THE EFFECTIVE ROLE OF GRAPHIC RECORDING IN THE SUSTAINABLE INFORMATICS DEVELOPMENT MAGED KAMAL AL-DIN MUHAMMAD Faculty of Arts and Design - Zarqa University, Jordan ABSTRACT The technique of Graphic recording appeared in the last century and has become a prominent role in development in many fields such as educational, academic, educational, corporate governance and governance. Graphic recording is based on listening, understanding, and translating into symbols, then into expressive graphic arts. The study aims to make serious use of the technique of Graphic recording and find a solution to the problem of using traditional methods, which is a strong obstacle to development in the Arab world. The research assumes the strong and positive impact of the field of graphic recording, which depends on six elements, which are the designer, medium, customer, audience, planner and meeting. The research dealt with several examples of Graphic recording in educational institutions, lectures and seminars. The artistic value, influence and importance of elements and symbols were also elucidated. The study indicated that the spread of Graphic recording applications is felt in the Arab world and needs further study and practice

1. INTRODUCTION

The research revolves around the role of Graphic recording as a new field that appeared in the world in the interpreters of the eighties of the last century, and it is an instant translation of the meetings and seminars that are held to develop the business and the organizations, because it is not a verbal linguistic translation, but an artistic translation through simple caricatures and symbolic elements (icons).Graphic recording is a design artistic direction that provides managers, development teams and the public in educational lectures and meetings, a great opportunity to absorb the audible and readable content, and transforming a simplified visual design of it from the deep symbolic connotations that reach the mind of the recipient and the work teams with ease. The Graphic recording designer performs three basic function stages: 

The first function is to hear the ideas, goals, opportunities, threats, and the like from information presented and well understood.



The second function; in which the designer formulates a simplistic, symbolic, technical indication and expression of those ideas and information, a plan for the design that expresses the information state, and links ideas with the topics presented.



The third function: recording these symbols and technical connotations visually, drawn and detailed, explaining and clarifying these ideas and concepts in an interesting and attractive way.

towards sustainable cultural and administrative development to facilitate the arrival of information to developers and the public, clarify complex problems and give insight into decision makers. Recording graphics are useful for capturing topics and ideas arising from group discussions. This process is well suited to many stages of evaluation, to help the evaluator and the group of employers and developers understand the context and focus, discuss the results of data collection, and identify strengths, weaknesses, threats, opportunities, goals, and such developing these elements. The process also appears to be compatible with scientific assessment practices, especially the role that analytical graphing can play in increasing sustainable cultural, scientific and administrative responses.

2. RESEARCH GOALS Trying to seriously benefit from the field of Graphic recording in various aspects of cultural, scientific and academic life, and activating that important and vital role and subjecting it to development processes, advancing scientific concepts, smooth information delivery, and benefiting the recipient audience and development work teams for institutions, companies and academies to push towards the process of sustainable development.

3. RESEARCH PROBLEM There are old traditional methods used by most academics and developers in the fields of culture and science and the development of institutional management, these traditional old methods hinder correct or rapid understanding of information, and make a great effort to communicate difficult and sometimes hard information ideas to development and academic staff, and the limitations of modern methods in transmitting ideas and values Required, whether in the cultural, academic or administrative sphere at the private and public level.

4. TEMPORAL AND SPATIAL LIMITS OF RESEARCH This research is taking place from 1980 to 2020, in the Arab region.

5. RESEARCH ASSUMES The research assumes the strong and positive impact of the field of Graphic recording on the academic, cultural and administrative development process if it is used strongly and intensively in meetings and seminars, and in the field of administrative, governance, and educational development.

6. THE IMPORTANCE OF STUDYING The importance of the study stems from presenting a contemporary vision on the concept of Graphic recording in various fields of development, administration and culture, in addition to working on building technical and technical integration with the means of development and modernization in these vital important sustainable fields.

7. THE GRAPHIC RECORDING An artistic field that appeared in the last forty years, in which specialized teams in illustrations and cartoons participate, in order to convert the dry scientific material into a symbolic graphical material that is easy to understand and attractive, and it serves as an immediate and technical translation of what happens in administrative meetings that aim to develop and raise efficiency in institutions, scientific academies and seminars Educational, in which the artist performs several important and vital roles; begins with his accurate understanding and understanding of that scientific material well, then understanding its elements and addresses with origins and branches, then sets a plan for what will be given to the artwork Impact Factor (JCC): 8.8746

and design that translates that symposium or A meeting or lecture with all its elements, titles and goals, and then it is proceeded to draw directly on paper with colored inks without using a pencil or eraser. It is an effective, motivating and powerful method for brainstorming that was showing during scientific and management discussions. The artist captures topics and ideas arising from the ongoing discussions. This process is completely useful for all stages of evaluation, whether in The initial or final stages, to help the evaluator and the employers group clarify the context and focus on the development process, and discuss the results of data collection [1]. The process can seem complicated and difficult for the artist, but the practice overcomes that feeling. The role that Graphic recording can play is strong and vital and greatly influences the increased cultural response and understanding of the exhibitors, workshop or seminar.

7.1 Symbolic Elements (Icons) The science of the image is related to the description and interpretation of the visual meanings, it is a study that revolves around what the image means, that is, the style in which the image appears, as if it were talking about itself through persuasion, so the term iconology is used to combine the symbolic image with the theoretical heritage, so the semantic thinking of the image is one of Types of creativity that link in the meaning between the various theories of plastic art, between language and logic in addition to concepts and perceptions of social, political and cultural values. Symbol science is a social psychology of image and symbol, symbols include ideas and concepts including image, painting, maps and Fees illustrations, and cognitive tricks, hallucinations, dreams, scenes and images reflected [2].

7.2 The Importance of Graphic Recording The Graphic recording makes corporate meetings, educational seminars, and scientific lectures more effective for both attendees and societies, at the same time, and those scenes drawn in people's minds greatly depend, and symbolic explanations drawn affect the way the public, the community and even the intellectuals and students understand in lectures and seminars. Among the benefits of Graphic recording is the ability to keep the amount of information presented in these discussions, lectures, and interactions in attendance in interesting images and mental maps that can be converted into digital forms and pictures that are later traded and sent to everyone so that everyone can be able to benefit from them, and can be discussed at any time and refer to them, so that they help Developers and administrators focus on theses, positive and negative opinions and reactions in those sessions and meetings[3] 7.3 Graphic Recording Technology

Graphic recording is a relatively difficult and exhausting method for the artist, during which the artist picks up the main headlines and understands the topic of discussion, and the opinions presented on the table of discussions with intuitive speed, and up to the essence of that discussion, then sets a quick mental plan for what he will draw of symbols, expressions and colors appropriate Subjects, on a smooth paper or whiteboard, whose area is relatively large, according to the subject and the available time period. Sometimes audio recording is used to rehearse important discussions, then puts the headlines and expressive art symbols in different colors and fonts in harmony with the meanings and importance of topics as a wonderful musical symphony, different colors and lines characterize the general mood or tone popular with these discussions, we find the capital letters to indicate the headings of the topics, Smaller letters indicate the relative importance of an idea to participants[3]. The icons, symbols and small drawings illustrate the ideas, sometimes the underlying metaphor or the mental model of the group, as shown in figure 1

Graphic recording requires a person who can carry two or more ideas at once. This skill is developed through training and practice. Recording must be through drawings and mental maps, its ability to interpret and correct understanding, as well as the speed of drawing accelerated events, and the end result is a visual representation of the events, as well as pictures that capture the content of the discussions, along with the mental maps drawn of current events.

Because discussions often take many directions, the artist must have strong record memory and exceptional skills to express the spoken differences in the context of the discussion. Discussions and events appear through voids, symbols, elements, words, and drawings on the art board, reflecting the rhythm and tone of the discussion. These drawings interact with residents and consultants greatly. Figure 2.illustrates Graphic recording artist in front of the recording board in the discussion rooms, figure 3. Shows one of the development teams explaining his idea in front of the audience through one of the Graphic recording boards, PWC Price Waterhouse Foundation in the United Arab Emirates, at a performance development workshop in Dubai.

8. METHODOLOGY Preparation for conducting the technical recording workshop accompanying the symposium, workshop, or lecture begins with a mini meeting between one of the officials organizing the meeting or the development symposium and the Graphic recording artist, to exchange ideas, and to develop a comprehensive summary of all the topics presented in the development or scientific symposium or workshop, in which they exchange the main headings of the subject being discussed. And other pop-up details, after which the artist begins to develop a plan and a mind map for the graphic recording on the plan wall space.

8.1 The Graphic Recording Workshop Steps When starting the recording workshop, six main elements that the session depends on must be taken into consideration in order to design and document the effectiveness with professionalism and achieve the greatest benefit. 

Designer liaising with clients to determine their requirements and budget managing client proposals from typesetting through to design, print and production working with clients, briefing and advising them with regard to design style, format, print production and timescales



The mediator (who manages the meeting): He is the person who sets the agenda for the meeting with the client to work smoothly and effectively, and reports back to the Graphic recording with feedback during the session.

Sometimes the customer is the broker himself or sometimes there is no broker at all.



The customer (who holds the meeting): The customer holds the meeting and is essentially an investor, the customer often engages with the broker to ensure a good match between the meeting and the Graphic recording of good expression of the correct processes and methodologies for the event.



Participating audience (gentlemen of attendance): these are the people present at the meeting to listen and benefit from the event.



Planner: the map drawn (the meeting map): the physical map of the meeting is a mixture of writing and drawing, and is designed in a way that reflects the conversations and discussions and enriches the activity.



Meeting: Some meetings can primarily be about some investment offers, some need input from other sources, some focus on strategy and planning, and some are for training. These meetings should be prepared to suit the purpose for which it was clearly and effectively held, and there is no room for duplication of purpose and message.

9. EXAMPLES OF ACTIVITIES TO WHICH GRAPHIC RECORDING CONTRIBUTES There are many different topics for which such meetings, such as annual conferences, can take place, and it can be about the presentation of one speaker and may be an effective exchange of information. And some political meetings to help in the election promotion. There are corporate strategic planning meetings or brainstorming sessions. And other meetings, such as training and commercial workshops, and the pursuit of skills development. The Graphic recording is able to adapt to the different format of meetings and it is best to interact with the scenarios in which they work in a documented and easy to understand. It can also help the customer. With all meetings, Graphic recording designs must be prepared as digital files to be provided to the client after the event, as well as the client will deliver the original artwork at the end of the session,

and sometimes a digital copy of the recording is provided for the ease of sending to individuals [4] 9.1 Graphic Recording Contributes to the Development of Bodies and Institutions

The American JDC Corporation, a non-profit charitable social organization, in California has published a special thanks on its website for the American Graphic recording artist Paula Hansen, for her effort to document some of the foundation's meetings, which has benefited the Foundation greatly in developing the work and reflecting those fees on The employees and developers have the company, and it was one of the facilitating and facilitating factors to work in the sustainable institutional development. Figure 4 show Some of Paula Hansen's works in graphic recording.

The artist says on her website we create documentary drawings drawn, we capture the main ideas in the meetings and formulate them in attractive and colorful visual presentations during the meetings, lectures, development seminars and others. The power of mindfulness can be used to make these meetings more effective so that you never forget, and documenting your idea enables people to obtain and remember them at any time as long as they have an electronic copy.

Maya Baker, adviser and middleman of San Francisco, California, says: "You should know how effective Paula Hansen is at Rancho Cordova Resort with the mayor, city council, planning committee, city director and key employees. She followed her documentary drawings with great enthusiasm. Paula captured the main idea of the ongoing debate, added a strong aesthetic interaction, and helped people to follow well and remain engaged in the discussion enthusiastically, her work in Graphic recording gave the meeting a great added value. I am grateful to be a partner in this project and look forward to opportunities to work with her again"[5]

Mr. Khaled Ahmed Al Hosani, Executive Director of the Strategic Sector of Ajman Free Zone, comments on the works of the workshop that was held on May 10, 2017 in the Emirate of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates: (We thank and acknowledge Dr. (Name of the researcher) for these graphic recording, so the documentary drawings presented by the artist (300 cm / 100 cm) have a role Large and effective in the success of the Ajman Free Zone Strategy Development Workshop as shown in figure 5.

9.2 Graphic Recording in Academic Lectures The researcher made a new experiment in the field of academic work in which he used the method of Graphic recording in a lecture with a graduation project material, to explain the creation of a visual identity for advertising campaigns for undergraduate students at the Graphic Design Department, at the Faculty of Arts and Design at the University of Zarqa, Jordan for the academic year 2018/2019, in the second semester, which provided the opportunity For students to interact positively in the ongoing debate on creating a visual identity for institutions and commercial companies as well as awareness campaigns in the Middle East, and the use of Graphic recording for the lecture had a positive effect in confirming the information, opening the door to fruitful discussion, and also transforming the message And to electronic images that facilitated its circulation on the communication sites between the faculty member and the students. The lecture dealt with the establishment of companies, the creativity of the brand by funders, setting goals and message, vision, organizational guides and directives for employees, principles, values and work ethics, and the lecture touched the different mental images of the brand and how to create or update the visual identity, what it is and its types, choosing the appropriate colors, logo design, various prints, advertisements of all kinds, internal and external posters, etc. Figure 6 shows a part of a lecture in creating identity in a way that graphic recording.

9.3 Graphic Recording in Educational Seminars

The Faculty of Journalism and Information, at Zarqa University, organized an educational symposium for undergraduate students at the faculty, Department of Journalism and Information, Zarqa University, Jordan, academic year 2019/2020, the first semester, entitled Animation ads as shown in figure 7. The symposium prepared by the researcher was about the types of advertisements implemented in an animated way, and the technologies for each type, traditional and modern, and the use of advanced software in that area. Dr. Amjad Safouri, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism and Information commented on the lecture saying "The Graphic recording method that the doctor used for the first time in the college gave a wonderful impression among the college students, and it was a new and powerful shift in modern teaching methods, so I made a positive interaction between students and the doctor, and I saw from an interaction The students with the lecturer have an enthusiastic atmosphere that helps simplify a lot of the information the student studies in various academic fields. Thank you, Dr. (researcher) we enjoyed an interesting lecture of a distinctive nature".

10. THE TECHNICAL VALUE OF GRAPHIC RECORDING Graphic recording depends mainly on the symbol, in its shortened form, as this symbol depicted as an alternative to many inherited intellectual and cultural values, which are transmitted to the public from visual meanings to many expressive connotations, as symbolic drawings contain in their translation guiding stocks of realistic functions of interest to the masses [6]. And these symbolic drawings impose positive control on the recipient through interaction in these seminars and lectures. These symbols achieve sovereignty and extension through electronic trading after the end of the lecture, meeting or educational seminar. The symbol is one of the oldest human languages that have been found on cave walls since ancient times. These symbolic drawings represented many meanings and meanings, whether magic or documentary, and symbolic drawings are among the main elements of popular photography in the memory of ancient heritage, as the colors were an essential complement of These symbolic connotations, which added many connotations, because of the importance of those drawn symbols and the strength of their impact on the public, it has prevailed and took a great place in modern industries and software so that it cannot be dispensed with in these industries, so all modern electronic applications have become

without much exaggeration, relying entirely on those technical symbols drawn by specialized designers, so all Applications produced by major software manufacturers in computers, electronic devices, telephones, electronic games, industries and equipment that rely on computer systems such as; cameras, alarms, closed circuits, illuminations, and hardware Audio, electronic gates, heavy equipment, cars and airplanes, etc. Symbolic graphics have entered as an important singular within all applications of these industries, to integrate technical design and functional application together in a harmonious, harmonious and homogenous system that adds more aesthetic and functional value, to break that functional rigidity with this complex equipment[7].

10.1 The Effect of Graphic Recording on the Imagination of the Public The collective mind needs visual effects permanently. The brain always needs them. They are the most influences on human brain activity, 80% and more of the inputs that a person uses to obtain information from the environment are through these visual effects, and the rest of the inputs are distributed over the rest of the other senses, the sense of hearing at the forefront of those remaining senses. The visual image inserted through the eye into the human mind is not always normal or familiar, so a process of deception can occur in visual perception, and the delineation of the reality of perceived shapes accurately, so sometimes perceptual deception occurs, and difficulty in determining what the perceived shapes are.Precisely, sometimes imbalances occur in the perception of the brain itself, and therefore are reflected in the way the human perceives the surrounding environment visually[8].

10.2 Visual Thinking through Graphic Recording An attempt to understand the meanings and events through the language of the symbol and the portrayed image. Arnhem mentioned in the book "Visual Thinking" two types of knowledge: intuitive and mental. Intuitive knowledge is a field of visual perception in which a person tries to perceive symbols or images in their different shapes, colors and relationships, so those elements affect Cognitive influence in a way that causes the audience to receive that image as the result of an interaction between the elements of that image, and this happens in a holistic way within the audience's mind, without the person feeling, and this final result of the interaction is perceived. The second type is mental knowledge; there is no absorption of the total images or symbols drawn, the mind determines the component and the different elements and relationships that make up the drawing of significance, the mind may describe each symbol and color and prepare lists for these elements, then make a comparison and examine these relationships between all elements Individual, and then merges them [8].

10.3 Flexibility to use Symbolic Elements in Graphic Recording The symbolic elements and graphics used by the Graphic recording artist have a very flexible characteristic, so we find ancient symbols and sometimes symbols that have been used heritage for hundreds of years, are still related to people's minds, may change over the ages only a little, and sometimes they turn into modern symbols while preserving ancient meanings and meanings, we rarely find artwork, plastic, heritage or folk product, but the symbol plays an essential role in it. The symbol is the main element that the artist or designer chooses from his or her social and intellectual environment in order to use it in his artistic creativity that carries the cultural and intellectual values of the society in which he lives.

10.4 The Importance of Elements and Symbols Depicted in Graphic Recording for the Public There is a theory called the double-coding theory of information presented by psychologist Alan Bay view at the University of Toronto in Canada, the theory explains that information is represented in the memory of the public through www.tjprc.org

two interconnected systems, the system of visual thinking, which is the thinking that the mind creates through the mental and mental images that the mind is affected through visual vision, and the system of verbal reasoning, i.e. the image system is related to topics, physical reality and location. As for the other system, which is the linguistic system, it deals with dealing with the linguistic structures and the reading words, and when the public uses these two systems together "the picture and the reading phrase, their influence on the mind increases in an appropriate and positive way. "The symbol has become a basic commodity that has been requested and has become an important part of the system of trade, social communication and the media. It has also been circulated from place to place and from one continent to another. The global information network has also become the main means to encourage the production, sale and influx of commercial offerings in abundance through the culture of the information network and social media programs that are widely expected, as a technology that attracted the attention of the masses in the world and took complete control. Entertainment and news and information programs, so that the press has become a different press, abundant images, and few words, and this press has now spread greatly, which positively reflected on the use of pictures and symbols that the audience lived and became familiar with, for something that made it dominate and largely control collective consciousness, and it cannot be dispensed with in any way.

11. CONCLUSIONS Pictures and symbols have become the dominant language between societies and genders. The graphic recording, with low user usage and relatively slow spread, proved effective and positive and won the admiration of the public and administrative and development work crews. With the growth of electronic entertainment methods, game sites and social communication, images and symbols dominated the social, scientific, administrative, and commercial life, and became an essential element in societies so that they can never be dispensed with. The collective mind needs visual effects on a permanent basis, because the brain always needs it, as it is the most influential on the activity of the human brain. Graphic recording did not reach the Arab world as intended, but it has spread acceptable to Europe, the United States of America, and some Arab Gulf countries.

12. RECOMMENDATIONS •

The technological life that we are living in, evolving now in all aspects of life, requires strong, lasting and renewed creative intervention, to keep pace with the locomotives of this high-speed development, so the researcher recommends teaching this kind of art in the specialized colleges of art and design in the Arab world, to prepare a conscious generation that keeps pace with these artistic breakthroughs.

Promoting the field of Graphic recording in the press and visual media, and sensitizing the Arab community to it to help the public absorb and accept it.

Printing introductory brochures and sending electronic advertisements to major national and private institutions in the Arab countries by mail for publication and awareness.

•

E-learning, conducting educational workshops and creating a successful interaction between artists and the public, and making them aware of that important field.
