HUE AND CRY Friday 12th September at 7.30pm Tickets £16
Hue and Cry make their Gwyn Hall debut with this piano and vocal show. Hue and Cry burst onto the UK music scene in the late 1980’s with the outstandingly successful albums ‘Seduced and Abandoned’ and ‘Remote’. This period saw the band produce some of their most auspicious hit singles such as ‘Labour of Love’, ‘Violently’, and ‘Looking for Linda’. Their award winning style of intellectual, yet appealing pop songs, fused with their unique brand of soulfulness gave rise to their continued success. To date, Hue and Cry have performed alongside some of the most prolific names in the business including U2, James Brown, Van Morrison, Madonna and Al Green, as well as playing to thousands on their own headline tours and by their own admission Hue and Cry have no intention of slowing down.
Hue and Cry yn Neuadd Gwyn am y tro cyntaf gyda’r sioe piano a lleisiol yma. Neidiodd Hue and Cry ar sîn gerdd y DdU yn hwyr yn yr 1980au gyda’u albymau eithriadol o lwyddiannus ‘Seduced an Abandoned’ a ‘Remote’. Mae eu steil deallus o ganeuon pop apelgar, ynghyd â’u brand unigryw o gerddoriaeth ddwys, wedi bod yn gyfrifol am eu llwyddiant parhaol. Hyd yn hyn, mae Hue and Cry wedi perfformio gyda rhai o’r enwau mwyaf epilgar yn y busnes gan gynnwys U2, James Brown, Van Morrison, Madonna ac Al Green, yn ogystal â chwarae i filoedd ar eu teithiau eu hunain ac yn ôl nhw eu hunain nid yw Hue and Cry yn bwriadu arafu.

Wednesday 17th – Thursday 18th September at 7.30pm Tickets £12
Bernard, a high flying government official, is desperately trying to get some time alone with his mistress, Brigitte. Jacqueline, his wife, is desperately trying (in between crashing the car and buying antiques) to get some time alone with her lover Robert. When each thinks the other is away for the weekend they both see it as the perfect opportunity to turn playing away into a home fixture. Keeping the peace is their housekeeper who is desperately trying to get a quiet weekend - without her employers!
Mae Bernard, uwch swyddog y llywodraeth, yn gwneud ei orau glas i wario amser gyda’i feistres, Brigitte. Mae Jacqueline, ei wraig, yn gwneud ei gorau glas (rhwng chwalu’r car a phrynu hen bethau) i wario amser gyda’i chariad Robert. Pan mae’r ddau yn credu bod y llall i ffwrdd dros y penwythnos maent yn gweld hyn fel y cyfle perffaith i droi chwarae bant i fod yn gêm gartref. Yn cadw trefn mae eu howsgiper sy’n gwneud ei gorau glas i gael penwythnos tawel – heb ei chyflogwyr!
The weekend turns out to be chaos as the complications grow around mistaken identities, ridiculous situations and trousers around ankles which all adds up to predictably hilarious results.
Mae’r penwythnos yn troi’n anrhefnus iawn wrth i’r cymhlethdodau dyfu o gwmpas camadnabod, sefyllfaoedd chwerthinllyd a throwseri o gwmpas pigyrnau gyda chanlyniadau doniol disgwyliadwy.
Set in the stylish world of 70’s Parisian society, this fast-moving farce will leave audiences breathlessly delighted!
Wedi ei gosod yng nghymdeithas Paris y 70au, bydd y ffars wyllt yma’n gadael cynulleidfaoedd yn hapus os yn fyr o wynt!

10-16 yrs
“Superb, a stunning range of instrumental ability…classy stuff in the style of Louis Jordan and Eddie Cleanhead Vinson, with nowt taken out.” Dave Clarke, Now Dig This
Rough, tough and always rocking, the legendary King Pleasure and The Biscuit Boys’ zany stage show sometimes belies the fact that here is the finest, most authentic rhythm & blues band ever to come from outside the USA. As anyone who has followed their astonishing career knows, the band carries a guarantee of great swinging music and high entertainment value. This year the high-octane jump and jive band have, as always, been spreading their message throughout Europe promoting their 11th Big Bear CD Live at Last! Swta, caled a wastad yn rocio, mae’r sioe lwyfan chwedlonol ‘King Pleasure and The Biscuit Boys’ weithiau’n cuddio’r ffaith mai hwn yw un o’r bandiau ‘rhythm & blues’ mwyaf dilys a’r gorau i ddod allan o rywle heblaw America. Fel y mae unrhyw un sydd wedi dilyn eu gyrfa rhyfeddol yn gwybod, mae’r band yn gwarantu cerddoriaeth ‘swing’ mawr ac adloniant o safon. Eleni mae’r band neidio a jeifio, yn ôl eu harfer, wedi lledaenu’r neges drwy Ewrop gan hybu eu 11fed CD ‘Big Bear Live at Last’!

EDUCATING RONNIE Thursday 9th October at 7.30pm Tickets £10 £8 Concession £5 Student

Created by Joe Douglas and Gareth Nicholls, produced by macrobert and Utter. In 2002, Joe went on a gap year trip to Uganda, to visit an aunt who was working for a charity. Amidst the six week blur of safaris, white-water rafting and orphanages, Joe made friends with Ronnie....Ronnie was 16, Joe was 18. They were both the eldest sons of large families. They both supported Manchester United. Six months later, back in Manchester, Joe got a text:
“Brother my sponsor has pulled out on me and I want to stay in school. Can you help? Ronnie x” That text was to change both of their lives and inextricably link them together. An astonishing true story performed by Joe himself, Educating Ronnie takes place over a decade: 4000 miles apart and thousands of pounds invested, it explores the murky processes behind bettering oneself in Uganda.

Crewyd gan Joe Douglas a Gareth Nicholls, cynhyrchwyd gan Macrobert ac Utter. Yn 2002, aeth Joe ar daith blwyddyn allan i Uganda, i ymweld â modryb oedd yn gweithio i elusen. Yn ystod y chwe wythnos o saffaris, rafftio dŵr-gwyllt a chartrefi plant amddifad, daeth Joe yn ffrindiau gyda Ronnie ... roedd Ronnie’n 16, Joe yn 18. Roedd y ddau’n feibion hynaf mewn teuluoedd mawr. Roedd y ddau’n cefnogi Manchester United. Chwe mis yn ddiweddarach, yn ôl ym Manceinion, derbyniodd Joe tecst:
“Brawd mae fy noddwr wedi tynnu allan arna i a dwi eisiau aros yn yr ysgol. Ti’n gallu helpu? Ronnie x” Roedd y tecst yna’n mynd i newid bywydau’r ddau ohonynt a’u cysylltu gyda’i gilydd yn llwyr. Dyma stori wir sy’n cael ei hadrodd gan Joe ei hunan, mae Educating Ronnie yn cymryd rhan dros ddegawd: 4000 milltir ar wahân a buddsoddiad o filoedd o bunnoedd, yn archwilio’r prosesau cymylog tu ôl i wella’ch hunan yn Uganda.

A one-man show starring worldrenowned actor Simon Callow.
Sioe un-dyn gyda’r actor byd-enwog Simon Callow.
Of all the stories ever told Of all the figures in history Of all the men that have lived
Of all the stories ever told Of all the figures in history Of all the men that have lived
Look at Jesus through the eyes of those around him: his mother, brother and followers, the political and religious elite. What do you see? The Son of God or a Jewish terrorist? A poet-philosopher or a fraud? Whoever the man Jesus was, he inspired the history of the world.
Edrych ar Iesu trwy lygaid y rhai o’i gwmpas: ei fam, brawd a dilynwyr, gwleidyddion a chrefyddwyr elitaidd. Beth maent yn ei weld? Mab Duw neu derfysgwr Iddewig? Bardd-athronydd neu dwyllwr? Pwy bynnag oedd y dyn Iesu, fe ysbrydolodd hanes y byd?
One of the leading stage and screen actors of his generation, Simon Callow takes on the role of his life in a deeply moving new play that examines the character of Jesus.
Un o brif actorion llwyfan a sgrîn ei genhedlaeth, mae Simon Callow wedi cymryd rôl ei fywyd mewn drama newydd gyffrous sy’n edrych ar gymeriad yr Iesu.
Playwright Matthew Hurt described his motivation for this thoughtprovoking drama.

Disgrifiodd y dramodydd Matthew Hurt ei gymhelliant dros y ddrama gyffrous hon.
“
“Since childhood I’ve been attracted to the stories of the Bible. Whenever I go back and re-read them, I’m struck by how unexpected, almost unknowable, they are – even the familiar ones. What I hope we are able to do with The Man Jesus is take us back to the precise moment in history when he was living and experience his story as I imagine it felt and looked to the characters around him.” “Ers plentyndod dwi wedi cael fy swyno gan storiau o’r Beibl. Bob tro byddai’n mynd yn ôl a’u hailddarllen, dwi’n cael fy nharo gan pa mor annisgwyl, bron yn anwybodadwy y maent – hyd yn oed y rhai cyfarwydd. Beth dwi’n gobeithio gallwn wneud gyda Y Dyn Iesu yw ein cymryd yn ôl i’r union amser yn hanes pan yr oedd yn byw a phrofi ei stori fel dwi’n dychmygu gwnaeth y rhai o’i gwmpas.”

This is a Christmas Show for children based on the heroic journey by the Welsh to Patagonia on board the former tea-clipper the Mimosa and their brave tales trying to establish a Welsh Settlement under such harsh conditions and in a country so far away. In 2015 we will celebrate the 150th anniversary of that legendary voyage to Porth Madryn in southern Argentina. This is an excellent way for young Welsh children to learn about the event itself and its background. The main leaders of the period will be obvious characters in the show eg Lewis Jones (the Lewis in Trelew). The pretty princess will be his daughter Elen. The Spanish will cause problems with their harsh laws (not wholly true) and the Welsh receive help, respect and friendship from the indigenous Indians the Tehuelches (true). They will also learn about the traditions and culture, the terrain of the Andes and the strange animals - the Guanacos, the Armadillos (the dulog as they are called there today) and the mountain lion the Puma. The show will be full of colour, song and dance, tension and upheaval, evil with goodness and love reigning eventually. The purpose of the show is to entertain and thrill the children but through it educating them about establishing the Colony in 1865.

But when one of his little accidents looks like it might have ruined Christmas for good he is stripped of his Christmas Elf title and banished from The North Pole forever. Alone and cold and with just twelve days left until Santa sets off on his sleigh, can a host of friendly strangers including a drummer, a piper, a milk maid and a partridge in a pear tree help him get back home and put things right? Based on the ever popular Christmas Carol this charming, sing along musical takes a heart warming look at the true meaning of Christmas through a magical mixture of games, giggles and feel-good family fun (not to mention all your favourite festive songs!) So join Chris and his friends and together let’s make sure that, this time round, Christmas really is the most wonderful time of the year!
Mae Christopher y Corrach Nadolig druan yn llechtwith iawn. ’Dyw e methu helpu ei hunan. Ond pan mae’n edrych fel petai un o’i ddamweiniau wedi distrywio’r Nadolig am byth mae’n colli ei deitl Corrach Nadolig a’i chael ei anfon o Begwn y Gogledd am byth. Yn unig ac yn oer gyda deuddeg diwrnod yn unig cyn i Santa gychwyn ar ei sled, gall criw o estroniaid cyfeillgar gan gynnwys drymiwr, pibydd, morwyn laeth a phetrisen mewn coeden beren ei helpu’n ôl adref a chywiro pethau? Yn seiliedig ar y garol Nadolig boblogaidd mae’r sioe gerdd hyfryd hon yn edrych ar wir ystyr y Nadolig gyda chymysgedd hudolus o gemau, giglan a hwyl teimlad da teuluol (heb sôn am eich hoff ganeuon tymhorol!) Felly ymunwch â Chris a’i ffrindiau a gyd a’n gilydd gwnawn yn siwr, y tro yma, bydd y Nadolig yn wirioneddol amser hyfryd o’r flwyddyn! ^

Martyn Geraint
“PWS MEWN BWTS” Dydd Llun 15fed Rhagfyr am 10am a 1pm Monday 15th December at 10am and 1pm Tocynnau £10 £9 Consesiwn £8 Ysgolion Tickets £10 £9 Concession £8 Schools
“Pws Mewn Bwts” - Cwmni Martyn Geraint a Theatrau Rhondda Cynon Taf “Pws Mewn Bwts” yw teitl pantomeim Martyn Geraint ar gyfer 2014. Mae’r stori’n dilyn helyntion Jac - mab tlawd i felinydd y pentre a’i gath hudol! Unwaith eto, bydd Martyn Geraint yn chwarae rhan y “Dame” - Diolch Croeso - cogydd gwaetha Cymru. Ac wedi llwyddiant ysgubol sioe “Draw Dros y Don” y llynedd, [sgoriodd 9.5 allan o 10 yn y ffurflenni adborth] rydym yn gobeithio creu sioe llawn lliw, hiwmor, cerddoriaeth, dawns a rhyngweithio unigryw’r theatr ar eich cyfer CHI - teuluoedd, ysgolion, plant a phobl ifanc Cymru - felly dewch yn llu ar gyfer rhan bwysig o addysg ddiwylliannol ein plant ac er mwyn creu atgofion fydd yn para’n hirach nag unrhyw gofnod o ddata ac ystadegau ! Rydym yn teimlo fod y panto yn fwyaf addas ar gyfer plant rhwng Blwyddyn 1 a Blwyddyn 6 yr Ysglion Cynradd. Ond wedi ymateb arbennig iawn gan ddisgyblion Blwyddyn 7-13 yn y gorffennol, rydym yn hyderus bod pantomeim Cymraeg a Chymreig Cwmni Martyn Geraint hefyd yn addas i grwpiau o ddysgwyr a disgyblion Ysgol Uwchradd sy’n astudio Cymraeg, Drama neu Astudiaethau’r Cyfryngau.
"Pws Mewn Bwts" - is a Welsh version of the famous Puss in Boots adventure. The tall tale tells of a poor miller’s son, Jac, who is left little in his father’s will except a very talented Cat. After the roaring success of his debut as Dame last year, Martyn Geraint will spend another winter in his posh frocks - which are worth the ticket price alone! As usual there'll be much fun, music, dance, special effects and interactivity for all the family and after the huge success of last year's panto [which scored a massive 9.5 out of 10 in our audience feedback forms] we hope to see our evergrowing audience leaving with even bigger smiles on their faces. Martyn Geraint’s Welsh language Pantomime is also a great show for those who are learning Welsh !!
