The largest valley on the Casali di Casole estate is one crisscrossed by a seasonal stream. In every season it is alive with deer, pheasant, and an abundance of hare. In springtime, the wheat is a soft green, but by June and for the long summer the fields are aglow, the wind making golden waves across a square mile of grain, uninterrupted save for one narrow road, the way to Poggio alla Corona. Here, the sun and clouds are mirrored in the pool, which soars onto the woods and fields.
At sunrise, the old growth forest and olive groves are alive with birdsong, giving way to the ever-changing Tuscan light as billowing clouds cast a magical spell over the pastoral landscape. Evenings on the loggia are alive with a thousand hues, from orange to deep purple, reflecting in the waters of the pool.
This residence is an artful recreation of traditional Tuscan farmhouses, subtly updated to include every modern convenience. Stone and wood set the theme, softened by the rich textiles and silks of the region.
