Biography Tiisetso Lesotho is a photographer and was born in 1993 in Soweto, South Africa. In 2017, Lesotho completed the Photojournalism and Documentary Photography Programme (PDP), offered by the Market Photo Workshop. The PDP is designed to meet the needs of candidates from South Africa and further afield on the continent, the course is intended to develop photojournalism and documentary photography to a level where those in these professions are able better to defend freedom of expression and hence democracy. In 2018, she participated in the Community Media Photography Internship, which was a specialised photography project. Through the project, Lesotho had the opportunity to produce and publish investigative photo essays, intern with thriving community media publications and be mentored by an experienced photo editor. Lesotho’s photography mainly examines the unique socio-economic challenge of South Africa’s townships with a special focus on how different people’s lives are, but also how similar they are.
