St. Patrick School Donates to Boys & Girls Club
Each November, St. Patrick School in Owego hosts an auction, and part of the proceeds are donated to a local nonprofit organization. Members of the auction committee recently met with Mr. Luke Henson, Director of the Tioga County Boys & Girls Club, to present him with a $1,000 donation. school opened in 1859 with lay teachers. In 1869, the Sisters of Mercy came to Owego to teach at the school. The school is located in the old Stanbrough Mansion which has been expanded over the years by two additions - a two-storey brick addition was added next to the mansion in 1950, and a six-classroom addition was added in back of the mansion in 1967. St. Patrick School has classes for PreSchool, Pre-K, and Kindergarten through Grade Six. Financial Assistance is available. For more information, call the school at 687-1770.

Tioga Co. Rural Ministry Extends Great Thanks Tioga County Rural Ministry extends great thanks to everyone who shared so much of their resources – both tangible in food and financial donations and also wonderful gifts of time and energy. To the many families, organizations, churches, schools, businesses and individuals who lavished us with overflowing generosity, we thank you. Special thanks to Toys for Tots and their labor of love on behalf of our children. And thank you to the VFW for sharing their space with us for our toy distribution. To all who adopted families for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas, we are extremely grateful for your extra efforts to reach out in love and compassion.
And finally, a huge thanks to all of our volunteers who gave of their time with great magnanimity. We could not do what we do without you. Once again the expansive spirit of our community has offered hope and joy to those in need during the holiday season. May God’s gracious blessings touch and bless all in this new year of grace! Chamber of Commerce CPR Class The Tioga County Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a certification class in Adult, Child, and Infant Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillation (AED) on Thursday, February 20, 2015, from 8:00 to 11:00 am. The class will be presented by Tioga County Emergency Medical Services at
the Campville Fire Department, 6153 Rt. 17C, Endicott. The cost. which includes a 2 year certification, is $40 for Chamber members, $45 for non-members. Call the Tioga County Chamber of Commerce at 687-2020 by February 13 to reserve your spot.
