Rationale This year I want to challenge myself and my practice in as many ways as possible. I want to put in maximum effort in order to produce a portfolio of work that is ready for Industry. I want to get better at screen-printing this year, because traditional print methods get me really excited about my work. In order to do this, I need to create a brief that centres around screen-print and other analogue methods of image making. I want to get better with colour, and become more experimental with this. I have always struggled with colour, but I understand its importance, which is why I will practice as much as possible with varying, eye-catching colour palettes, that will draw my audience in to look at my work. I want to create documentary illustrations, and learn as much as possible about reportage and where I can take this in the future. I need to find systems of recording, that help me document my subjects, as well as communicate them effectively. I want to undertake a variety of briefs in order to strengthen my portfolio, to display the ability to work within various contexts and with varying subjects. By doing this I will hopefully discover where my strengths lie, and what to push forward in the future. Above all, I want to make work that’s socially conscious, emotive and that reflects my values.

Products / Methods of Distribution
- Prints (Digital and Screen prints) – Exhibitions, galleries, Colours may vary, independent art shops, local creative events and art markets. - Publications- Colours may vary, Village, independent book stores and shops. - Zines- coffee shops (I think all coffee shops should have zines as well as newspapers), send in the post to potential employers. - Enter competitions - All work could be featured on a variety of online platforms such as my website, Instagram, Behance, The Dots, and an online shop.
Practical Skills / Media / Formats - Screen Prints - try to be experimental with colours and techniques. Try printing on fabric. Build on skills in order to improve. - Mono printing and then combine with digital- work with texture to see what outcomes can be achieved. - Publications- book binding, layout, format, compositions. -Systems of recording- Work out what systems work well to gather the correct information when documenting various subjects. Such as photographs, experience, drawing from life, conversations etc. -Colour and Composition- allow the time to test a variety of outcomes in as many briefs as possible in order to improve. -Process and Play- Continue to draw everyday, pushing ideas forward in sketchbook. Allow myself the time to be creative, in order to find a process that works well for me and suits my practice.
