The Wall That Heals Visits Owego
The Wall That Heals, the traveling Vietnam Veterans Memorial and Museum, came to Owego on July 18, and was open to the public July 19 through July 22 at Owego Free

Apalachin Lions Club Awards
At the Apalachin Lions Club installation dinner on June 22, at the Owego Treadway, two worthy Lions received awards. Lion President John Whiting was awarded the Lion
of the Year 2011-2012 for his service to the club. Lion John Crosby was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellow award for his contributions to the club and the community.

The Food Bank of the Southern Tier and Price Chopper are teaming up to fight child hunger. Food collections will take place August 5 through August 22 at Price Chopper locations in Binghamton, Chenango, Endicott, Norwich, Owego, Sidney and Montrose, PA to benefit three area food banks. Throughout the food drive, customers can make a “back to school,” non-perishable food donation instore near the customer service coun-
ter. The Food Bank of the Southern Tier, Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York and Weinberg Northeast Regional Food Bank will be receiving the non-perishable donations and distributing them to hungry neighbors in need.
