Message from the Chair – Happy New Year!

How many times have you exchanged the words “Happy Carol Shack New Year” with 2015 Board Chair your friends and business acquaintances? It may sound like an automatic response but we are truly wishing one another good fortune. If you think about it, it’s a wonderful time to be excited about new beginnings; extending good wishes to everyone for them, their families and their businesses. I’m excited about new beginnings in Longmont! The Village at the Peaks mall construction! An entirely new landscape at the corner of 1st and Main Street! The new Stewart Auditorium at the Longmont Museum! Great new apartment buildings! New construction at Harvest Junction! New companies coming to town! There are many more - too numerous to mention here. The Longmont Chamber of Commerce is beginning the new year with a calendar packed full of exciting

programs and events for its members. Let’s start with January, for instance. Business Before and After Hours are always a great way to jump into the new year. Business Before Hours is slated for January 9th, 7:30-9am at the Ed & Ruth Lehman YMCA. The “Y” has been welcoming Chamber members to their Before Hours for several years now. Make plans to be there and while you’re at it, consider signing up to take advantage of all they offer in the way of exercise and healthy living activities. Business After Hours is set for January 22, at Longmont’s wonderful Museum & Cultural Center. Currently, the Remington & Russell exhibit is residing at the Museum so you can stop in and appreciate the amazing works of two of the most popular illustrators of subjects of the American West in the late 19th Century. This exhibition will be the first time many of these works have been exhibited in Colorado. On the 22nd, we’ll also have

a chance to grab a hard hat and tour the construction of the new Stewart auditorium at the Museum! Please mark your calendars now and plan to attend the Chamber’s signature event - Unity in the Community. It will be held at the Plaza Conference Center on February 26, 2015. It’s a perfect opportunity to showcase your business and network with other community leaders and elected officials from around the region. The Chamber’s Public Policy Committee is anticipating the opening of the 2015 Legislative Session. They will be monitoring any bills that may be of importance to the business community. It promises to be an interesting session! Another opportunity you don’t want to miss, call Scott Cook at the Chamber and sign up to sponsor one of our many events! It is one more way for you to gain exposure for your business! Have a Happy and Prosperous New Year!!

Welcome

Sponsorship information is available at www.longmontchamber.org or by contacting Scott Cook, Event & Program Director at scook@longmontchamber.org. Similar to Unity in the Community, we encourage you to act fast –many event sponsorships and hosts are filling up fast. Our always-popular Business Before Hours and After Hours events are already SOLD OUT for 2015. The fact is – Chamber events and programs would not be made possible without sponsors stepping forward and showing their support. During 2014, the Chamber received wonderful support from the business community and we say “thank you” to our devoted members for your support and ask for your continued support to make the 2015 events and programs schedule the best yet. Sponsor an event today and Get Noticed!
