WARDA MARICA Be happy with YOU”
What she could give a new life”
W arda Marica, a jeweler by profession but creative soul overall, also serves as Fashion Director for one of
the faster growing fashion weeks in the region, Suriname Fashion Week Warda is born and raised in Paramaribo, Suriname. She lived in Suriname until 1995 and then moved to Belgium. In Belgium she got in touch with her creative side as she took the course of ‘Methalsmith-Jeweller’ in Antwerp, Belgium. Her passion in life, as she states, has always been “Life itself - Be happy with YOU”. It is therefore that Warda designs her jewelry for people that not only love life but also are happy with themselves and try to achieve a few goals they have set. Warda started designing about 13 years ago. Her designs are characteristically made of a big centerpiece in silver, finished with gemstones, stamps, plastic bags, textiles and whatever material she finds suitable. Like most designers she gets inspiration at any moment, and besides she also has her sketchbook with her all the time as according to her a collection is often born suddenly and not often planned. As there is a lot of waste material, she looked around to see what she could give a new life and could reuse. That is how the ‘ReCycle Art’ collection (2014) was born. In her first collection of 2014, she is using plastic bags that she turns into beads. Warda Marica jewelry is ‘wearable’ and for all times. She designs for everybody, people of all ages, with different styles, from different parts of the society, just for all men and women that want to have a piece of Warda Marica Jewelry. In her own words, her target group is simply YOU The highlight for the fashion director and jeweler has been seeing the interest in Suriname Fashion Week grow and there is lots more planned as they move forward. The event will be organized for the 5th year. It’s testament to what a mindset of cooperation can bring to a country that sees the benefit of working together to truly create something that peaks the interest of the public and draws in talent and tourists alike. As a result, Miss Regio title winners and multiple runners up have a bright career. Not only successful in contests, but also as glamour-, cover-, catwalk-, catalogue-, photomodel. Miss Regio Nederland models have been making their mark in the fashionworld. Their popularity grew with the support of the publicity of Miss Regio Nederland. Michaëlla A’solo freelanced into fashion since 13 years’old. She opened her first private sales at 24 and her first boutique came a few months later. She studied law and works in this field. She is also a designer but first and foremost she is a creative person and believes you can be anything you want to be. When God allows there is no turning back. Michaëlla was born in Madagascar and raised there until the age of 10. She then moved to live in Tanzania, from there to the South of France to England and to the Netherlands. All the places she grew up in or visited, in her own words : are a source of pure unaltered inspiration. “I am always in awe of God’s awesome creations. It is inspiring. “I.ari stems from Michaëlla’s middle name. A name she inherited from a very special grandmother. It coincidentally has the root of the word “to create” in Malagasy. So Michaëlla decided it is more that fitting to name an extension of herself, her creations, her brand after ARI. www.iari-creation.com

7 Tips For The Perfect Runway Walk Posture: Think tall. While walking, stand up straight leaning slightly back so your legs can go first. Keep your toes pointed forward, so they aren’t turned out. Then walk with one foot in front of the other as if walking on a tightrope. Hips: Most people think you need to do a lot of hip swaying. Your hips will move naturally so exaggeration isn’t necessary. Arms: Let your arms swing naturally. However, take care they are not too stiff or have big movement. The clothing you have on will help you decide what to do with your hands, you may need to hold something or stick one in a pocket. Attitude!: Be commanding and flirty. This will make you fun for the audience. Rhythm: Get into a rhythm and let the loud music be your upting motivation. When a natural bounce to the beat happens add to it by thinking about holding your head high and keeping your shoulders back. Eyes: You should never look down. Always look straight ahead at the cameras or pick a spot on the wall ahead of you so you won’t get distracted by anything else distracting around you. Posing: Be unique with your posses ,it realy depent on the design,if you

1. CTM IS ESSENTIAL Like women, the CTM routine (cleansing, toning and moisturising) is just as important for men. They are exposed to pollution, car exhaust, cigarette smoke and other pollutants on a daily basis, which damage the skin. Also, men tend to have oilier and thicker skin than women. They need to use a good facial cleanser that works on all kinds of skin. Cleansing is essential to sanitize your skin and eliminate dead skin cells. Use mild cleanser that cleanses the skin without drying it. Men are lazy to wash their face before going to the bed and that causes comedone. Cleansing is must to avoid whitehead, blackhead and acne. And for toning, you can even use a basic rose water potion.
And moisturizing helps to treat to prevents cracks, dry and dull skin. Itchy skin is painful and to heal such skin type it is important to apply thick moisturizing cream on your skin and body. Thick moisturizer doesn’t mean greasy formula, there are moisturizers that are light and keep your skin protected for long hours.
BEAUTY 2. ALWAYS APPLY SUNSCREEN Another thing men tend to ignore is the sunscreen. You must apply a sunscreen with minimum SPF 30. It is not the heat that causes tanning but the sun rays that spoils the colour and texture of your skin. To minimize tanning, apply it on your face as well as hands. Make sure you apply the suncreen 15 minutes before heading out, so it gets absorbed better. 3. EXFOLIATE DAILY Exfoliation is crucial to eliminate dead skin cells from accumulating and causing bacterial infection on your skin. If you do not scrub your skin, your pores will build up dirt, causing your skin to break out more often. Acing the list of 'beauty tips for men' is exfoliating the skin. Removing dead cells from the skin's surface leaves the face radiant and healthy. Once a week, one should use a gentle but granulated face scrub to help smoothen the skin and eliminate dullness. Another advantage of exfoliating the face is that it softens the hair follicles, which results in a smoother shave and minimal irritation. For normal to combination skin type, use a cream-based scrub or a gel-based scrub to eliminate dirt from your face. 4. AVOID WRINKLES The skin around the eyes, especially, lacks in sweat and oil glands; making it highly susceptible to under-eye dehydration. This manifests as fine lines and wrinkles eventually. To prevent this, dab a little hydrating eye cream around your peepers every morning and before bedtime. Choose from the various men's eye creams available in the market Beauty of Arts Magazine | 31

10 secrets to cooking healthier
8. Slim down homemade ice cream For rich, smooth ice cream that’s lower in calories and fat than regular ice cream, we use low-fat milk thickened with gelatin. It mimics the texture of full-fat ice cream, but cuts about 90 calories and 10 grams saturated fat (50 percent of our daily limit) per 1/2-cup serving.
Cup for cup, thickened low-fat milk saves more than 680 calories and 53 grams saturated fat vs. heavy cream! For creamy salads, such as potato salads, opt for low-fat mayonnaise and/or reduced-fat sour cream; a blend of the two tastes great. One tablespoon regular mayo has 90 calories and 10 grams fat vs. 15 calories and 1 gram fat in low-fat mayo.
9. Add grains or vegetables to meaty dishes To keep ground meat dishes like meatloaf or burgers satisfying without tipping the calorie scale, we add whole grains (like bulgur or brown rice) or diced vegetables (like mushrooms or peppers) to the meat to bulk up portion size. It’s also a great way to get more grains and vegetables into your diet—foods we typically don’t get enough of. Try adding 3/4 to 1 cup cooked grains or diced vegetables for each pound of meat.
2. Try cooking with less oil Extra-virgin olive oil and canola oil are our go-to, heart-healthy oils for many recipes. But they still pack about 120 calories per tablespoon, so we use them judiciously. Try adding less oil to your favorite sauté, salad or soup recipe. When cooking on the stovetop, cast-iron, nonstick or enamel-coated skillets and pans let you use the least amount of oil with very little sticking.
10. Reduce cheese, keep the flavor Using less cheese gives any dish an easy health upgrade. Opt for bold-flavored cheeses, such as extra-sharp Cheddar, goat cheese and Parmigiano-Reggiano, to give more flavor impact with fewer calories and less fat.
3. Get crispy “fried” food without the grease Skip deep-frying and try our oven-frying technique: Dip chicken, fish or vegetables in milk, buttermilk or egg, dredge in seasoned flour or breadcrumbs, then coat with canola or olive oil cooking spray. Place on a wire rack set on a baking sheet and bake at 425° to 450°F until crispy. Two pieces of our oven-fried chicken have about 40 percent fewer calories and 4 grams less saturated fat than two pieces of traditional fried chicken. 4. Amp up flavor without the salt shaker The USDA recommends limiting sodium consumption to less than 2,300 mg (1 teaspoon salt) per day. But keeping within that guideline can be tricky even if you make most of your meals at home. Replace some of the added salt in a recipe with sodium-free flavor-boosters like a squeeze of lemon or lime and/or chopped fresh herbs. Keep an eye on sodium in convenience products like canned broth, tomatoes and beans too. Often there is a lower-sodium option available, so check the nutrition panel to compare among brands. 5. Use whole grains in baked goods Replacing half the all-purpose flour in baked goods with whole-wheat flour adds fiber (12 more grams per cup) and boosts essential B vitamins, zinc and magnesium. Try using regular or white whole-wheat flour in muffins, breads and hearty cookies; use finer-textured whole-wheat pastry flour in cakes, pie crusts and delicate cookies. 6. Swap good fats for bad fats We love the taste of butter and know it can’t always be replaced completely, especially in baked goods, but to keep saturated fat in check, we use canola or olive oil instead of butter as much as possible. Tablespoon for tablespoon, butter has seven times more saturated fat than oil. Experiment with your favorite recipe by replacing at least half of the butter with oil.
Make creamy dishes without the cream Creamy sauces like those in fettuccine alfredo or homemade macaroni and cheese are often loaded with butter, heavy cream and/or cheese. We ditch heavy cream and make velvety sauces with low-fat milk that’s thickened with flour. To make your own cream substitute: Combine 1 cup low-fat milk with 4 teaspoons all-purpose flour; whisk over medium heat until bubbling and thick.
7. Go for egg whites in place of whole eggs An egg white has only 16 calories and 0 grams of fat compared with 54 calories and 5 grams of fat in an egg yolk. Try using 2 egg whites in place of 1 whole egg in almost any recipe. 34 | Beauty of Arts Magazine
