Viewers can celebrate the legacy of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll with live online concerts and unique fan experiences. Here’s an opportunity to step back in time and craft like the Victorians did. Meet costumed villagers undertaking pastimes such as needlework and knitting. Churn cream into butter or learn to stitch, knit and make lavender sachet or peg doll. Get up close with a vintage hand-crank sewing machine. Heritage sewing expert Gracie Matthews will be on site with her restored Singer machines as well as Tintype Central pop-up portrait studio. Choral concert

Pakuranga Choral Society is presenting their ‘lighter’ programme for the year titled ‘Gershwin and Friends’ the concert ranges from jazz standards, through some memories from the 1960s, the world of music theatre, and right up to a brand-new work by conductor David Hamilton. Guest soloist is mezzo-soprano Sarah Court and accompanying the choir is Moira Pascoe. The concert also features piano and fl ute solos. Adults $25, seniors and tertiary students $20, school children $10. Tickets at the door.
