Would you ever have guessed that chia seeds are from the mint family? Surprise, surprise! Native to Guatemala and Mexico, these seeds were being munched on by the wise Aztecs long before the Spanish conquerors came to town in the sixteenth century. The high content of healthy oils in them probably gave them their name, which comes from the Nahuatl word chian, meaning “oily.”

2 cups watermelon, cubed and seeded 2 cups strawberries 1 cup parsley 1 lime
Process all the ingredients in a juicer and serve.
When juicing parsley, it’s better to start slowly. There’s a big difference between adding a little chopped parsley on your bruschetta, and taking it in concentrated doses that go directly to your bloodstream. The juice of this innocent-looking herb is highly detoxifying, which may make you feel like you are having a bit of an out-of-body experience if it’s the first time you are taking it in such high doses.
