Arecord number of people turned out for the Auckland Brit & Euro Classic Car at Lloyd Elsmore Park on Sunday. The weather was kind too – although there was cloud cover it was extremely warm with some respite in the afternoon when the wind picked up.

Rev Dr Richard Waugh, chairman of the Brit & Euro Classic Car Show Committee, said: Our fifth annual classic car show was a resounding success with the most car and motorcycle registrations we’ve had (1140) and a record public attendance of more than 10,000 people.

“The free community event is only possible due to much voluntary effort and the sponsorship of Howick Local Board, Protecta Insurance and Times Newspapers.

“We are already underway with our evaluation work to ensure the 2021 event is just as memorable for east Auckland.”
