60th Diamond Anniversary Gala

Petersburg

Guests won’t forget the Champagne toast, big-band dance numbers and fond memories they shared at the Stuart Society’s “A Night to Remember,” the 60th Diamond Anniversary Gala benefit for the Museum of Fine Arts. Crooner Don Juceum started the evening off swinging in the Conservatory with Le Orchestra Fantastique, while a Marilyn Monroe look-alike primped and posed for fun photos. Stuart Society president Dawn Sumner honored the memory of the auxiliary’s mentor, Margaret Acheson Stuart, founder of the downtown St. Petersburg museum. Gala committee chairperson Shari Ellis chose black-and-white decor for the black-tie optional party, elegantly turning the Marly Room into the “Diamond Lounge” for music, drinks and dessert Feb. 11. — Amy Scherzer, photos courtesy of Elise Elsberry
