Situated behind City (ALL IT IS A 3ANTA #RUZ #OUNTY (ISTORICAL 4RUST ,ANDMARK AND is on the National Register OF (ISTORIC 0LACES 4HE HOUSE originally stood on Scotts Valley Drive, near where a Bank of America branch is now located. The area was the site of Santaâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Village, a Christmasthemed amusement park WHICH OPENED ON -AY

1957. There was a petting zoo, a bobsled ride, a whirling Christmas tree ride, and a train ride, as well as a Fairy Tale Land. The park was sold in 1966 but continued to be operated under lease by the Santaâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Village Corporation. The Borland building is now where Santaâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Village once was. The University of California at Santa Cruz has recently moved about 200 administrative employees to the Borland Building.

Scotts Valleyâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s most famous resident was film director Alfred Hitchcock, who lived in a mountaintop estate above THE 6INE (ILL AREA FROM TO 1972. The San Lorenzo Valley (SLV) is a mountainous RIVER VALLEY IN THE 3ANTA #RUZ -OUNTAINS IN 3ANTA Cruz County, California. The region grew round logging, mining, and railroad industries in the early 1900s.
