Stevens a Candidate for Tioga County Judge On June 29, Dorothy K. Stevens, Esq. announced her candidacy for Tioga County Judge. Stevens is a lifelong valley resident and has worked in human services for nearly 20 years before focusing her legal practice in criminal and family law. Her practice, in Waverly, for the past eight years is exclusively with Family Law in both the lower and higher courts. Stevens graduated from Sayre High School in 1972, Eastern College (now Eastern University) in 1976, and then went on for her Master’s work at the College of William and Mary, finishing her Juris Doctorate at St. John’s School of Law in 1996.

Assemblyman Gary D. Finch hosted a reception on June 26, 2012, to honor those who contributed during Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee. At the event, Assemblyman Finch and Assemblyman Chris Friend presented local dedicated neighbors, businesses and organizations with awards, including the Medal of Merit, the highest honor an assemblyman can bestow upon a citizen to honor their dedication and selfless service to those in need.
