Friday Night at the Depot The Friday night series at the Depot in Newark Valley continues on July 5 with a performance by the very popular and versatile entertainer Rich Wilson. Rich has performed from the stages of Las Vegas to Atlantic City and just about everywhere in between. He is probably best known for his ability to sing Elvis Presley songs as well as standards like those sung by Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett and Bobby Darin. On July 12, the Depot welcomes back hometown musician, Randy Miritello and The Horseshoe Lounge Playboys. Randy and his band have played with Arlo Gutherie, Levon Helm, Ricky Skaggs and recently opened for Willie Nelson at a concert at Hunter Mountain. Expect to hear powerful vocals backed by guitar, mandolin, fiddle acoustic bass and drums playing ácoust8c backwoods American rocking roots music. Nature photographer, Jerry Acton will be at the Depot on July 19 with a
slide show of birds and animals showing their varied behaviors and personalities in their natural habitat. Check out Jerry’s web site (jerryacton.com) where nearly every day he will post a new photo with a description of what is happening in the moment. On July 26, the Depot will come alive with Absolutely Reptacular as they bring an amazing collection of captive bred reptiles including geckos, bearded dragons, pythons, boas, lizards and tortoises. Rob Felt and Christina Costa will introduce over a dozen exotic species from all over the globe, several of which you can hold and take pictures of. The Depot in Newark Valley opens each Friday at 6:00 pm and the programs begin at 7:00 pm. Admission is free and refreshments are available. This project is made possible, in part with public funds from the NYS Council on the Arts’ Decentralization Program, administered locally by The ARTS Council of
