The Incas

Captain The Incas was found by Spain in the early 13 hundreds. The Incas Empire is the largest Empire in the pre-Columbian American. The civilization began as a tribe by Cuzco area. The Empire was split by a civil war to decide who would be an Inca Hanan. There were 125 miles of paved roads and that is really good because the Incas were on a mountain. The Inca were instructed to create a Temple of the Sun in the spot where the staff sank into the earth, to honor their celestial father. All of the walls in the Incas were made out of stone. The had nothing to keep them together they just carved the stone so that it would fit perfectly. The Incas were a distinct people with a distinct language living in a highland center, Cuzco. They were an ancient people, but had been subject to the regional powers during the entire history of South American urban cultures. They began to expand their influence in the twelfth century and in the early sixteenth century, they exercised control over more territory than any other people had done in South American history. The empire consisted of over one million people, spreading a territory stretching from Ecuador to northern Chile.
Guard Uniform − Helmets made from wood or leather − Sheilds made of palm or cotton − Cotton shirts and metal breast plates. Weapons − Bone or bronze spears − knobbed clubs − wooden swords − stone spiked clubs − wood slings and stone − Copper or stone battle axes − Slings If the Incas were attacking another civilization they would try to intimidate them first and show off how strong they were. If the enemy did not surrender after that the Incas would attack. When the Incas won a battle their would be a ceremony where the soldiers would parade around the captured enemy The road system that the Inca's had allowed for quick movement of the Army. Any man under Incan rule was drafted into the military for either a single campaign or for life. The Inca civil war started on 1529 to 1532. The Civil war was fought between two brothers.
Cook The Incas were very good farmers. There 3 most common farming foods were corn, potato, and quinoa. The corn was used in religious ceremonies. They also used to corn to make the drink chicha. This was also the first civilization to plant and eat the potato. Some other food that they would farm would be the tomatoes, avocados, peppers, strawberries, peanuts, squash, sweet potatoes, beans, pineapple, bananas, peanuts, spices, and coco leaves to make chocolate. The Incas didn't want to eat food that you grew from the ground all the time so about once a month they would go on a hunting trip. Other then farming and hunting the Incas would collect honeybees. They would collect honey from the honeybees. If you couldn't tell, the Incas spent a lot of there time making food. They actually cam up with the theory of freezing things and coming back to them later. They also grew way more food then they needed.
Map Maker The climate is hot and moist perfect for growing potatoes but they live in mountains terrains the journey was long we took 80,000 troops but having that many troops on a ship gets crowded and hard to work the new world is odd and very far away I hope we don't haft to stay in this place it is so odd the days are hot and moist but the nights are cold the captain should send us home soon.
First Mate There jewelry was mostly made of gold. It was considered very fashionable. They also believed that it was good luck. the king and the nobles would also wear the ear rings too. The men would wear earrings that hung to there shoulders so the weight wouldn't rip through their ears. They would make there cloths out of camel skin. They would raise camels so they could eat them and use there skin for items. They would also use cotton to keep even warmer. They also called this Cabuya. As a new born child the parents would never hold them. they didn’t want them to get used to it. They would sleep in a net hanging on the wall. The would sit in a corner till they could sit up. this is the typical life style as a baby. They never got close to then their parents. This caused them to grow up strong and independent. In the world of Inca art where plain and simple are the norm, the tapestries stood out as crown jewels. These tapestries where generally made from alpaca and were intricately woven by hand. tapestries were also quite lavish with many of them requiring two people to weave using a combination of loom and needle work. These works could take an impressively long time to make and reach knee length.
