Sequoia redesignated a ‘School to Watch’

Sequoia Middle School was redesignated a “National School to Watch” for its focus on equity and excellence.

The National Forum Advancing Excellence gave this honor to the school at the 2024 National Schools to Watch Conference. It was originally designated in 2017.

The NFAE is a nonprofit organization that selects schools for this designation every year

based on leadership as well as teachers who improve curriculum and commit to a student’s social, emotional and academic growth.

Sequoia Middle School Principal Monica Young said that the school’s achievements come from a focused approach to student development.

“We strive to support our students academically and holistically,” Young said. “We focus on all aspects of our students’ development, in-

Fontana Business Summit will assist business owners

Prospective business owners can attend the first annual Fontana Business Summit at the Jessie Turner Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 17. This event will allow owners to connect with industry experts and learn business insights and strategies. Event participants will learn about social media marketing from Dennis Yu and financial planning with Catherine Smith Licari.

The city said that Fontana-based businesses or owners looking to start one in Fontana will receive a certificate of participation, which

would satisfy requirements for the Fontana Empowerment Loan Fund. Businesses outside of Fontana have the opportunity to attend and connect with industry experts to help promote growth.

Rhonesia Perry, a city economic development analyst, said this event will provide businesses with what they need to succeed and that they should register as early as possible.

“Businesses can expect a full day of resources — conversations on how to accelerate their business from either entrepreneurship or even midscale if they’re in that midscale sweet spot and looking

Fontana announced it hosted a delegation last month from Wuxi, China, which united the two as friendship cities. The city held a ceremony and exploration event for Wuxi delegates to see what Fontana had to offer. This involved a showcase and tour of Lewis Library and Technology Center, Stage Red and the city’s industrial sector, which includes places like the Amazon warehouse.

This visit underscores the potential for an international partnership, which could

mean economic growth and foreign investments that bolster the city’s local economy and create new job opportunities. The city said that as it grows internationally, it would need to ensure residents benefit as well.

Patricia Nakielny, chief marketing and business development officer for Magellan Value Partners, said that this partnership would boost the city’s industrial sector.

“Foreign investments bring jobs and growth to a city,” Nakielny said. “Having foreign investors and new companies

Fontana to offer free CERT training

From Aug. 23 to 25, the City of Fontana Community Emergency Response Team will host free training in the City of Fontana Emergency Operations Center, located at 17005 Upland Avenue. The three-day training course will offer hands-on practice with fire extinguishers, first aid and more. No prior knowledge is required and participants must be 18 years or older. Those who complete the course will receive a certificate and a CERT vest and backpack.

This course will teach skills to assist family members, friends and neighbors during emergencies and disasters. Participants will learn about fire suppression, cribbing, disaster medical aid and light search and rescue tactics. The training will be provided by the city’s Emergency Management Program and CERT Volunteers, in collaboration with the Fontana Police Department and the Fontana Fire Protection District. The city recommends this course in preparation for a major disaster where emergency services may be overwhelmed.

Eva Terekhova, city emergency services coordinator, said that taking the CERT course prepares people for what they’d need to know during a disaster.

“So the way CERT classes work is they can be a standalone class that people take and they don’t volunteer afterwards at all,” she said. “It is amazing training for anyone that prepares you for a variety of different things happening, and we do everything from a little bit of first aid to learning how to use a fire extinguisher — just things that prepare you for any kind of emergency that you might need.”

Terekhova said those who complete the course can become a CERT member and volunteer with the city. She also said there’s the LISTOS course, which provides people with more knowledge, and that both courses are offered in English and Spanish.

“We have restarted the CERT program,” Terekhova said. “Right now we’re mostly focused on getting ready for the classes. We do CERT and LISTOS classes. LISTOS is an awareness program much like CERT, but with much more classes. … So we are just working with the volunteers to focus on those two programs —

the LISTOS and the CERT — and get as many classes out to the public as we can.”

“A lot of the time, CERT volunteers are used to staff commodity points of distribution,” Terekhova said. “So they hand out food (and) water to people in a disaster — things like that. … They’re not disaster responders per se, but we do teach them how to respond if something like that happens. … I do recommend folks to take both classes. They’re both really important.”

SPECIAL TO HERALD NEWS

In 1897, Mark Twain was contacted by some intrepid reporters who heard he was dying. Twain sent them a cable from London to explain that he wasn’t anywhere near kicking the bucket. So was born the famous quote, “Reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.”

The same is true of your local newspaper. For all the doom and gloom that surrounds the journalism business in 2024, we are nowhere near dead. In fact, for myself and the team here at Century Group Media, it’s actually a new day one we’re thrilled to be meeting head on.

As you may have heard, Times Media Group, my company, recently acquired this publication from Jerry Bean, its visionary founder and long-time publisher. Jerry, like me, shares a love for quality journalism. As I got to know him, first as a business acquaintance and then as a friend, I saw how much Jerry cares about the news business and keeping local papers alive. That same passion has driven me for the past 27 years.

local publications: We’re living through the most challenging times in the history of local journalism. Papers that used to enjoy massive readership and bulging bottom lines which allowed them to reinvest in telling a community’s stories have seen circulation dwindle and advertising dry up. Whole regions have become “newspaper deserts,” underserved, uncovered and with no one in sight to hold the powerful accountable and to celebrate life’s wins.

That will not happen here, and that, I promise you.

are more about walking the walk than talking the talk. You have to put in the work. That’s what I believe separates the winners from the losers, whether we’re discussing newspapers, business or life.

Almost every day, I talk to newspaper publishers across the country, people who, like Jerry and I, have attached our financial security to a business that strikes fear into the hearts of many.

We spend our days like ship pilots searching out icebergs in the dark, and devising creative solutions to the myriad complex challenges we face in getting the paper out every week.

It won’t happen, because we intend to grow this business in ways that corporate behemoth owners either don’t understand or won’t do. We’ll focus with even greater vigor on what’s happening in your neighborhood, and we’ll provide even greater value to advertisers who need to connect with clients and customers. We’ll make the newspaper available in more places 500 new distribution points, to be exact and we will soon make it available to you digitally via an email subscription that won’t cost you a penny.

There’s a reason so many pundits frequently predict death for

Stay tuned for more news on the improvements we intend to make. But I want to be clear: We

At Times Media Group, we aren’t merely up for those challenges, we live for them. We know that if we serve you in good faith, we will shore up the bond between newspaper and reader. You’ll keep coming back, and businesses who want your business will follow you. The more we connect, the more you’ll read. The more you care, the more we succeed.

There’s a joke I make when people ask me how a newspaper stays in business in 2024. “Very carefully,” I tell them, with the emphasis on “care.”

In a professional career that has spanned more than 30 years, I’ve learned that people can tell the phonies from those who truly care. Caring motivates our reporters to tell great stories. It drives our readers to open the paper in print or by email, and caring lifts our advertisers to succeed in their own endeavors. I know we have people who care here at Century Group, because already I’ve heard from many of you with well wishes, and I’ve met the dedicated team of journalists who love their jobs and love the process of finding and telling great stories.

Just like Mark Twain wasn’t dead back in the day, your local newspaper isn’t going anywhere. We’re here to stay, and we’re as committed as ever to the Inland Empire, and to you. Thank you for reading and for your support of your local paper. You can always help us by supporting our advertisers, too, because without them, there simply is no us. Let them know you saw their ads, and use their services whenever possible, please. They, too, care about keeping the local paper alive. And please, read on. We intend to give you every reason to do exactly that!

Fontana Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council assists city staff

The Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council (MYAC) is currently accepting new members between the ages of 12 through 18. The council is a youth organization that operates within Fontana and San Bernardino County. The group is composed of teenagers who are interested in assisting the city and their community.

Members of the MYAC spend their time establishing leadership skills, as well as promoting youth development and civic engagement opportunities for other young people. The group currently has 47 members from both the Fontana and Etiwanda School Districts and their respective middle and high schools. Aleish Cuaresma, MYAC president, took Mayor Acquanetta Warren’s place in a weekly city announcement and explained MYAC’s goals.

“MYAC is an award-winning San Bernardino County recognized group of teens who dedicate their time and passion to assist in advancing our city,” Cuaresma said.

Sequoia and other schools in the Fontana Unified School District also have access to the Multi-Tiered System of Supports department which has 30 employees including 15 counselors who offer mental health and emotional support services.

Mayor Acquanetta Warren said that this new partnership unites Fontana and Wuxi under shared interests.

“We are delighted to extend a warm welcome to our great guests,” Warren said. “We gather here to celebrate our shared visions and our shared values — and mutual interests.”

Wuxi Mayor Gu Wenhao said that Fontana is a promising city for collaboration.

“With this visit to Fontana’s city, we further establish a closer bond between us and lay a solid foundation for fu-

(and) that they have opportunities to get involved in school,” Trejo said. “Because the more that they feel that they belong and the more that are comfortable within the school setting, the more willing they are to get further invested in their education. And it’s just a great transition as they’re getting ready to go into high school as well. I think that’s why Sequoia in particular does a lot of these collaborative processes. (It’s) to really try and make sure they’re able to support the student’s needs from all aspects.”

The school also received platinum certification from California’s Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports coalition. The PBIS provides an evidence-based framework for schools to follow and utilize to promote positive behaviors in classrooms.

Dr. Roy Rogers, FUSD executive director of middle schools, said that those in the Sequoia community worked hard to receive these honors.

“This honor signifies a vali-

ture collaborations,” Wenhao said. “We felt the city was very beautiful and very promising. We also hope that we can carry out more extensive cooperation and exchanges with you (Fontana) in the future.”

Warren said that regardless of politics, this visit also represents an exchange of ideas and culture.

“You know, this is what America’s about,” Warren said. “We’re not into the politics. We’re into the people and we’re trying to share information and culture — and we’re learning the best practices from them and they’re learning from us. … We are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.”

“It reflects the school’s success in fostering academic excellence, developmental responsiveness, social equity and strong organizational structures. This recognition is a testament to the collaborative efforts of students, staff, parents and the broader community, highlighting their shared vision of achieving high standards and continuous improvement.”

Trejo said that for this new school year, Sequoia will continue to build off of its past success.

“I think we’re very excited about the school year to come and looking forward to building off of the successes from the end of last school year and moving forward into this one,” Trejo said.

Old-fashioned camp meeting continues

During the 19th century, various Protestant denominations held outdoor summer revival meetings. These meetings were typically held in pitched tents and people, young and old, would come and frequently stay for an entire week in smaller tents and would enjoy fellowship, preaching, and singing of the old traditional hymns of the church, to promote the spiritual life of all, frequently referred to as revival.

The Calimesa SDA Church, under the encouragement of

the Lead Pastor Chris Oberg, introduced an annual month of camp meeting Sabbath worship services to be held in August, now called August at Calimesa. During the month, the congregation and community are blessed by messages presented by guest speakers, inspiring traditional and contemporary music, drama, a time for children, with a focus on drawing young and old closer to our Creator.

Aiming to create an atmosphere replicating the camp meeting of yesteryear, the sanctuary platform is decorated to create an atmosphere of sitting in a tent setting. 2024

is no exception.

This year’s theme, Discipleship, will feature guest speakers, Will Penick, ministerial director, Southeastern California Conference on Aug. 17; Kevin Wilson, youth pastor, Sunnyside Church, Portland, Oregon on Aug. 24; and Raewyn Orlich, pastor, La Sierra University Church on Aug. 31.

Music will play a large part at each service at 11:15 a.m. Highlighting this month’s music will be a men’s chorus, Christian Edition; Loma Linda University Church Brass Quintet; the “Sweet Tidings” Country Gospel Jam; the Yu-

caipa Ukes (a group of 15 to 20 ukulele players); soloists Adrian Presley, Je Je Nevol and Claudette Sanders; vocal duo Kellie and Shannon Barnes, formerly of Cal Baptist; praise teams; Dan Morgan and Devon Riley (fiddlers, guitarists, vocal and instrumental).

Steve Green and Dick Tunney will perform at LLUC at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17. Tickets available at itickets.com. The resemblance of this camp meeting of yesteryear will end Aug. 31 with the traditional vespers on the church lawn with watermelon, corn on the cob, corn dogs and a movie under the stars.

NEEDTOBREATHE emerges from its

NEEDTOBREATHE keyboardist Josh Lovelace is particularly excited about his South Carolina band’s current tour.

Coming to the Yaamava Theater on Friday, Aug. 23, NEEDTOBREATHE is harkening back to its salad days on this jaunt.

“We’re having a lot of fun,” said Lovelace, calling from Rochester, New York. “The shows are fun. We usually do a big tour and bring out a bunch of lights and production. This time, we’re stripping it back a little bit.

“We’re playing in rooms and places we haven’t gotten to play on our old tours. We don’t have setlist and we’re doing whatever we want to do.”

NEEDTOBREATHE is touring in support of its new album, “Caves,” which dropped in September 2023. Known for crisscrossing genres, the album features collabs with Old Dominion, Carly Pearce, Judah & The Lion and Foy Vance.

“In some ways, when you’re making your ninth album, you know how to do it,” Lovelace said.

“We know the process. But there’s always a surprise in some way.”

There’s a fine line between creativity and making fans

happy, he said. Lovelace explains about how he feels he can’t venture too far out of the box out of fear of fans saying, “What have they done to the band I love.”

“That balancing act was tricky at the time,” he added.

“I’m proud of these songs. The first time I listened to it, I loved it and hoped that fans would like it as well. It’s one of those records that grows on you. You have to stick it out. There is a lot of fun stuff on this record; meaningful stuff that I think fans have gravitated toward.”

He called “Caves” a step forward sonically.

“We took some chances,” he said. “Our goal was, if we were going to play arenas, what sounds would you want to hear? Songs that you want to throw your fist in the air and sing to at the top of your lungs.

“We went bigger on this album. It’s a big-sounding record with a lot of layers. Even though it’s tricky, we threw different curve balls. There’s a thread that goes through all the records. The thread is not straight for sure. It’s twisting, which makes it interesting for the fans and us.”

The same goes for concerts, such as the upcoming gig at Yaamava.

“It’s a good blend of our whole catalog,” he said. “If

you were to, say, to go a Bruce Springsteen concert and he didn’t play ‘Born in the USA,’ you would be ticked off at him.

“We play the songs people want to hear and the stuff we want to play. The band’s in good form and is able to pull things out at the spur of the moment. We try to make everyone happy.”

AI may make your job worse

Since the Industrial Revolution, workers have contended with technological threats to their jobs.

Today that’s artificial intelligence, or AI.

AI has been a mainstay in our popular imagination for decades — from apocalyptic robot takeovers to thriving post-work societies. All that remains science fiction, but many of us understandably worry that AI might take our jobs.

The good news? That’s unlikely. The reality — and the less good news — is that AI is rapidly increasing surveillance in the workplace.

An overwhelming majority of workers say AI will have a direct impact on their jobs, but they don’t agree on how. Some feel that it will help, while 42% fear that some aspects of their job will soon be automated.

That’s certainly what many tech executives have suggested will happen. Reports that a majority of U.S. firms are planning to incorporate AI within the next year have compounded those concerns.

In fact, Goldman Sachs predicts that generative AI could

“substitute up to one-fourth of current work.”

Yet the concrete results of AI have been mixed at best.

Driverless cars haven’t materialized to replace humans on the road. McDonald’s cut ties with IBM after their new automated order taking system failed to make fast food orders more efficient. And Google’s new AI Overview tool — which seeks to “do the googling for you” — keeps spitting out comical falsehoods.

In short, AI isn’t as advanced as the tech industry would have us believe. But because these companies want to attract capital from investors, some are exaggerating or misrepresenting their AI capabilities, causing the Securities and Exchange Commission to crack down on two companies for so-called “AI-washing.”

Yet Big Tech remains undeterred. Most AI firms continue to be unprofitable, yet venture capitalists are still flooding the sector with billions of dollars with the hope it will one day transform the industry into a viable and innovative business.

In short, the “AI-will-replace-us-all-one-day” frenzy is a form of propaganda. It’s designed to demoralize work-

ers over a future that may never arrive. Instead, our focus should be on where AI is actually deployed today: in the realm of worker surveillance.

Chevron and Starbucks are already using AI software to monitor the communications of their workers to flag discontent in the workplace. Amazon delivery drivers, meanwhile, are forced to “consent” to the installation of AI-powered cameras that financially penalize drivers for ordinary behavior like fiddling with the radio — or even mistakes they may not have actually committed.

Concerningly, some corporations are using military-grade AI to subvert and disrupt unionization efforts. These businesses use AI for digital union busting, identifying and firing labor organizers through keyboard tracking, Zoom call spying and alerts when a large number of employees hold internal meetings.

All of this transforms the workplace into an electronic panopticon where workers are constantly visible to an unseen watcher encroaching on their autonomy, privacy and labor rights.

Thankfully, workers are beginning to fight back.

The Teamsters negotiated a contract with UPS that included strong protections against AI surveillance. The Communications Workers of America succeeded in ensuring that any data collected by AI will be used for training purposes only — not to discipline workers. And the Writers Guild of America put guardrails on AI to ensure it doesn’t suppress wages — and make sure it remains under workers’ control.

While tech executives may promise that AI will fundamentally transform the econ-

omy, it’s unlikely to completely replace most workers. Even so, AI’s ability to devalue labor and diminish working conditions is troubling. We need to make sure that technological advancements make work better, not worse. And unlike AI, we can act on our own accord. We can educate, advocate, and organize to make certain that new technologies are implemented for the benefit of all, not just the privileged few.

At this point in Leo season, some experience high-profile attention at prime moments, cash prizes and other strokes of good fortune, though Mercury’s retrograde return to Leo reminds us that the luckiest things in life are comparatively low-key. It is also lucky to have the kinds of problems that are suited to growing into the person you want to be.

this week’s conversations will be rich with ideas for settling issues, solving problems and moving forward cooperatively. Even more effective than discussion will be the way you model harmony. You’ll be celebrated, promoted and paid, first in small ways and then bigger.

This week, you make a job look so easy, someone might see your seamless style and think, “I could have done that.” The reality is it can take a great deal of work to make things look simple. The experts will appreciate your quiet labor and commitment to excellence. They’ll commend and pay you for it.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

Gathering inspiration can feel so enjoyable it doesn’t seem like work, but since you won’t work nearly as well without being inspired, what you do to expose yourself to inspiration is a vital and necessary part of the process. Follow your intuition on the matter, which may come in the form of appetite and curiosity.

It Only Takes Seconds to Drown.

Always watch your child around water.

Ambition is optimism. You believe your efforts will bring you a desired outcome. You know that the future will show you a different reality than the one you’re living in. The cosmic forces fortify your self-discipline. Every act of perseverance will enforce your confidence in your abilities and increase your odds of success.

CANCER (June 22-July 22)

You move; life moves with you. It’s a connection you can feel, as though you and the universe are breathing together. Take advantage of this synchronistic vibe by stepping boldly into new challenges, trusting your instincts, and letting the energy carry you toward a special, secret and daring goal.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)

This week marks the opening of a new act, and you couldn’t be more ready for this excitement. The stage of your life is set, ready to accommodate the magic. The velvet curtain opens to let an audience into the scene. When new characters make their entrance, at first you can’t tell who the main characters will be.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

You’re a student of life, learning skills and overcoming personal limitations. Challenges are opportunities for growth. An attitude of resilience will keep you going when it gets weird. Fortune favors your rebel side, so take a risk. You’re an innovator at heart and you’ll be a key part of a progression that helps many.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23)

Peacekeeping is the lingua franca of Libra Land, and

You’re creatively vibrant no matter what is going on around you. In still settings, you’re a dance. In a whirl of chaos, you’re the grounding. In electric excitement, you’re the heroic rod who gets supercharged while saving everyone. As the sign of transformation, you love an interesting change, and you’ll get it this week.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21) Improvement requires deconstruction and reconstruction. Even so, tread lightly, especially where feelings are involved. Don’t ask too many questions or push social boundaries. It’s respectful to give emotions time to settle. People will express themselves when ready. Focus on reading the room and each person in it.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Babies come in many forms -- every species, every size, every age. You can tell a baby by their cuteness, naivete and, most viscerally, by the tantrums they throw. Dealing with people of all maturity levels is your specialty, and you’ll shine in this regard this week. You’ll even be chosen and compensated for this skill.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

This week’s golden opportunity comes in the form of a repetitive scenario. The replays give you a chance to take a different approach, double down on what worked last time, or eliminate what didn’t. Your experiments will keep things interesting. Others will be entertained and emboldened by your courage.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)

If all the chords were major, all music would be the stuff of nursery songs. Disharmony is necessary for the score to have complexity, and so it goes in life. Disagreement is part of the beauty. It’s how you disagree that matters. Less-skilled people will prolong or perpetuate tensions. You’ll move through it with grace.

THIS WEEK’S BIRTHDAYS:

Your cosmic gift is an inviting groove. You’ll settle in and gain momentum toward your goals. You’ll find humor, positivity and opportunity for connection in daily life, elevating every experience. More highlights: You’ll be an expert communicator and you’ll read signals easily, which will help you forge many fulfilling relationships. A truly exceptional group will welcome, support, challenge and inspire you. You’ll have regular exposure to various natural environments that you’ll find rejuvenating and revitalizing. 

UNLESS YOU TAKE ACTION TO PROTECT YOUR PROPERTY, IT MAY BE SOLD AT A PUBLIC SALE. IF YOU NEED AN EXPLANATION OF THE NATURE OF THE PROCEEDING AGAINST YOU, YOU SHOULD CONTACT

A LAWYER. A public auction sale to the highest bidder for cash, cashier’s check drawn on a state or national bank, check drawn by state or federal credit union, or a check drawn by a state or federal savings and loan association, or savings association, or savings bank specified in Section 5102 to the Financial Code and authorized to do business in this state, will be held by duly appointed trustee. The sale will be made, but without covenant or warranty, expressed or implied, regarding title, possession, or encumbrances, to pay the remaining principal sum of the note(s) secured by the Deed of Trust,

with interest and late charges thereon, as provided in the note(s), advances, under the terms of the Deed of Trust, interest thereon, fees, charges and expenses of the Trustee for the total amount (at the time of the initial publication of the Notice of Sale) reasonably estimated to be set forth below. The amount may be greater on the day of sale. BENEFICIARY MAY ELECT TO BID LESS THAN THE TOTAL AMOUNT DUE. Trustor(s): HENRY RODRIGUEZ AND MARY RODRIGUEZ, HUSBAND AND WIFE AS JOINT TENANTS Recorded: 10/30/2006 as Instrument No. 2006-0737606 of Official Records in the office of the Recorder of SAN BERNARDINO County, California; Date of Sale: 10/4/2024 at 9:00 AM Place of Sale: At the North West Entrance in the Courtyard of the Chino Municipal Court, located at 13260 Central Avenue, Chino, CA 91710 Amount of unpaid balance and other charges: $497,102.52 The purported property address is: 15619 SOUTHWIND AVENUE, FONTANA, CA 92336 Assessor’s Parcel No.: 0228761-45-0-000 NOTICE TO POTENTIAL BIDDERS: If you are considering bidding on this property lien, you should understand that there are risks involved in bidding at a trustee auction. You will be bidding on a lien, not on the property itself. Placing the highest bid at a trustee auction does not automatically entitle you to free and clear ownership of the property. You should also be aware that the lien being auctioned off may be a junior lien. If you are the highest bidder at the auction, you are or may be responsible for paying off all liens senior to the lien being auctioned off, before you can receive clear title to the property. You are encouraged to investigate the existence, priority, and size of outstanding liens that may exist on this property by contacting the county recorder’s office or a title insurance company, either of which may charge you a fee for this information. If you consult either of these resources, you should be aware that the same lender may hold more than one mortgage or deed of trust on the property. NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNER: The sale date shown on this notice of sale may be postponed one or more times by the mortgagee, beneficiary, trustee, or a court, pursuant to Section 2924g of the California Civil Code. The law requires that information about trustee sale postponements be made available to you and to the public, as a courtesy to those not present at the sale. If you wish to learn whether your sale date has been postponed, and, if applicable, the rescheduled time and date for the sale of this property, you may call 800-280-2832 for information regarding the trustee’s sale or visit this internet website http://www. qualityloan.com, using the file number assigned to this foreclosure by the Trustee: CA-24-988609-SH. Information about postponements that are very short in duration or that occur close in time to the scheduled sale may not immediately be reflected in the telephone information or on the internet website. The best way to verify postponement information is to attend the scheduled sale. NOTICE TO TENANT: You may have a right to purchase this property after the trustee auction pursuant to Section 2924m of the California Civil Code. If you are an “eligible tenant buyer,” you can purchase the property if you match the last and highest bid placed at the trustee auction. If you

are an “eligible bidder,” you may be able to purchase the property if you exceed the last and highest bid placed at the trustee auction. There are three steps to exercising this right of purchase. First, 48 hours after the date of the trustee sale, you can call 800-280-2832, or visit this internet website http://www. qualityloan.com, using the file number assigned to this foreclosure by the Trustee: CA-24-988609-SH to find the date on which the trustee’s sale was held, the amount of the last and highest bid, and the address of the trustee. Second, you must send a written notice of intent to place a bid so that the trustee receives it no more than 15 days after the trustee’s sale. Third, you must submit a bid so that the trustee receives it no more than 45 days after the trustee’s sale. If you think you may qualify as an “eligible tenant buyer” or “eligible bidder,” you should consider contacting an attorney or appropriate real estate professional immediately for advice regarding this potential right to purchase.

NOTICE TO PROSPECTIVE OWNER-OCCUPANT: Any prospective owner-occupant as defined in Section 2924m of the California Civil Code who is the last and highest bidder at the trustee’s sale shall provide the required affidavit or declaration of eligibility to the auctioneer at the trustee’s sale or shall have it delivered to QUALITY LOAN SERVICE CORPORATION by 5 p.m. on the next business day following the trustee’s sale at the address set forth in the below signature block. The undersigned Trustee disclaims any liability for any incorrectness of the property address or other common designation, if any, shown herein. If no street address or other common designation is shown, directions to the location of the property may be obtained by sending a written request to the beneficiary within 10 days of the date of first publication of this Notice of Sale. If the sale is set aside for any reason, including if the Trustee is unable to convey title, the Purchaser at the sale shall be entitled only to a return of the monies paid to the Trustee. This shall be the Purchaser’s sole and exclusive remedy. The purchaser shall have no further recourse against the Trustor, the Trustee, the Beneficiary, the Beneficiary’s Agent, or the Beneficiary’s Attorney. If you have previously been discharged through bankruptcy, you may have been released of personal liability for this loan in which case this letter is intended to exercise the note holders right’s against the real property only. BIDDERS: If you are considering bidding on this property lien, you should understand that there are risks involved in bidding at a trustee auction. You are encouraged to investigate the existence, priority, and size of outstanding liens that may exist on this property by contacting the

county recorder’s office or a title insurance company, either of which may charge you a fee for this information. If you consult either of these resources, you should be aware that the same lender may hold more than one mortgage or deed of trust on the property.

NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNER:

The sale date shown on this notice of sale may be postponed one or more times by the mortgagee, beneficiary, trustee, or a court, pursuant to Section 2924g of the California Civil Code. The law requires that information about trustee sale postponements be made available to you and to the public, as a courtesy to those not present at the sale. If you wish to learn whether your sale date has been postponed, and, if applicable, the rescheduled time and date for the sale of this property, you may call 866-539-4173 or visit this internet website www.ndscorp.com/sales, using the file number assigned to this case 24-30236-JP-CA. Information about postponements that are very short in duration or that occur close in time to the scheduled sale may not immediately be reflected in the telephone information or on the internet website. The best way to verify postponement information is to attend the scheduled sale.
