ontgomery is the capital of Alabama and the second largest city in the state with a population of 205,764, according to the 2010 census. The city, which was incorporated on Dec. 3, 1819, is located southeast of the center of the state. Montgomery is nationally known for its many historic/cultural landmarks and events such as the Alabama State Capitol, Dexter Avenue King Memorial Church, First White House of the Confederacy, Montgomery Bus Boycott, Hank Williams Memorial, Alabama War Memorial and Alabama Shakespeare Festival. The city attracted the first electric street car system and the Wright Brothers’ (Orville and Wilbur) first school for powered flight. The Montgomery location became Hyundai’s first assembly and manufacturing plant in the United States. It employs more than 3,000 team members and currently produces the next generation Sonata sedan. That same year, Montgomery acquired a minor league baseball team called the Montgomery Biscuits, Class AA affiliate of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. The Biscuits are the 2006 and 2007 Southern League Champions. The team plays in a 7,000-seat facility known as Riverwalk Stadium and owned by the City of Montgomery. The stadium boasts of several seating styles: executive box, super box, lawn and suite level. Downtown Montgomery lies along the southern banks of the Alabama River, while the east side is the fastest-growing part of the city. Auburn Montgomery, the city’s two largest shopping malls and Wynton M. Blount Cultural Park, a 250-acre park which contains the Alabama Shakespeare Festival and Montgomery Fine Museum of Fine Arts, are located on the east side of town. Today, the city is known for its renaissance of historic downtown and redevelopment of the riverfront.

STEVE CROTZ Director of Athletics Seventh Year Missouri, 1979 Steve Crotz is currently in his seventh year as Athletic Director at Auburn Montgomery, following two stints as the interim athletic director. During his tenure, AUM teams have flourished, programs have been established, and facilities have been improved. Student-athletes have also been a stalwart in the community and excelled in the classroom. Under his guidance, eight of AUM’s 10 sports have spent time in their respective NAIA Top 25 Coaches’ Polls and teams have won six national championships. In addition, 236 studentathletes have earned All-Conference, All-Division or All-Freshman team honors, while 101 have garnered All-American honors. AUM has added a softball program, as well as men’s and women’s cross country programs, increasing its number of varsity sports to 10. Crotz has overseen several facility upgrades, including the renovation of the basketball gymnasium to include a section of 304 cushioned, chair-backed seats on the home side of the court, the building of a new state-of-the-art press box at the AUM Softball Complex and the resurfacing of all 12 tennis courts at the AUM Tennis Complex. In addition to the seating improvements in the gymnasium, Crotz also oversaw a remodeling project of the old weightroom that now houses the AUM Athletics Hall of Fame and serves as a hospitality area for members of the Courtside Club. Upgrades to the Softball Complex also included bleacher seating for more than 200 spectators directly behind home plate, restrooms, a concession stand, a press area and increased storage. In the classroom, student-athletes have been equally impressive, as 213 athletes have earned All-Academic honors from the SSAC and 78 have been named NAIA Scholar Athletes. Three AUM student-athletes, women’s basketball standouts Haley McIntyre and Carlie Ainsworth, and men’s basketball’s David Gallagher, have been named the SSAC Honor Student Athlete. Within the community, staff, coaches and studentathletes have logged better than 1,000 hours of service. Crotz has worked with the AUM administration to expand the athletic department staff to include a head and assistant softball coach and an athletic trainer. He has also spent the past two years serving as the chair of the Board of Athletic Directors within the Southern States Athletic Conference. For his efforts during the 2010-11 academic year, Crotz was selected the SSAC Athletic Director of the Year. Before focusing on administration, Crotz served 12 seasons as the head women’s basketball coach at Auburn Montgomery. Crotz compiled a record of 284-116 while at AUM, winning four regular season conference championships, two conference tournament titles, and advancing to the NAIA National Tournament 10 times. Crotz was a 10-time conference/region coach of the year and was named the Ikon/ Women’s Basketball Coaches Association National Coach of the Year following his team’s Elite Eight finish in the 1999-00 season. Prior to AUM, Crotz spent five years as athletic director and six years as head women’s basketball coach at Lindenwood University. While at LU, Crotz earned 126 wins and led the Lady Lions to three consecutive NAIA National Tournament appearances. During his six years at the St. Charles, Mo., institution, he was named American Midwest Conference Coach-of-the-Year on four occasions. In October 2009, he was inducted into the Lindenwood Hall of Fame. Crotz also spent nine years at Brentwood High School overseeing the girls’ basketball program and winning 210 games. Five times during that span he led Brentwood to the Missouri State Tournament where they won the state tournament in 1985 and finished as the runners-up in 1986 and 1990. For his efforts, Crotz was named the Missouri High School Coach-of-the-Year in 1985. Crotz received his bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Missouri in 1979 and his master’s degree in secondary education from Missouri-St. Louis in 1984. He and his wife, the former Daphne Hozee, reside in Montgomery with their two children, Kelsey and Jacob. The Crotz Family - Steve, Daphne, Kelsey and Jacob

Member Schools Auburn Montgomery (Montgomery, Ala.) Belhaven (Jackson, Miss.) Bethel (McKenzie, Tenn.) Blue Mountain (Blue Mountain, Miss.) Brenau (Gainesville, Ga.) Brewton-Parker (Mt. Vernon, Ga.) Coastal Georgia (Brunswick, Ga.) Dalton State (Dalton, Ga.) Faulkner (Montgomery, Ala.) Loyola (New Orleans, La.) Martin Methodist (Pulaski, Tenn.) Middle Georgia (Cochran, Ga.) Mobile (Mobile, Ala.) William Carey (Hattiesburg, Miss.) Founded in 1949, what is known today as the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) has prospered and excelled both athletically as well as academically in the Southeast region of the United States. The SSAC is currently made up of 14 institutions from Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Louisiana and Mississippi. The conference was originally established as the Georgia Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (GIAC) with six charter members, including Oglethorpe University, Berry College, Valdosta State University, North Georgia College and State University, Piedmont College and Georgia Southern University. In 1980 the league was renamed the Georgia Athletic Conference (GAC) and remained so until 1988, when its expansion into Georgia’s bordering states brought the need to change its name to the Georgia-Alabama-Carolina Conference (GACC). In 2003, the official name was again changed to the Southern States Athletic Conference. In November of 2012, the league announced that it planned to expanded to 16 teams for the 2013-14 season with the inclusion of Blue Mountain College, Martin Methodist College and Bethel (Tenn.) University from the TranSouth Conference. At the conclusion of the 2013-14 year, the league saw the departure of Southern Wesleyan University, Spring Hill College and Emmanuel College, which all transitioned to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II, in addition to Southern Polytechnic State University, which was consolidated with Kennesaw State University. Those vacancies allowed for the admission of Dalton State College and Middle Georgia State College. Both institutions will compete within the SSAC during the 2014-15 season, giving the conference 14 total members. The SSAC hosts 14 conference championships including men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, softball, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s golf, and men’s and women’s track and field. Since its inception and affiliation with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the conference has developed a reputation as being one of the premier conferences in the country in several sports. The SSAC boasts 32 teams and 11 individual national titles, while 30 more teams have finished as national runners-up. With its office based in historic Montgomery, Ala., the conference staff features Commissioner Mike Hall, Assistant Commissioner Sam Knehans, Treasurer Sally Shoppe and an Eligibility Chair, Dr. Ron Melton. The 2014-15 academic year marks the 15th year for Auburn Montgomery athletics competing as a member of the SSAC. Since joining the league in 2000, the university has collected 67 total conference regular season and tournament championships.
Auburn Montgomery has been a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) since 1975. In those 39 years, AUM has claimed 23 national championships and seven of the school’s 10 varsity programs have appeared in a national championship game. The NAIA, headquartered in Kansas City, Kan., is a national organization with nearly 300 institutional members and more than 60,000 student-athletes across the United States and Canada. Throughout its history, the NAIA has provided strong leadership for all aspects of intercollegiate athletics. Since its introduction of the intercollegiate championship of basketball in 1937, the NAIA has maintained its elite standards while administering first-rate athletics programs. The NAIA has continuously affirmed its commitment to equality by becoming the first national organization to offer institutional postseason opportunities to black student-athletes in 1948, to allow institutional membership to historically black institutions in 1953, and on Aug. 1, 1980, to vote in favor of the establishment of athletics programs for women. Today, the NAIA strengthens its commitment to student-athletes and strives to enrich their college experience by supporting academic achievement and character development. The NAIA approaches sport and activity as an opportunity to intentionally teach beyond the fundamentals through the philosophy of the NAIA Champions of Character program. By applying the five core values of respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership and sportsmanship, the NAIA has the ability to maximize talent to the benefit of each individual. In addition, the Champions of Character program monitors each NAIA institution’s commitment to the initiative with its Scorecard, which is divided into character training, conduct in competition, academic focus, character recognition and character promotion.

The Auburn Montgomery men’s soccer team is poised for a third consecutive NAIA Tournament appearance in 2014, as it returns 11 letterwinners from last year’s 15-7-2 squad that won the Southern States Athletic Conference regular-season title and fell in the NAIA National Tournament title match. “The whole tournament reflected the character of our team,” eighth-year head coach Wulf Koch said. “They had a never-say-die attitude, rallying late to tie games to force overtime and then found a way to win in penalty kicks. They came together after being a man down against Lindsey Wilson and won in overtime. Then they left everything on the field in the championship match. It showed the grit that the team had.” However, the Warhawks enter the season with question marks in several key positions following the graduation of seven members of that team, including three NAIA All-Americans in Taian Souza, Vignir Johannesson and Elvar Sigurdsson. AUM also loss four-year starters Vitor Silva and Christian Holthaus in the midfield, as well as SSAC AllFreshman team selection Tim Kayser on the back line. “I think it was a big loss, not just from what they brought to the team, but also great character student-athletes,” Koch said. “They were all quality guys who played hard, kept the team upbeat and were great leaders. Those are qualities that not everyone has. It will be difficult to replace them. “ Despite the losses, AUM is poised for another successful season, thanks in large part to key returners at each position. Junior midfielder Sebastian Wladyko, a NAIA Second-Team All-American last season, and fellow junior defender Niklas Hunold each return and will serve as team captains in 2014. Wladyko scored six times last season and assisted on eight more, while Hunold was one of just two Warhawks to start all 24 games. Also returning is the 2013 SSAC Newcomer of the Year Alan Harwell, who finished tied for the team lead with 13 goals last season, as well as

senior Baron Watson, who did not play last season. Following a strong first season with the team, junior Yannic Fallack returns and is expected to elevate his play on offense. Juniors Alexander Neubarth and Daniel Grobelny will all play key minutes along the defensive unit, while fellow junior Mathis Kroeger will be a wild card, as he returns from a knee injury suffered in the national championship match. In goal, sophomore Phillip Hitpass will take over for three-year starter Vignir Johannesson. Hitpass started four games last season and also was integral in helping the Warhawks advance in the national tournament, as he came off the bench in the first two rounds and led AUM to victory in shootouts. The Warhawks also welcome 13 newcomers to the program, all of which will compete for playing time. Joining the program for the 2014 season will be defenders Dominik Budic, Derek Fulcher and Franco Varga, midifielders Krishnan Patel, Ben Varga, Baldvin Runarsson, Nino Bozesan and Ingolfur Arnason, as well as forwards Pedro Antonelli, Michael Hettler, Christian Young and Lukas Metzinger. “It will be interesting to see how the returners lead the new guys,” Koch said. “The big question is will we have that same grit or is it more developed because we have key pieces back? Preseason will be a big evaluation period for us to see where we are at. We lost a lot of major contributors from last season, so I think it will be important for us to get back to the basics. We don’t want to think too much about making another run in national tournament, but if it happens, it happens. I think we have the talent to make a run at it, but we will need to get our new guys integrated and comfortable. We addressed our depth and our major weaknesses from last year. I think we can now sustain an injury or two. Our plan is to take it one game at a time and see how the season develops. I am excited about getting started.”
Goalkeepers Despite the loss of the two-time All-American Johannesson, the Warhawks will return an experienced and capable option in Hitpass in net. Hitpass spent the majority of the 2013 season as the understudy, but took over the starting role following an injury to Johannesson in the NAIA National Tournament quarterfinals against Oklahoma Wesleyan. He answered by being named to the NAIA Championship All-Tournament team after helping the Warhawks to the national title match. He also came off the bench and led AUM to shootout victories over Thomas in the opening round and Benedictine in the round of 16. “I think Phillip is a continuation of great goalkeepers we have had at AUM,” Koch said. “He came from a strong club program in Germany and is a very smart player. He is technically clean and tactically very aware of what needs to be done on the field. His size is certainly an attribute as well. His ability in goal helps the guys in front of him play a little more at ease, knowing that if they make a mistake the team will not get punished. They play a lot more relaxed.” Backing up Hitpass will be fellow sophomore Stephen Ingram. A local product from Prattville High School, Ingram did not see action as a true

freshman, but that did not mean his improvement went unnoticed. “Stephen is still learning,” Koch added. “He has good athleticism and a solid frame. I think he is going to continue to improve.”
Niklas Hunold
Defenders
The defensive unit provides arguably the biggest question marks for the Warhawks, as it will need to replace a pair of decorated players in Souza and Kayser. Souza was a First-Team NAIA and NSCAA All-American, and was also selected the NSCAA’s NAIA Player of the Year. Kayser was named to the SSAC All-Freshman team in his lone season at AUM. “We lost two key pieces from our defense with Taian graduating and Tim not returning,” Koch said. “I think this will be a major point of emphasis during the preseason. We need to find a cohesive unit that can play together and can play the way we like to.” After earning all-conference accolades as a defender during his sophomore campaign, Hunold will either hold a starting spot along the defensive line or return to his more natural midfield position. At either spot, Koch knows exactly what to expect from his junior captain. “Niklas is a tireless worker,” Koch said. “He works extremely hard to help the team succeed. He is a guy the team looks up to.” Also back for the Warhawks are Neubarth and Grobelny, although each return following injuryplagued sophomore campaigns. “We need Alex to be a little more disciplined in regards to when to go forward, as well as how to track back when on defense,” Koch said. “He is also prone to yellow cards at inopportune times, but he is a strong, athletic player that will be a key contributor on the defensive line this season.” “Daniel is coming off a knee injury, so it will be interesting to see how he reacts to getting back on the field,” said Koch. “He is the epitome of a center back. He understands how we want to play and is very sound technically and tactically. He reads the game very well and has great size.”

Sebastian Wladyko Four newcomers will also compete for a starting spot, with F. Varga from Switzerland a likely fit along the line. “Franco can play either centrally or fill the void left by Tim,” Koch said. “He is an experienced player and is a very calm player. He is quick, strong and has good pace. We are counting on him to play key minutes this season.” Fellow freshmen Bozesan, Budic and Fulcher will also factor into the rotation. Bozesan joins the Warhawks from Germany, where he played in both the Fourth and Sixth Divisions. Budic is also from Germany and most-recently played for TS OberRoden in the sixth level of the Verbandsliga. Fulcher is from Ashburn, Va., and helped Broad Run High School to the Virginia AAA State Championship last season. “Nino is very technical with the ball and has good pace,” Koch said. “I think he can help us, but he will need to adjust to the speed of college soccer.” “Dominik is built like a college linebacker,” added Koch. “The style of soccer we play relies on athleticism and he brings that to the table. He will be a solid player for us.” “Derek is very athletic,” Koch concluded. “I am excited to see how he interacts with our guys, but also to see how he responds to the speed of the college game. He has a chance to contribute this season, but he will have to be mentally strong during the transition from high school to the college level.”

tackle with no mercy,” Koch said of his 2014 captains. “They set the tone right off the bat, which is important so our opposition knows we mean business from the start. They know that and embrace that.” Four newcomers will also compete for a starting spot in the midfield, with junior transfer Krishnan Patel being the frontrunner. Joining the Warhawks from Lassen Community College in California, Patel helped the Eagles to a 23-8-7 record during his two years with the program. “Krish reminds me a lot of Nik Chamberlain when he played here,” Koch said. “He has an engine that never stops. He is more of a defensive midfielder and is an incredibly precise passer.” A pair of Icelanders will also factor into the rotation, as Runarsson and Arnason will each suit up for AUM during the 2014 season. Runarsson is the nephew of former men’s soccer standout Ágúst Þór Ágústsson, while Arnason played for one of the top club teams in Iceland, Thor Akureyri. “I have heard very good things about Baldvin,” Koch said. “He can play on the wings, so should be able to help keep Alan (Harwell) fresh. I think he will be a solid addition to our program.” “Ingolfur is a very solid player, who is quick and smart,” added Koch. “He will certainly add to our depth in the midfield.” Adding depth to the position will be Ben Varga, a freshman from LAMP High School in Montgomery, but originally from Budapest, Hungary. “Ben is a local player with a solid skill set,” Koch said. “He will add depth to our team, but will need to adjust to the speed of college soccer.”
Forwards
Midfielders The Warhawks lost a pair of staples in Silva and Holthaus in the midfield, however, Koch feels like the position is one of the deepest on the team. Anchoring the returners are Hunold and Wladyko, who combined to start 44 games last season. Hunold scored once and assisted on four goals, despite playing primarily on the defensive line, while Wladyko was third on the team with 20 points. “Niklas and Sebastian have great size and
If one position could match the depth of the midfield, it is at forward, where the Warhawks return four contributors from last season. Harwell, a First-Team All-SSAC selection last year, leads the returners after finishing tied for the team lead with 13 goals and adding eight assists in his first season at AUM. “Alan was an unknown commodity last season, but teams quickly realized he was a force after scoring twice against Milligan in the season opener,” Koch said. “He is a tremendous athlete and is extremely strong. He is also incredibly fast. If he becomes technically cleaner and tactically more aware, he could become even more dangerous. The scouting reports will list him as a player that needs to be contained, so he will need to make adjustments in order to stay successful.” The Warhawks will also welcome back their lone senior in Watson, who did not play last season. In 2012, Watson appeared in 19 games, scoring twice and assisting on two other goals. “Baron coming back will give us another option with tremendous pace,” said Koch. “It will be interesting to see how he responds after missing last year, but I am happy to have him back on the field.” Fallack returns after an impressive inaugural season at AUM, after earning all-conference honors at Rider University the season before. He scored three goals and collected three assists, while contributing 47 shots. “Yannic got better and better as the season

progressed,” Koch said. “I thought he was outstanding in the national tournament. He has great endurance and is a very smart player.” Returning sophomore Grant Dukes will add to the depth at the position. “Grant had a decent freshman campaign, but will need to continue to work to become better with the ball,” Koch said. “He has good size and is quick.” The five newcomers will also play a key role at the forward spot. Antonelli, an All-Mid-South Conference performer at University of the Cumberlands last season, is expected to provide a new element to the front line after scoring 26 goals in a two-year span in one the NAIA’s top conferences. “Pedro gives us a target forward that we have not had in a few years,” Koch said. “He understands when to take on a defender one-v-one or when to lay the ball off and get it back. He has great size and can finish with both feet. He is not only a goal scorer, but also a provider, which makes him difficult to defend.” Metzinger and Hettler, both freshmen from Germany, will also factor into the mix and come to AUM from two respected club programs. “Lukas can play as an attacking midfielder or as a forward,” said Koch. “He is a goal scorer and that is something we need. He comes from one of the top youth academies in Germany, so he will be a contributor for us immediately.” “Michael is fast and strong,” Koch added. “He provides us some flexibility on the wings and centrally. I expect he will be a key contributor to our team this season.” Two instate products, Chase Sanford from Huntsville and Christian Young from Millbrook, will also compete for playing time. “Chase and Christian are proven goal scorers,” Koch added. “They have great finishing ability, so it will be interesting to see how they can contribute.”

Men’s Soccer Head Coach University of Maine-Fort Kent, 1989 Eighth Season as Men’s Coach / 11th Overall at AUM The face of the AUM men’s soccer program since 2007, Wulf-Dieter Koch enters his eighth season at the helm of the men’s soccer program and 11th overall at AUM. During his tenure with the Warhawks, Koch has posted a 94-39-13 overall mark with the men’s program, after compiling a 48-19-3 record in three seasons coaching the women’s team. During his collegiate career, Koch has posted a record of 205-142-24 as a men’s coach, while adding 71 wins as a women’s coach. He sports a career win percentage of .585 and has led eight teams to the NAIA National Tournament. Under Koch’s leadership, AUM has finished the season ranked in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches’ Poll six times, including last season when the Warhawks finished as the NAIA National Tournament runner-up. In 2012, AUM won the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament and advanced to the NAIA National Tournament Quarterfinals. He also led AUM to the 2007 NAIA Region XIII tournament championship and to the NAIA National Tournament Final Four in his first season. Last season, Koch helped AUM to a 15-7-2 record, despite starting the season 2-4. The Warhawks rallied and went 10-1 during a rigorous SSAC schedule, earning an automatic berth into the NAIA Tournament as the league’s regular-season champion. Entering the national tournament as the No. 11 seed, AUM defeated the second, third and sixth-seeded teams en route to the championship match, with all five of its matches being decided in overtime periods or in a shootout. The Warhawks had a nation-high four NAIA All-Americans, while also having four named to the NSCAA All-American squad. Senior defender Taian Souza was selected the NSCAA’s NAIA Player of the Year and Koch took home NAIA Coach of the Year accolades from the organization. Four student-athletes, Souza, Cesar Kestring, Christian Holthaus and Elvar Sigurdsson, were named NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Souza was also voted the SSAC Defensive Player of the Year, while Alan Harwell was chosen the league’s Newcomer of the Year. Koch’s Year-by-Year Coaching Record Koch also enjoyed a coaching milestone during the 2013 season, when he earned his 200th men’s (Men) coaching victory with a 2-1 result over rival Mobile. He was also selected the SSAC Coach of the Year. In 2012, Koch guided the Warhawks to an 18-4-2 record, with their four losses coming to the four national Year Team Record Pct. tournament semifinalists. Three AUM players earned NAIA All-American honors, including goalkeeper Vignir Johannesson, who was named a first-team selection. Additionally, five student-athletes earned all-conference 1991 Maine-Fort Kent 7-9-1 .441 honors, four were named to the SSAC All-Freshman team and six were selected to the league’s All-Academic 1992 Maine-Fort Kent 8-8-1 .500 Team. 1994 Maine-Machias 3-8-1 .292 The Warhawks faced 11 teams ranked or among the others receiving votes in 2012 and responded with a 1995 Maine-Machias 4-11-1 .281 6-4-1 record. The 18 victories by the team, 11 of which were shutouts, were the most by a team since the 2005 1996 Maine-Machias 7-9-1 .441 squad went 23-2 and reached the Final Four. 1997 Maine-Machias 8-11-0 .421 In the classroom, the men’s soccer program was equally successful. The Warhawks posted a team grade 1998 National American 16-6-1 .717 point average of 3.11, including a 3.26 in the 2013 Spring semester. Three student-athletes were named NAIA 1999 National American 13-6-1 .675 Scholar Athletes, while Holthaus earned AUM’s nomination for the SSAC Honor Student-Athlete award. 2000 National American 18-3-1 .841 During the 2011 season, Koch led the Warhawks to a 12-5-4 record. AUM reached the finals of the SSAC 2001 National American 12-9-1 .568 tournament, and was only a penalty shootout away from winning the conference and returning to the NAIA 2002 Spring Hill 7-11-2 .400 tournament. Five players earned spots on SSAC all-conference teams, including two first-team selections. Men’s 2003 Spring Hill 8-12-0 .400 soccer also continued to have success academically, with 10 players making the SSAC All-Academic team. At 2007 AUM 17-5-0 .773 AUM, the team received the Team GPA award, given to the program which has the highest average overall for 2008 AUM 12-5-1 .694 the year. With a 3.19 team GPA, it was the second straight year they had earned the top spot. AUM 13-4-2 .737 In 2010, the Warhawks struggled with injuries, inexperience and a difficult schedule, posting the first losing 2009 AUM 7-9-2 .444 season in Koch’s time as head coach at AUM. The Warhawks posted a 7-9-2 record on the season, after facing six 2010 AUM 12-5-4 .667 teams that finished the season ranked in the NAIA Top 25 Poll, four others among the others receiving votes and 2011 2012 AUM 18-4-2 .792 seven teams that qualified for the NAIA National Tournament. 2013 AUM 15-7-2 .667 Despite the on-field results, the Warhawks were recognized for their sportsmanship on the pitch, in the Totals 19 years 205-142-24 .585 classroom and in the community with the 2010 Buffalo Funds Five Star Champions of Character Team Award, one of 23 given out by the NAIA for each of its 23 championship sports. The team was also presented the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s Team Academic Award, after posting a team grade point Koch’s Year-by-Year Coaching Record average of 3.27 during the previous academic year. (Women) In his previous three seasons, Koch helped the Warhawks to a 42-14-3 record, the NAIA National Year Team Record Pct. Tournament in 2007, a No. 1 ranking in the NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 Poll the week of Sept. 16, 2008, and eight 1997 Maine-Machias 7-7-1 .500 weeks ranked within the top 10. 2002 Spring Hill 7-12-0 .368 Koch, who now has 17 years of experience coaching on the men’s side and 23 years at the college level, 2003 Spring Hill 9-12-0 .429 began his coaching career at his alma mater, the University of Maine-Fort Kent in 1991 and 1992.
