To the residents of Logan County I would like to take this opportunity to recognize and honor the many individuals that help serve and protect the property and lives of all the people in Logan County. I would like for each and every residentbof this County to ask themselves these questions in regards to our Law Enforcement, Firemen, EMS, andbOffice of Emergency Services. In regards to Law Enforcement: Would you put yourself in a position to where each and every day you put on your uniform, badge, and gun to go to work not knowing the danger of what the next call or traffic stop you will encounter. Would you risk going to a call where there is a mentally unstable individual who wants to take his or her own life or the lives of others? Would you want to go to work knowing that the split second decisions you have to make will impact you and the life of others for the rest of your life? Would you like to go to work knowing that people are going to mock you, belittle you, or curse you for the decisions you make? Would you want to go to work knowing that at any given moment you will have to put your life on the line to save or protect the life of a complete stranger? In regards to the Firemen and First Responders: Would you want to spend endless hours of training after you have worked all day and on weekends? Would you be willing to get called out all hours of the day and night, using your own vehicle, to go get into a firetruck, and go rescue someone or their property from a burning structure? Would you be willing to be called out in the middle of the night to go and administer aid to someone until the ambulance arrived knowing that you still had to go to work the next day? Would you be willing to go to an accident scene knowing that people are hurting and wanting relief from their pain or situation? Would you be willing to do all this knowing that you are doing it for free? In regards to our EMS: Would you be willing to go to work knowing that on every call, someone’s life depends on the decisions that you make? Would you be willing to go to work knowing that you will be dealing with people who are hurting, dying mentally unstable, bleeding, and contagious from various types of diseases and attempting to treat them in the back of an ambulance traveling 80 miles per hour down the highway? In regards to the Office of Emergency Services: Would you be willing to spend endless hours of training to prepare for any and all types of disasters knowing the decisions you make may reflect on every citizen in Logan County? Would you be willing to get out of bed in the middle of the night to go monitor the weather in case of a tornado, flood or other natural disaster? Would you be willing to prepare all the documents needed after a disaster to assist the residents in Logan County to receive FEMA aid? Would you be willing to prepare the paperwork needed to receive grants for radio’s, repeater’s, towers, and other necessary equipment to keep our Law Enforcement, Firemen, and EMS, safe? I have listed a small portion of what each group listed above is responsible for. I think as a citizen of this County we should appreciate the job each and every one does and thank them for what they do. I urge each one of us to pray that God will camp his guardian angels around each individual and protect them as they serve to protect us.

Logan County Judge, Ray Gack

of Corporral Dale Sh harp pe proudly served the Booneville Police Department for nearly 25 years. He was a great Officer and touched many lives. Before coming to Booneville he served in the United Sates Army and was an Officer for the Military Police. After the Army he began a civilian career as an Officer in Missouri. Sadly he left us on November 3rd, 2019 after being diagnosed with cancer. Corporal Sharpe was one of a kind and dedicated to the job.

Thank you Corporal and you are truly missed. Rest easy Little Buddy! FS-0001312895-01
