[Project_01] Wilderness Medical Training Center Bozeman, Montana The Wilderness Medical training center is a reinterpretation of learning the knowledge and strategies necessary for wilderness rescue and medicine. These courses are generally taught in a generic classroom environment with external activities in order to give hands on experience. The goal of this center is to create a complete hand on environment where people live and learn on site and where classroom learning is integrated with fieldwork on a daily basis.

[Project_02] Dena’ina Wellness Center Kenai, Alaska Working at Architects Alaska gave significant experience in processes involved in designing a building and ensuring that the design came to frution. Aiding in the introduction of Revit Architecture and the creation of an office standard gave exposure to the potential of the program for construction document creation and for renderings as shown here.

[Project_03] Fort Mason Boatbuilding Academy San Francisco, California Using the pre-existing, abandonned pier off of Fort Mason in San Francisco this project creates a highly visible academy that weaves together tradition and technology to create an environment that preserves and teaches the arts and skills of wooden boatbuilding. Integrating the educational process with hands on work through a space that encourages public engagement and exploration. This develops an environment that encourages the highest levels of craft and a transparent relationship with the public; which promotes interest, engagement, and funding for the school.

[Project_04] Coleman Ferry Terminal Seattle, Washington An energy efficient solution to the current ferry terminal. This terminal separates the spaces that need to be conditioned from the many excess spaces that merely need to be protected. A canopy structure allows for commuters to remain protected from the weather without the need for excessive conditions space while at the same time allowing for a streamlined entry and exit process.

[Project_05] Division One Bicycles Bozeman, Montana A design that streamlines the manufacturing process for bicycles. Combining frame and part manufacturing, retail, distribuation the project eliminated many unnessary steps in getting the bicycle from materials, into the customers hand. The four functions of the building are stacked in order to create a new venue for riding within the city of Bozeman.

[Project_06] Butte Folk Arts Center Butte, Montana The distinctively separate communities of Butte were brought togetehr by mining creating a fusion of arts that are unique to the city. In much the same way separate volumes are tied together by a tiered courtyard reflecting the same dynamic that led to the folk arts of butte.

[Project_08] Mixed-Use Infill Bozeman, Montana Located in the heart of Bozeman on busy Mainstreet this three story project brings a modern feel to bozeman while homogenizing with the existing historic Mainstreet buildings. Consiting of a woodworking gallery, office spaces, and residential spaces. This project maximized natural light to all spaces in a long, narrow building.

[Project_09] Form, Space, and Order Architecture is the translation of concept to physical entity. The design process is about defining ideas and distilling them until a form and a space is created. Design in its most basic form extends from the literal understanding of the utilitarian function that the space needs to accomplish. However in order to create good design one must examine all of the potential functions of the space, gaining a detailed understanding of the future use. It is in the process of ordering and filtering all the potential uses and weighting them against each other that a successfull design can occur. A “Form, Space, and Order that not only is informed by the uses but also imforms the user. In this way the design will become both versatile and descriptive, a space should aid the user in completing a task without limiting the options.

[Project_10] Mobile Studio Bozeman, Montana A self sufficient connection between the art and architecture buildings at Montana State University the mobile studio applys natural ventilation, solar heating, and natural lighting to create separate studios independant of other buildings mechanical systems.
