Garden Styling
Jazzing up your garden with strategically placed pots brimming with show-stopping colour is a great way to make a favourable first impression on friends and relatives. Choose long flowering varieties such as Mandevilla as the centre piece in large pots, and mix and match smaller varieties such as Coleus and Vincas around them. Similarly add colourful, long flowering plants such Salvias and Hibiscus to beds, or native plants for their added biodiversity and habitat value.

I love to have them adorning my home and although I treat them as an annual, they still look good six months later, which is much better value than a bunch of flowers. Other plants which make great gifts are Hydrangeas for shady gardeners, Frangipanis for sun lovers, Callas for bulb lovers, and Peace Lilies (Spathiphyllum) being such a hardy, versatile indoor plant that suits everyone.
