FACEJAM MERCHANDISING For The Spice Rats
Illustrator, Web, Apparel A design which originally started as fan art for the podcast series known as “Face Jam”, a fortnightly audio comedy podcast of the serious discussion of limited-edition Fast-food items and friends having a good time produced by Rooster Teeth Productions, LLC. The podcast stars voice actor/comedian Michael Jones, Voice actor/animator Jordan Cwierz, and Producer Eric Baudour with guest star audio engineer/sauce monkey Nick Schwartz. The art was based off a joke Jordan made about the levels of spiciness people like in their food from Episode 16, “Burger King Spicy Nuggets”; He compared it to a “Spice Rat” with higher and lowers of this being “Spice Mouse” and “Spice Rat King”. I took to that and sketched a fairly simple rat design with the little elements of spice that are a breath of fire and a chili pepper; inspired by strong ink work and classic tattoos. After publishing it to a community site, the head director of Rooster Teeth Productions LLC reached out to me and bought the art as a commission to use for merchandising rights. Later on down the process, the shirt was produced and released to the public during the podcast’s special event live streams to celebrate the closing of the convention and receiving of their offical van. The shirt sold out within the hours and is currently awaiting a restock. These shirts are available at:
HEYWOOD EDIBLE ESSENTIALS BRANDING Everything Your Kitchen Needs
Indesign, Illustrator, Branding, Web, Package This brand identity was designed for a farm-based food company that was selling kitchen essentials such as bread, milk, eggs, and butter. The brand was called Heywood Edible Essentials and I was in charge of design all branding, package variants for all the products, website, advertising for both web and print, and a brand style guide. The logo was inspired the farm esthetic by a badge logo with the rising sun and a barn on a hill. The package keeps the aesthetic with the logo, a black and white chalkboard type background, and a variant color to show differing products such as milk fat contents, types of bread wheat and butter types; making it clearly eye-catching on the shelves compared to the competition. Banner ads, Instagram ads, and magazine full page ads were designed to show the product and the aesthetic of the brand. A website has also been designed show cases the company and its story, the product library, a product locator, and recipes.

AVENIR IN 3D 2D Typographical Print with Another Dimension Illustrator, Book, Print A small print type specimen booklet which is designed to demonstrate and explain the history, anatomy, and usage of the san-serif font Avenir. Avenir is a well-known geometric san serif font and the book is designed to sell clients on the font. It was inspired by the classic anaglyphic style of the red and blue 3D effect used on older movies and print media like comic books, complete with its own pair of classic 3D glasses. Each page of the book is dedicated to explaining a part of the font from the history, to the usage, to the anatomy, to the styles/weight, and even famous usage in the real world; along with a page dedicated to an inspirational quote and stylized photography edited in the same style. It achieves a 3D effect through anaglyphic effect combined with classic red and blue glasses. This can be seen on type, anaglyphic vector images, and layered photoshopped original pictures. The target audience for this is a business market group who work in large corporate design; This would allow them to see the type in a new light and how it can be used.
DOWN & GRITTY Southern Cooking Done Right Illustrator, Branding, Print Branding and Print materials for a pop-up southern style home cooking restaurant. It was the job of my design team of four to construct a brand for the restaurant, menus, digital marketing materials, print materials, and menus that are both table and poster sized. I headed the logo design for this project meeting the clients requests and wants for the brand; It was done in a vintage yet modern style like a stamp with clean modern type and included symbols such as fire and chicken. This was used in all the materials related to the restaurant that my team and I worked on including posters, social media posts, review cards, opening event admission tickets, and menus. Within my team, I was in charge of designing all digital screen flyers, social media posts and aided in the construction of the laser engraved wood backing for the menus.
DEATH OF TELEVISION Digitial Article Gone Print Illustrator, Book, Print A small demonstration of print skills as a Forbes digital article is converted to a print format. This was a lesson in print format that came out very strong in showing print formatting skill. I chose a two-column format to break up the article information, so it is most readable and a clean san-serif font to be readable as a title and body copy. In addition to this, the article features related imagery to help illustrate the topic of the decline of television as a media: a homage to the Netflix home screen with handmade graphic and the article title, vector stylized timeline graphic for the history of television to show, and stock images reflecting the topic to fill space and not leave the page feeling empty in certain areas.
Paul Renner
Futura was orginally designed in 1927 by Paul Renner. It was based around basic geometric shapes, making it classified as geometric san serif. This was representative of the Bauhaus art movement going on. Renner did not consider himself part of the Bauhaus art movement but, he was against the past styles of typeface with their slender nature and constant changing of line weights.

This can be seen in strong geometric styling with bold and bright color choice of red and yellow. The other poster shows off another san-serif font, Didot. To show off its classic styling, it uses alternating colors of a light shade of tan and a dark shade of brown to demonstrate its class and age. This was made to replicate the style of older literature like 1800’s naval maps. On both of the posters shown, you can see the brief description featuring uses, the creator, when it was created and type anatomy icons showing off specific elements unique to the type. The audience for these pieces is anyone who enjoys type/simple designs. I validate the effectiveness of it being appealing to the eye, informative, and a clean design.

The video is completely animated based on lyrics and vector-based graphics to reflect the lyrics of the song as they appear on screen. All of the graphics in the video were made by me in Illustrator to emphasize and visualize the words while keeping the flow of the video. A strong example of this is the red graphic for fire on the blue background engulfs the whole screen which turns the background red; slowly going from red to purple and back to blue.

TN STUDIO SHIRTS Live from CottonBureau.com Illustrator, Web, Apparel
A Series of designed t-shirts with geometric designs sold online through the website, Cotton Bureau. All the designs were inspired by the world around me. One of the designs and most popular is “Equilateral”. It is a plain white design screen-printed and available in dark colored cotton shirts, tri-blend shirts, tank tops, and sweatshirts. It was originally based on simple sketch made from incomplete squares and inspired by series of minimalist designs/ tattoos. Another of the shirt design was “Broken Heart”. It is an anatomical looking heart done in a fragmented design of red and gray rectangular shapes. It was screen-printed on it. The design was a reprise on one of my original design in the same style. The next design and the newest is “Graphic T-Shirt”. It is a shirt with a handwritten looking kanji that translates to “Graphic T-shirt”. It is screenprinted, available in multiple colors and inspired by Japanese Kanji as well as Kohei Horikoshi, a Japanese Comic Book artist. On the more illustrative side, the design, “Dead Media” was inspired by graphic street art, punk rock and an introspective look at the current state of the world and tech. The final design is my stylistic representation of the Black Lives matter symbol; All proceeds of the shirt went straight back into donations and raised over 400 dollars for the cause. The audience for these pieces is anyone who enjoys simple designs and fans of Japanese Culture. There is nothing else to add to it; All of these reach a younger audience of 14-40 with fans of geometric and nerdy designs. These shirts are available at:
