Peter Davies —
Jane O’Sullivan is a freelance art writer and journalist based in Sydney. She is a former editor of Art Collector and Art Edit magazines. Her writing has also been published in the Australian Financial Review, and at Artnet and Ocula among others. She is, moreover, a highly regarded voice in the Australian art world as both critic and commentator.
Highly regarded for his considered and detail driven photography of architectural interiors, Anson Smart has seen his work regularly featured in (inside), Vogue Living and Belle. He works with some of the best interior designers nationally and internationally, and his work is also well-known to readers of ELLE Decoration in the UK.
Melbourne-based photographer Nicole Reed proclaims that, for her, photography is more than just a career – it’s her reason for living. Rarely leaving the house, never mind the country, without her camera, she is proud to have been bitten by the travel bug and searches for the muse of her next frame around every corner. While her work is undoubtedly artistic, she draws inspiration from editorial, reportage and the graphical nature of architecture.
Peter Davies is a writer and editor based in Melbourne. He has an enduring interest in art and architecture, language, culture and the interplay of text and image. He has edited publications for educational institutions, the legal sector and the design community. He has qualifications in journalism, arts management, publishing and editing, and communications law.

2014 WINNERS IDEA 2014 has been a most extraordinary event. The awards this year attracted a record number of submissions with 194 shortlisted projects and products in 11 categories. Now in its 12th year, the Interior Design Excellence Awards continues to support Australian designers and object makers, recognising the talent and expertise of our industry. To say that the standard was high this year is to state the obvious and to choose the winners was an incredibly difficult task. Our thanks are extended to all who entered and allowed us the opportunity to review projects and products that are nothing short of world’s best practice. Of course there can only be one winner in each category and we congratulate and applaud you. Our thanks also go to our hardworking jury who gave of their time and deliberated over the two-day judging process, our production team and to our sponsors, without whom IDEA would not be possible. To all who entered, we thank you for your participation and for allowing us to share your remarkable work. Jan Henderson and Gillian Serisier, co-editors (inside)
