CARE & EDUCATION OF PRIESTS

1ST ANNUAL FR. CAS STANIS GUN BINGO
Thank you to everyone who helped in any way with the Gun Bingo last Saturday evening. Thank you to Renee Coy for all her hard work organizing the event, Montrose Sporting Goods for their help and support, the Youth Group members for all their hard work, and to everyone who donated food. The biggest “THANK YOU” goes out to all those who bought tickets without you, the evening wouldn’t have been possible!! The evening was great fun and a big success!! The total profit was $ 5,616.15.
DIOCESAN ANNUAL APPEAL
Gifts of any size are welcome. Your participation is important to our success. Pledge cards are available in the back of the Churches. You can fill it out and place it in the collection basket or scan the QR code on the pledge card to make your gift online.
Our goal for 2023 remains $ 22,000.00. We have raised $ 7,165.00 (33% of our goal) and are under goal by $ 14,835.00.
CCD GRANT
Our CCD program is the lucky recipient of a grant from the Diocese of Scranton in the amount of $ 2,364.20. This will be a tremendous help to our CCD Program! Thank you very much to Amanda Reeves for taking the time to fill out the grant application. Amanda, your hard work on this and all things CCD are greatly appreciated!
“FALL FUND RAISER” RAFFLES
We are in the process of putting together our “Fall Fundraiser Raffle”. A few nice prizes have been donated already. If you have an item you would like to donate, or if you would like to donate money towards a prize, please contact Kay at the Rectory (570-553-2288) as soon as possible.
DONATIONS FOR BASKET O’CHEER
Donations of IRISH libations or monetary donations are being sought in order to put together an IRISH “Basket O’ Cheer”. If you would like to make a monetary donation, please put it in the collection basket in a marked envelope or mail it to the Rectory. If you have a bottle of Irish Cream or Irish Whiskey that you would like to donate, you can leave them in the back of the Churches. Thank you for your help & generosity.
Deacon’s NOTE
We take extra care of the things we own. But do we take care of the people we love? Do we love them the way they should be loved? Do I know the dangers that are out there? Have I planted a vineyard and invested serious money in some fer le soil only to neglect the type of workers I have hired? This happens in our families. It also happens in our schools.
What plants am I growing? We all want to be happy. This should be the fruit of all our labors! But am I s ll spreading manure on plants that I know will never produce happiness? Do I s ll believe that my career or my possessions will make me happy? We should know be$er by now.
Let’s work for the Father, plan ng His seed, yielding His produce, and bathing in His Son!

ROSARY RALLY
On Saturday, October 14th at 10:00AM we will hold a Rosary Rally at St. Augustine Church. The Rally will be outside unless the weather is bad. All are invited to attend the Rosary Rally and pray for the Miracle of Fatima and our Nation. We ask God to save America through the Rosary of His Most Holy Mother. Our nation is in great need of public prayer, repentance and conversion. Fliers are in the back of the Churches.
PENNSYLVANIA MARCH FOR LIFE
On Monday, October 16th the annual Pennsylvania March for Life will be held at the State Capitol in Harrisburg. The Diocese of Scranton is sponsoring a bus departing from the Scranton area and is encouraging youth ministries, college students, and young families to participate. Cost is $30 per adult/student and $25 for students – that includes motor coach transportation and driver gratuity. Minors must be accompanied by an adult chaperone. Please pack your own lunch as food vendors will be limited in Harrisburg. Pick up will be at 7:45am from the Diocesan Pastoral Center in Scranton, with the potential for another pick up in the Wilkes-Barre area. For details call Chris Calore at 570-824-5621.
HELP NEEDED
We are looking for someone or a couple of people to set up Neumann Hall for events such as funeral dinners, CCD Classes, birthday parties, wedding receptions, etc. You would be setting up the tables and chairs and some light janitorial work such as sweeping and moping the floors. MOM’S HOUSE “NIGHT OF HOPE”
Mom’s House will be hosting its “Night of Hope” on Thursday, October 19 from 5pm-9pm. This event, sponsored by K C Construction, will celebrate 35 years of helping low-income, single parents complete their education. We are looking forward to this evening- highlighting our success and honoring individuals in our community who have made a difference in the lives of those Mom’s House serves. Traditions at the Glen, in Johnson City, will be the setting for this special event. Cost: $65 - Evening includes dinner, gift basket raffles, silent auction, wine pull, client speaker and more.
