Letter from the Editor After exploring our color forecast, we take our analysis a step further and look at how these color palettes are being seen on the runway, ‘Right at Retail’, as well as how they translate into street style, or ‘How She Wears It’. This is where we will take you in our ‘How She Wears It’ portion of our A/W 17/18 forecast. Continuing with our influence & inspiration from consumers’ behavior in the travel sense, and other societal trends, as well as well-researched color & fashion trends, current & future, we will reveal our forecast of how this trend is being worn in an overall fashion sense. Again, we will be going over our pastel palette, ‘Sweet Serendipity’, our neutral palette, ‘The Great Escape’, our bright palette, ‘Playful Pause’, and last, but not least, our dark palette, ‘Treasure Hunt’. Each of these color stories touches on different aspects of travel & exploration, and within the color stories we will dive further into fabrications that accompany these trends in how the consumer wears it. SWEET SERENDIPITY Sweet Serendipity is a color palette that makes us want to twirl. Light, sweet, pretty pastels make up this color story, giving us a whimsical feeling in the process. This palette draws it’s inspiration from serendipitous travel, taking a chance, going where your feet take you and being completely at ease with where you end up. Consumers are beginning to take interest in the idea of chance playing a role in their travel plans; new websites are coming to head where you can simply enter in your budget and the site plans your entire getaway for you. From sky pink to serene green, let Sweet Serendipity roll over you like a soft wave. Then flow on and see where the wave takes you, being at peace with your new adventure. The fabrication of this color story accompanies the sweet and soft palette perfectly. Soft, feminine silhouettes flow beautifully underneath a layered, fluffly coat. Feathery, soft appearance, and an even softer feel, this trend is sweet & blissful, leaving us with that whimsical feeling of chance and adventure. ROSE WATER

THE GREAT ESCAPE The Great Escape gives us the relaxing getaway we’ve been yearning for. This color story is heavily based around relaxing travels, such as a rejuvinating spa retreat or a solo beach getaway. The palette also draws it’s inspiration and influence from the healthy lifestyle that has become very popular among consumers recently. Soft neutrals make up this color story, ranging from delicate tans to a sweet accent green; the colors give a feeling of serenity, rejuvination and relaxation. Whether you are enjoying a mud mask with a fresh rose water in hand, or lounging in the warm beach sand, listening to waves crash, allow the peacefulness of this palette take over. Relax and enjoy. The fabrication of this color story is light and airy, just like its palette. Playful pause is a color palette that emcompasses the action of taking a break to enjoy your surroundings. Bright, playful, exciting and fun, this color palette brings sunshine and happiness into our days, filling us with positive energy and an appreciation for our beautiful world. With digital media being an all-consuming factor in our current society, it is necessary to step back and pause sometimes to appreciate the bigger picture. That is what this color story brings to the table. Complete with bright, bold and playful hues that are drawn from nature, this color story is a rainbow that we can’t wait to explore. Whether it’s admiring the beautiful colors of your city and it’s architecture, or stopping to smell the flowers and notcing just how bold the colors are in the plants, this color palette reminds us to take a break from our busy, fast, digitally-driven lives and admire the natural beauty that’s around us.

TREASURE HUNT Treasure Hunt captures our need for exploration, our constant hunt for something new and exciting-- whether that is an adventure, a different way to dress up, or new surroundings, this color pallete embodies this exciting hunt & exporation of life. Heavily based around adventurous travel, music festivals, new innovation & techniques in art, such as outdoor illumination art, as well as a fascination with dressing up and adopting a new persona, this color palette brings excitement and adventure into our lives. Bring onthe night-life, the music, the velvet and suede. We are going exploring on our treasure hunt for something new & different . The fabrication of this color palette consists of a heavier feel to go hand-in-hand with the deep hues. Fabircs such as velvet, suede, and fur flow into this trend and this color palette. There are also heavy amounts of layering, commonly seen in festival fashion and in winter months; many of these fabrics may be layered upon others or stitched & decorated with leather & fringe.
