MESSAGE FROM THE PY PRINCIPAL
It is a joy to lead the team in the Primary Years (PY). Every day is vibrant and full of joy as we work with the children to harness their energy, mold characters and engage in vibrant learning.

In PY holistic and character development is a fundamental part of learning, built in alongside the curriculum. Our PY values enable us to focus on assemblies, morning time and personal, social and moral development of the children. In a post-pandemic world exploring these values has helped our children to focus on re-developing their personal, social, and learning skills and emerge confidently in a world that has changed. We understand that learning is a lifelong journey and we seek to build key ‘Learning to Learn’ skills of planning, reasoning, imagining, collaboration, questioning, reflectiveness, being self-aware, empathy and others. We incorporate skills across subjects as these are life skills needed to enable children to grow into well-rounded human beings who will face an ever-changing world.
Our curriculum reflects the world the children are growing up in. While it is designed and embedded in the best international practices, it is also tailored to meet the needs of children living in India. There is enough flexibility in our curriculum that it will lay a foundation to continue being educated in India or further afield in the world. The PY Team are highly motivated to facilitate the learning journey of each individual. We make learning visible and enjoy celebrating milestones along the way. We understand each child is a unique individual who learns through exploration, play, enquiry, discovery and discussion – using powerful questions to guide learners brings out deeper learning and develops critical thinking skills. Whichever path our students take after their time in PY, they will be well equipped to use their learning skills so they take their knowledge and understanding and can apply it in different contexts.
We are sure you will find that TISB is the right environment for your child to grow, bloom and reach their potential. We look forward to welcoming you!

Teaching is not about answering questions but about raising questions – opening doors for children that they could not imagine. Yawar Baig
