LIFELINES

“Christ’s blood reveals to man that his greatness, and therefore his vocation, consists in the sincere gift of self. …It is from the blood of Christ that all draw the strength to commit themselves to promoting life. It is precisely this blood that is the most powerful source of hope, indeed it is the foundation of the absolute certitude that in God’s plan life will be victorious.” ~ Pope Saint John Paul II, Evangelium vitae © 1995, Libreria Editrice Vaticana.

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ at the Feast of “CORPUS CHRISTI”. The Eucharist binds us all, as individuals and as a community, to observe the commandment of love. Christ established his covenant with each one of us as we received Baptism, we undertook to be faithful to him and He promised to lead us to salvation. It was a most serious agreement. Christ showed his love b sharing with us his own life, the life of the Holy Spirit. No one can accuse Jesus of having been unfaithful to his promise, but unfortunately, we have proved unfaithful to him time and again. But remember! Each time we celebrate the Eucharist, we are reminded of this covenant into which each one of us entered when we were baptized. It is not mere remembrance, each time we share in the Eucharist, Christ invites us to sign the covenant all over again, and we do it both as Individuals and as a community.
