Tiki’s story is remarkable, a part of the fabric of the surf industry in Britain. Tim Heyland was a pioneer. His upbringing took him around the world. A seeker of adventure, surfing offered Tim a new set of challenges. One of the first British surfers to challenge the waves of Hawaii’s North Shore, Tim’s early forays are peppered with stories and characters from the golden era of surf; surfing places like Sunset with Fred Hemmings and Paul Staunch or Makaha with Buffalo. Dave Aldrich-Smith’s route into surfing is a tale in itself – while enjoying a work stay on a ranch in the mid-west America, Dave was drafted into the Vietnam War. Not wishing to fight for Uncle Sam in ‘63, Dave took the first Greyhound bus to California, hired a board and never looked back. Landing in Hermosa beach again in ’69 he was taken under the wing of Nick

Wide and flat, with a single concave from mid to tail, the Squat is all about speed.

Back in Britain, they took their combined expertise and knowledge and got to work. Without

Performance surfing relies on speed - fast direction changes, deep rail gouges, getting to and

Flowbird

Firebird

The clue is in the name - the Flowbird is all about style and flow. But for those who know these boards - there’s a hidden performance in this deceptive outline.

Our performance longboard is appropriately named - the Firebird. Available only in 9’0 and 9’2

A generous egg outline and low rocker makes this board easy paddling and easy surfing. Ride it as a single fin on a clean wave for fluid high lines and long arcs. Or mix it up a bit with the 2+1 and make use of the pinched rail and single to double concave; features that bring out the hidden performance in the Flowbird.

6' 6” x 21 1/2" x 2 9/16" - 42 litres 6' 10" x 22 " x 2 3/4" - 48 litres 7’2" x 22 1/4" x 2 13/16" - 53 litres 7’6 x 22 5/8” x 3” - 60 litres

this is a board that draws on Tiki’s long competition pedigree. A wide rounded nose and deep single nose concave creates lift for nose rides. From the mid point back the pulled in outline, double concave and fine foil, make this a responsive, reactive longboard. A 2+1 fin set-up is suggested but the 4+1 fin boxes offer all options from single to quad fin set-ups.
