It’s Game On for the Chamber Business Show! It’s Game On for the Chamber Annual Business Show! The Tioga County Chamber of Commerce announced that Thursday, October 10, is the official day of Tioga Business 2013! This is the signature event of the chamber held at the Owego Treadway Inn. Each year the chamber brings together over 100 businesses for this exceptional event. It has become the region’s premier business-to-business trade show and it gives business an opportunity to showcase products and services and make new business contacts. This is a show you don’t want to miss, ask one of the many businesses
that have participated in the past. The Chamber of Commerce has received many positive comments over the years and they know the show will benefit local businesses. Rare Local Vehicles on Display at Tioga Museum
The restored 1914 O-We-Go Cyclecar made its debut at the 20th Annual Tioga Region Antique Car Show in 2005. Pictured above are Kathy & Joe Hatfield (seated), Ray Shaver, and Jim Mead, owner of the car. Hatfield is the grandson of Charles B. Hatfield, Jr., who founded the O-We-Go Cyclecar Company in Owego in 1914.
The Tioga County Historical Society invites you to visit their special limitedtime engagement of “Are We There Yet?: A History of Travel and Transportation in Tioga County”. This new exhibit features several rare locallymanufactured vehicles, including the “OWe-Go” cycle-car, an automobile powered by a motorcycle engine that used motorcycle wheels. This is the first time in years that the “O-We-Go” has been on public display in Tioga County. The cycle-car is on loan to the museum from local resident James Mead. Another centerpiece of the exhibit is a 1912 Monarch Motorcycle, crowned Miss Tioga Downs 2013, the manufactured in Owego by the Ives first runner up was Sunny Braman (right) Motorcycle Company. Also on display is from Greene, and the second runner up a full-sized carriage made in Owego, a Taylor Antczak (left) from New Berlin.
An Antique Car Show and Flea Market will take place on Sunday, August 18, from 9 am to 4 pm at the Hickories Park, Route 17c, Owego. Admission is $2 per person, free for children under 12. The show is
horse-drawn sleigh, a high-wheel bicycle, and one of the oldest known hand-cranked gas station pumps used in the early 1900s, and hundreds more artifacts and photographs. “Are We There Yet?: A History of Travel and Transportation in Tioga County” is on display now through the end of September. Admission is free to the museum, but donations are greatly appreciated. The Tioga County Historical Society Museum is open Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm.
