‘Clubbing’ IN STYLE!

Members of The Franklin Club have always known it’s pretty special. But with the growth of new subdivisions, and more folk moving into the area, the club wants new residents (and others) to find out what makes it the district’s ‘premier club’.

There’s no time like now to join the Franklin Club. Last year Cliff Downes was appointed manager and since his arrival there has been a whole lot shaking going on – in more ways than one!

First up, decor has been refreshed – it’s lighter and brighter. There’s also been a big upgrade in the restaurant – new management (now in the care of well known local company, Logan Catering), new tables, new chairs, al fresco dining area and new menu which will change every three months. What’s more, the restaurant now offers waiter and wine service.

Better still, non-members are welcome to dine – they will be signed in and while there can use all club facilities. But, of course, the best way to take advantage of club prices and the many other advantages (we’re coming to those) is to join.

And, right now Cliff is offering a SPECIAL 15-MONTH MEMBERSHIP – now until June 2021 for just $120pp or $150 for a family (partners plus children up to the age of 25 years) – fantastic!

So, what do you get for your membership? Lots. Some members tend to head along for a catch-up with mates once or twice a week and at their disposal is the casino, the snooker room, the darts club, library and the fishing section.

On Wednesday nights there’s Happy Hour from 5.30pm to 7pm while member draws are held on Thursday and Friday evenings with cash up for grabs, not to mention great raffles.

These days there is great toetapping, jive talking entertainment on the calendar – live bands, karaoke, kids’ discos (family fun is important) and jazz in the garden bar every second Sunday (4pm-7pm).

Watch out, too, for the upcoming Franklin’s Got Talent – winner takes

The Franklin Club Pukekohe has undergone enormous changes including refreshed décor, new restaurant management and menus, more entertainment, more club activities…in fact, more of everything! GREAT MEMBERSHIP OFFER JOIN NOW!

TRACY SHACKLETON

Papakura Business Association, Ph 09 298 8996 #Live Papakura www.papakura.co.nz

Wendy Hunt, manager of Fountains Funerals & Monuments in Papakura understands that while being a funeral director requires compassion, sensitivity and understanding, it is the love and celebration of life that play an important part in saying goodbye to someone you love. It is Wendy’s quiet energy, professionalism and profound respect for those who have passed, combined with warmth and kindness towards grieving families, which help them to cope with this most difficult time in their life. It is also paramount to Wendy to support her team in their work and life balance. “The funeral ceremony is so important in assisting families to honour their loved one, but what that looks like is up to them,”she says. “It is our role to make that happen. There is no higher privilege.” Papakura township is in great hands. And, perhaps that’s why there is such a vibrant mood in Papakura where deep roots are giving rise to new growth. Colourful planters, attractive window displays, murals by local artists and lovely green spaces all contribute to a sense of optimism. With its central bus and train station plus motorway nearby, transport links are excellent. Moreover, comprehensive CCTV coverage in the town puts personal and business safety first. But when Tracy points out that Papakura is also home to an art gallery, museum, library, recreation centre, swimming pool, athletics stadium, two theatres plus fabulous cafes and restaurants – it’s evident this is a community with pride at heart.
