Circa 1969. Tiki is still owned and run by Tim and Dave, pictured above and based in the same HQ.

Tiki’s story is remarkable. Tim Heyland and Dave Aldrich-Smith’s route into surfing are a thing of legend via Hawaii, Brazil and draft dodging in California in the 1960’s. Their colourful paths brought them eventually to Braunton in North Devon to set up a surfboard shaping business and surf shop. With Dave’s contacts in California they were able to secure the licenses to produce the likes of Bing, G&S and Weber in the UK and before long were selling boards as fast as they could make them. Tiki remains the UK’s leading homegrown surf company, with sales in countries around the world. We continue to remain close to our roots, designing and developing cold water surf gear.

General Warranty Information and Policy Tiki have been making wetsuits since the 1960’s. We stand by the performance and quality of every product we make. As such we offer a comprehensive warranty to repair or replace any Tiki product that does not fulfil our high quality standards. If the product is found to be faulty under normal use and proper care, Tiki will repair or replace the product at our discretion. The decision to replace or repair a product is made by Tiki after the defective product has been sent to us. At no time does Tiki offer a refund. Defective product should be returned CLEAN AND DRY and postage prepaid. The return should also contain a note which should include returns number, product description, product defects, requested action, return address (including postcode), daytime telephone number with area code, customer/accounts name and a copy of the purchase receipt (general public enquiries only). The most common form of seam seal is a silicon compound, mostly known as Liquid Seal. This is epic stuff, applied to the outside of a glued and/or stitched seam to ensure zero water penetration. However, essentially it is a back-up seal as a well made GBS wetsuit will not leak, so Liquid Seal is a good, but not essential feature. It is also heavy and reduces stretch. Our Zepha 2 features seam seal as it is designed to withstand the harshest punishment. However, the Zepha 2 Pro is more about high performance and stretch. So we have removed all but the essential features to make this as lightweight and flexible as possible. Incidentally it is also a quite expensive feature on a wetsuit, so by removing it, we have also made the PRO incredible value for money.

These suits are put on and taken off up to 3 times a day or more, by people not familiar with wetsuits. We graded our sizes to be a fraction more giving, with slightly larger ankle and wrist openings.

WHAT MAKES OUR ADV SO GOOD? We have been making this model for over 10 years. We also offer a repair service so we can identify any points of failure or wear. Over the years we have refined this model based on a wealth of feedback from customers all over the world. The main focus is durability - these wetsuits take a battering! The key to withstanding this is both the materials and pattern: our Duratech seat and knees use a higher density foam than standard. Our GBS seams are blindstitched inside and out. Key pressure points are tape reinforced, zips are the highest quality etc. The list goes on! On the pattern, we have developed this specifically for this purpose: larger kneepads, slightly more generous fit to enable quick fitting, V-shaped crotch to move stress points and seams are placed away from high wear areas.

REPAIR SERVICE We are one of the few wetsuit brands that actually made wetsuits in the UK before the advent of Far Eastern production. We retain a lot of the skills and machinery required to make our prototypes, but also the ability to repair wetsuits. We canâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t promise that these suits will not suffer damage, given the extreme nature of the usage, but we can offer a repair service if they do.

Our modern “fish” design is built for speed. Excelling in chest to overhead high waves, it performs on those hollow, glassy days, yet enjoys mushy, sloppy and less than perfect conditions too. The wide template also suits heavier surfers looking for a performance feel.

From 8’0 to 9’0 these longboards suit a variety of surfers and styles. The 8’0 is more easily managed by intermediate surfers or in bigger waves, while the 9’0 suits more classic style; gliding and nose-riding. The 8’6 is a blend of both - manouverable but still able to nose ride. A low entry rocker and full outline, these boards paddle and catch waves with ease and carry speed. The slight flip in the tail rocker and pulled in tail template makes them surprisingly lively and responsive off the tail.
