Forword Peculiar is the life of man. He passes through so many ups and downs. The events that he gets confronted with, paves the way towards the goal. While passing through this crisis man learns and experiences somany things which direct him towards his destination. Wants and demands inspire reactions in man and problems promote to invent solutions. These are stepping-stones in disguise which help the mankind to achieve its prosperity in its respective fields. This is all about social life. Religious aspect of life is also similar. But man prefers social aspect of life rather than theological aspect. Consequently remarkable progress is being achieved in Scientific and Technological fields. While Theological field is desolated unattentive became crippled. Man is under false impression that the theological field does not give proportionate values in promoting social requirements which are necessary to maintain a peaceful life. Thus man neglects completely the field of theology whereby the analysis and research works are set aside. Thus the theological field sustained an irrepairable loss. Man's social life bereft of theological aspect is imperfect. As a result man became a blind follower not giving any place for analysis on the religious matters. Under the influence of this unhealthy trend some selfish scholors who pose as benefactors of the religious groups introduce new religious trend with all invented dogmas, which becomes more popular than the original one taught by its real prophets. This is not the fate of any particular religion, but all religions suffer with the same drawback. The state of the people of the blind following went so far as one becomes so rigid in the belief he possesses and regards it as more authentic than the one that is found in the scriptures. Even if such people are shown the scriptural facts they never agree to accept the truth.

In one place where after the programme of our Bible class, a man from among the people shouted saying "Who is Jehovah sir?" "We know only Jesus as our God." If this be the attitude of common man's ignorance about one's own religion should he be left alone to his own fate? If people are being led to the path of destruction should they be let go according to their own way? and not be amended? The wise people who are conferred with scriptural knowledge are responsible for their reformation basing on their own scriptures. If this responsibility is not properly responded to, they will be held liable of answering before God more than the originally strayed people. The author of this Book Mr. Ahmaed Ali, The Founder & Director of The True Message Centre, Kakinada has made a deep study on the predominant beliefs and practices and customs of the people which are quite contrary to their scriptural ordinances. He has been striving in the field of research in scriptural comparitive study and as a result the scriptural truths, divine injunctions which condemn the prevalent practices which are taking predominant role under the veil of religion have been unveiled. The real beliefs that the scriptures offer which have been buried in the scriptures themselves have been exhumed and brought out the facts before people of all three major religions namely Christianity, Hinduism and Islam. The kernal truth of all religons is one and the God is one and mankind is one. The main thing that one should know is- it is not the religion that has been corrupted but the people belonging to the respective religions. Irretional" for Muslims and some "Questions by genius and My answers" for all people in general have been written of which some have been published and some yet to be. This Book 'Isaiah 53' and 'The Profile Paul' are under preparation which are almost ready for publication. Now let us know about the Book Isaiah 53. I would like to cite here an incident which took place some years ago. It is a village by name Kajuluru where we had acquaitance with a Christian family. On their permission weekly once we used to conduct Bible classes among their family members. Thus the classes were lasted about two years. We pointed out the facts from Bible and explained them how their prevalent beliefs were in contrast with it. They gradually began to realize the facts and accepted all our reformative points. They accepted and declared that Jesus was not God but only a prophet of God (Jehovah) sent as a Messiah (Reformer) to the community of Israelites. They began to worship Jehovah as their God instead of Jesus as they did previously. They also accepted that Jesus did not die for their sins but his crucifixion was taken place just as a result of the crafty devices of jews who wanted to get rid of Jesus' mission. As usual on one week when we were present to discuss the biblical points they showed us 53rd chapter of the Book of Isaiah of Bible and asked us whether the prophecy of Isaiah was in conformity with the doctrine of cross as propounded by the church. They further said that "according to the prophecy all events that Jesus was meted out appear to be correct as his wilful sacrifice for the redemption of our sins. And yet we are not able to form a decisive opinion on the subject" and saying thus they doubtfully posed. As it was for me too the first time of coming across with such prophecy I too thought for

a while whether we could in anyway answer to their doubt in a convincing manner. But Mr. Ahmed Ali said with a smiling face that this is the last resort which the pastors place before people in defence of their doctrine of cross. "I know that this type of situation would prevail" and continued " I will explain the every line of the prophecy how it has been mistaken by the church and how they present them in their favour and how the people fall prey to their fallacy. "From that week on wards he gave his discourses on the subject of Isaiah 53, which lasted about 7 or 8 weeks. His minute explanation, and masterly arguments he discussed, made all the people convinced of the facts. All members of the family unanimously accepted that the doctrine of cross was nothing but a fiction. They all said when Jesus had not died on the cross"Where is the ransom of his life on cross to redeem us from sins?" That day they also openly announced that "there is no other god but Jehovah" and Jesus was his prophet. They also proclaimed that "one should follow Jesus' teachings instead of worshipping is the essence of gospels. And they also accepted that one should believe prophet Mohammed also about whom he had prophesied in his gospels who was to come after him1. Thus they all became real followers of Jesus. We thought - would that all his discourses on the subject were brought in the Book form. But Mr. Ahmed Ali was very busily involved himself in writing of the Book "My Findings from Gita". Isaiah 53 became a major factor for discussion in our all programmes. In many places people began to express doubts on the subject. And many people demanded to explain them in detail that how the Isaiah 53 was not relevant with the exposition of pastors. The demand became more essential.

Generally he writes all his books in English and latter on get them translated into Telugu. As Isaiah 53 is a new topic with which we have not been well versed we demanded him to write the book Isaiah 53 immediately. He also realized the urgent need and demand of the book. So with in two weeks of time he put a bunch of papers with Telugu mannscritpt of his own hand asking me to get zerox copies as many sets as our co-workers needed. And after the completion of the Book 'My Findings from Gita' he promised that he would leisurely write the book Isaiah 53. To our great surprize we found the papers to have been brought out in such an excellent way that no further explanation nor information was felt necessary. Then he suggested that it might be printed and to avoid the extra labour in getting into translated into English by himself , he entrusted the job to my son one of our co-workers a degree final year student by name Quanith Ilahi. What note worthy point is that the matter of 'Is Atonement necessary for salvation?' and 'Isaiah 53' appears to be similar in nature. The conclusion of both books is one and the same. But the points and its exposition is entirely different. In the former book all discussions and its expositions revolve around the only point 'whether the vicarious atonement is necessary for salvation'. And it is proved that Jesus did not come to mere offer his life on cross as ransom for our sin and also proved that the doctrine of cross is not supported by the Bible. But the pecularity of the Isaiah 53 is, it does not revolve on any particular point. How the prophecies made by the prophet Isaiah have been fulfilled and how the events took place as prophesied by him as narrated in the gospels have been discussed in detail under twelve verses of Iaiah chapter 53. As a

matter of fact all prophecies except one all were relating to the people of the time of Jesus. What were the devices of the Jews and that how they were carried on and what would become of Jesus after his punishment on cross... all have been prophesied by Isaiah and accordingly fulfilled. All these points were made relating to the people of the time of Jesus; but one prophecy was made about the latter generation of his followers how they misconceive Jesus' punishment for his wilful sacrifice as ransom for their sins. In consideration the way of his presentation of the facts taking the events from Gospels and comparing with Isaiah's prophecy and bringing out the hidden facts- it cannot be an exaggeration if we say that complete life history of Jesus in a nutshell has been presented in few pages. And this book is another milestone of his research work which remains in the memory of people for ever. This book is not only useful for the christian community but every one that seeks after truth, may he be a Hindu or Muslim or any other, shall be profusely benefited in these days of confused propagation about Jesus. I wish that a stream of truths may flow from his pen and pray that God Almighty may bestow His mercy on him.

ISAIAH - 53 Introduction Jesus was sent as a prophet to the community of Israel to reform it1. The point of reformation comes only when the majority of the community is involved in anti-relegious traditions contrary to the real teachings of the religion. In a situation such as this God Almighty sends a prophet for the reformation purpose2. Reformation never agrees with the invented traditions of the people but rather falls against to their every such activity as they do in the name of religion. So the people reject the prophet and oppose the reformation3. It is but natural that those that oppose the reformation of the prophet constitute the majority4. The community such as needs be reformed, needs not be completely free from correct followers of the religion. Yet they remain very small in number whom no reformation is necessary. Even if some remain in erronious following, for such ones it is very easy to reform. Yet it is incumbent that they should believe the prophet and follow him5. The number of those that believed on Jesus as one sent by God, was gradually increasing day by day. For all such people, he took them as his disciples and involved them in his reformative work. Thus he could attract a very great number of people and made them incline towards him and his teachings within a very short period6. By preaching in multiple ways, Jesus could gather multitudes of people and turned them in his favour. The followers of

Jesus grew in number so much even the Jews became frightened of the multitude. Yet they left no effort ineffective to make an end of Jesus by any means and thus to sweep off the teachings of Jesus for ever7. Jews finding the people following in close association of Jesus, could not harm him in public and hence they planned a secret strategy as how best they could make an end of him and his mission8. Jews tried in vain to involve Jesus in a criminal case of abetment (John 8:3-11). They tried to brand Jesus as a traitor (Luke 20:20-26 and Matthew 17:24-27). The timely intellect and wisdom that Jesus had been given were most praiseworthy and commendable. Jesus not only made void all the crafty efforts of Jews but also had undone their envious plans which they made to involve him in the criminal case of abetment and to brand him as a traitor. And at last Jews having no any alternative means as possible to betray Jesus, they made false representation to the ruling authority accusing him as a traitor with false witnesses (Luke 23:1-2 and 23:13-14). However Jesus was betrayed by means of Jews' crafty efforts and was handed over to pilate the Governor. He was accused as antinationalist and a traitor. The judgment was decreed in favour of Jews and Jesus was condemned to death penalty by crucifixion. But surprisingly enough the Christianity deluded this forcible crucifixion of Jesus to be his wilful sacrifice as ransom for the sin of those who believe him as their redeemer. The scenario of every event of Jesus that how he was confronted with and that how he tried his best to save himself from being betrayed of and that how his own people failed to

save him not giving Jews a repulsive attack and that how an unjust decree was given against him to be crucified on cross and that how he was saved on cross- all these things have been incorparated precisely in the prophecy of Isaiah as recorded in chapter 53, which all have been fulfilled. All these points we have discussed taking the gospels as supporting elements to establish the facts of our interpretation to the said prophecies of Isaiah. To be frank none of these prophecies stand in support of the illusion regarding their doctrine of cross yet what more funny rather than curious is the attempt of the Church which it forward the prophecies of Isaiah, chapter 53 in support of their presumed dogmas. However their illusion hurled them into such a state where they began to rejoice in the blood of Jesus that was shed on cross, taking it as ransom for their sins. Jews wanted to get rid of Jesus by his crucifixion on cross. Church wants to wash out their sins in the blood of Jesus which was shed by his crucifixion on cross.

Pertinacity : Role of Blood. “I want my pound of flesh” said Shylock also. Thus he persisted vindictively to avenge Antonio out of ill - will formed upon him so that he might make an end of him. As a matter of fact it was not flesh that shylock wanted but the life of Antonio. In the very same way, the then Jews who accused Jesus to be a traitor, wanted the blood of Jesus only but they were really not well-wishers of welbeing of Caesar. Antonio offered many times more the amount than what he actually had to pay to shylock. This was accepted by the judge also and he suggested Shylock to take huge amount of money offered by Antonio instead of a pound of flesh. “It is not money (or gold) that is required now” said shylock “But my pound of

flesh as agreed in the Bond” holding a balance in one hand and in the other a knife. Similarly though Pilate repeatedly made it clear that he found Jesus to be innocent man who did nothing worthy of death penalty and then therefore that he would release him with simple chastisement, the Jews demanded and cried that Jesus should be crucified. Shylock wanted Antonio’s flesh- Jews wanted Jesus’ blood. Christians need his blood (... and the blood of Jesus christ his son cleanseth us from all sin 1 Jhon 1:7). At last the lawer of Antonio (portia) declared and stated in defence ... Shylock has every right to take his pound of flesh from the body of Antonio but no drop of blood should drip from the body. That day Antonio was saved by his own blood. The then Jews may be condemned for innocent Jesus’ blood. What will happen to the present christians... who are rejoicing in the innocent Jesus’ blood?

ISAIAH - 53 Not only the points related to the theological field, but also the social aspect of life immensely gets contaminated and suffer deep perversion. These are changes that undergo as a natural phenomenon. Prevention of these things so as not to take effect, is beyond one's aptitude. But can be brought back to its original state by unceasing endeavour. The pious and pure teachings of Jesus have also been tempted to pollution to a great extent and a number of perversions are prevalent surpassing the origingal teachings of Jesus. Prominent among such areA. Doctrine of Triune god B. Jesus possessed of divinity C. Salvation of mankind is possible only through the belief in Jesus' sacrifice on cross. None of these agree with the real teachings of Jesus. At the time of Romanization of Christianity all these doctrines crept into the religion fraudulently and eversince so many changes (interpolations) are being added to justify the invented doctrines and thus the original religion taught by Jesus became futile. But the author of this book has not only proved from scriptures that the 'Doctrine of cross' is mere a product of human brain but also most efficiently proved the real concept of salvation as propounded by the prophets and particularly by Jesus. Author being a Muslim what was (is) his main intention which inspired to undertake this great venture of reformaion of fallacy and to bring before the readers the thought- provoking realities? The first thing is that he should believe Jesus as Christ. And

also accept his teachings and religion. Having been so intensively related to his religious teachings he felt that it was his moral responsibility that he should bring into light the facts so as the fallacy may soon be vanished. And this is the responsibility of every Muslim too. Most probably this is the cause which prompted him to write this book 'ISAIAH - 53'. According to Bible 'Blood' is simile for sin. Contrary to this the 'Blood' (of Jesus) itself is being propagated as a medium for salvation. I believe that by the spiritual inspiration the author perceived this fact and as a part of cleansing this 'blood' which is psrayed by Satan, he ventured this task by the help of ambrosia like teachings of Jesus. I hope the prudent readers study this book with peaceful mind and assess with logic and reasoning. And it is my ambition (Abhilasha) that our Christian brethren will lead their life to attain the real salvation as propounded by the Bible and make their worldly life peaceful and may attain an eternal life hereafter. Not only Christianity but the author has touched the prevalent innovated doctrines among Hindus and Muslims and strove hard to mend them in the light of Vedic and Islamic scriptural facts bringing into light in his writings of various books. I pray that the Heavenly Father may give him good health and a long life so that he may be a guide for those that have spiritual enthusiasm and to lead the people into real following of their own religion by bringing them back from their erroneous following. ISAIAH 53 facts that cannot be hidden The detailed description of the events relating to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ has been given by prophet Isaiah in the form of prophecies which have been recorded in 53rd chapter of book Isaiah. These prophecies were fulfilled in the biography of Jesus Christ. Unfortunately Christianity deluded them as ransom for redemption of its sins through the blood of Christ. Let us make a logical analysis of these prophecies to find out whether Isaiah had prophesied the crucifixion of Jesus as ransom appointed by God or Jesus' wilful sacrifice to redeem the sin of Christianity or the outcome of the strategy planned by the then Jews to get rid of Jesus. Was really Jesus crucified1 on cross for our sins? Or is it our delusion? However,Jesus was accused by Jews as a traitor and was decreed the death penalty by means of crucifixion.

Isaiah - 53:1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the 1. was his life really extincted on cross? 2. Here Lord refers to Jehovah for God as made mention in Exodus 6:3. Excepting in this reference, everywhere God Almighty is made known by the word "Lord" in both English and Urdu versions. We see Jehovah for God in Telugu version in everywhere. But in New Testament as Father. It is surprising to note that Jesus called God by name Eli (Matthew 27:46) and Eloi (Mark 15:34) in particular occasion when he was put on cross. But in general he called God as Father like all Jews did. Jacob erected an altar and called it El- elohe- Israel (Genesis 33:20). El is a prefix before every proper nown in Hebrew language- just as 'THE' in English.

A. Whom the word ‘our’ is related to in this verse?In this context ‘our’ is spoken representing prophets. Hence our report means- the report of Prophets, meaning information as conveyed through them. B. What they did? They gave information. C. About whom they provided the information? About Jehovah (God Almighty). It means all prophets (till Isaiah) had provided comprehensive information about Jehovah. D. Then, did all people believe according to the information provided by prophets about Jehova? No, - except a few, every one rejected.Though the verse ‘ who hath believed our report, and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed’ gives the evidence that none had accepted the message of prophets, it is reasonable to believe, that a few of the people had accepted the message as we say, seems to be more appropriate, while many had rejected. E.The following verses show that the gospel writer John also has attested that these words of Isaiah’s prophecy proved true in case of Jesus as well. So it is clear that the message given by Jesus about Jehova was accepted by a few only but rejected by a large number of people.

But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him; That the saying of Isaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? Therefore they could not believe... -John 12:37-39 The verse under discussion has not been stated verbatim but twisted by the Gospel writer with slight change. It can be predicted that an attempt has been made to attribute the meaning of the word 'Lord' in favour of Jesus Christ rather than of God.In clear terms an attempt has been made to make people think that Isaiah had prophesied that the ‘arm of Jesus’ was not revealed to anybody instead of the arm of Jehovah. This point can be traced from the following statement of Paul also in his letter to RomansBut they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? -Romans 10:161 According to Isaiah 53:1 all prophets including Jesus had informed about Jehova. But except a few all others rejected the message. Jesus himself accepted the fact. When Jesus heard it he marvelled and said to them that followed verily I say unto you, I have not found 1. Note by the translator: with the permission of Author. The above argument appears to be meaningless to our English readers of the Bible. So I would like to remind you that the copy which you have in your hands, is the English translation of the Book which has been originally written in Telugu. In Telugu version of Isaiah 53:1 it is recorded as- "to whom is the arm of JEHOVAH revealed?" But John the gospel writer states 'LORD' instead of 'JEHOVAH'. In English version also 'Lord is used instead of 'Jehovah. This is the light change what he did which leads to impress that it was spoken about Jesus; and that all prophets had reported about the gospel of Jesus.

‘so great faith, no, not’ in Israel. And I say unto you, that many shall come from the east and the west and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth -Matthew 8:10-12

JESUS IS NOT CO-EQUAL WITH GOD : AS HE WAS BROUGHT-UP BY GOD'S MERCY Let us go to the second verse.From here it has been prophesied about Jesus:

Isaiah - 53:2 A. For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: B. he hath no form nor comeliness: and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. The above verse reflects the meaning that Jesus lived under the mercy of God through out his age. John also supported in his gospel the fact by reminding the example set by Jesus Christ about himself. I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. -John 15:1 In the above verse, Jesus compared himself to be a plant and God as a farmer. Plants always survive under the mercy of farmers. In fact there can be no resemblance between a farmer and the

plant in any matter. In this way he condemned the doctrine of trinity; which is a different topic. A. And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him -Luke 2:40 B. And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him. -John 8:29 The above two passages confirm that Jesus lived under the mercy of God as has been prophesied by Isaiah figuratively saying as "for he shall grow up before him as a tender plant and as a root out of a dry ground" under the first clause of the verse 53:2 under discussion.

JESUS DISGUISED... WHY? Verse 53:2/ 2nd clause B. He hath no form nor comeliness and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. The verse is an evidence that he lost his appearance in his real person and beauty. What happened to his real appearance and beauty? He had been rejected by his people. His enemies tried to kill him by any means. I. Then the pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him. But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence... -Matthew 12:14-15

After two days was the feast of the passover and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft and put him to death: But they said,Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar of the people. -Mark 14:1-2 So, in order to protect himself he used to dwell by disguising his real appearance. And he that betrayed him had given them a token, saying, whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he; take him, and lead him away safely. And as soon as he was come he goeth straightway to him, and saith, Master, master: and kissed him. And they laid their hands on him and took him. -Mark 14:44-46 Jews captured Jesus Christ while he was being kissed by Judas.The kiss was an indication, as he told that to whomsoever he kissed would be the same. The situation is a strong proof that Jesus disguised himself in such a way as no one was able to recognise him, though they knew him from his child hood. In this way Isaiah’s words... that he would loose his real appearance and beauty, were fulfilled in his life. If Jesus were really a person appointed to be crucified for the remission of the sins of people, why was he disguised himself to be saved from being caught and crucified, is a matter necessary for Christians to ponder over. They should think of this. Why should a person disguise himself, if he were the person who came to bear the sins of people and to sacrifice his life on cross for emancipation of the sins?

Now let us examine

Isaiah 53:3

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and we hid as it were our faces from him: he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

A. He is despised and rejected of men We need not exhibit of our profound grief by saying- ‘ Alas! He was despised and rejected of men’ for our sake. In fact, every prophet who had been sent from God, was despised and rejected of men. No prophet was ever welcomed by the people, and embraced of, with love and affection; except by a very few. In the same way Jesus too was rejected and despised. Why then a special lamentation for him leaving all other prophets? Woe unto you,scribes and pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous, and say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets: fill ye up then the measure of your fathers. Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes;and some of them ye shall kill and crucify, and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city; That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth from the blood of righteous Abel

unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation. O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathers her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! -Matthew 23:29-37

Note : Same passage is also present in Luke 11:47-51 A. Above passage was told by Jesus himself B.Many prophets were killed, some were crucified and some were banished from the nation by stoning them. Who were they that had experienced all these sufferings? Are not they our prophets? Were they not sent by Jehova? Were they not all rejected by the people? Then why should we beat our breasts, thinking that Jesus alone had borne our sins, by exempting all other prophets? The prophets who were killed, crucified, and stoned by the people, were also the ones that had borne our sins (griefs and sorrows). C. Jesus said- "upon you may come all the righteous blood shed from the blood of Abel to Zacharias whom you slew". Significantly it can be noted here that he did not add his blood which is a clear evidence to prove that he was not killed by any means of the crafty devices planned by the Jews. Were he really to be killed on the cross by the Jews he would have added his name also in the righteous whose blood was shed.

Let us analyse 4th part of third verse D. He was despised and we esteemed him not : 1. The son of man came eating and drinking, and they say Behold the man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners... -Matthew 11:19 2. And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their coasts. -Matthew 8:34 3. Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought him to depart from them... -Luke 8:37 The above verses show that Jesus was not poperly esteemed on the other hand despised. Not only Jesus, but every prophet who was sent by Jehova, was rejected. The following verse reveals this fact. Thus we read from the following... I have sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them;and ye shall dwell in the land that I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear nor hearkened unto me. -Jermiah 35:15

Let us analyze some more points from third verse:B. a man of sorrows acquainted with grief

He often remained in under ground Grief and happiness are common experiences of every man that takes birth in this world. None can be happy for ever with out tasting grief and sorrow. They come and go like dawn and dusk a natural phenomenon of the day. So also in the life of every man these two ever prevail one after the other. Here in the present context, Jesus has been described as a man of sorrows acquainted with grief which bears a special significance. On that day having smelt the conspiracy that they plotted to betray him, Jesus began to be dismayed and became utterly sorrowful. Then what he did? He hid: C. “And we hid as it were our faces from him: I tried very much to understand the meaning of this clause. But I could not. My insufficient knowledge in understanding English to that extent may be the reason for not knowing its correct meaning and hence I refferred the telugu version, the meaning of which is given as below: =°#°+¬μ¼•° KǶ_È <ù•Áx "ŒxQ®#°O_³#° which can be translated into English “ He was not being seen of men”. This can be well interpreted to mean that he disguised himself so as to hide his identity and another point is that he hid so as not to be betrayed. These two points can be proved from the following arguments. Here 1st and 2nd points mean that he was filled with sorrow and grief as he came to know that they were going to capture him at any cost.

3rd point means that he hid himself in secret places. John the gospel writer also tells that he was found hidden in secret places, by the time, when he was being captured. When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into the which he entered and his disciples. And Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus ofttimes resorted thither with his disciples. Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons. Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye? -John 18:1-4

Points to ponder over: Judas' help in betraying Jesus became inevitable a.It does not mean that Judas was the only person who had the power and courage enough to betray Jesus when all his enemies had failed to take hold of him. Then what was the reason for the enemy who could betray Jesus, only after it obtained the help of one of his disciples by name Judas as recorded in he gospels? b.According to John 18:1-4 he used to hide himself in secret places which were unknown to others. But the place was known to Judas, being one of his disciples. So the enemy sought his help to betray Jesus. 1. Compare Telugu and English of Isaiah - 53:4

c. In order to protect himself, Jesus used to lead his life often by disguising himself so as not to be recognized by any other. This was another reason to get the help of Judas . And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.But Jesus said unto him, Judas,betrayest thou the son of man with a kiss? -Luke 22:47-48 The above passage reveals the fact that Judas had betrayed him with a kiss, means he explained the enemy before hand that to whom soever he would kiss, that was the same person of Jesus who was in disguise. Thus his identity was disclosed by a pretence of tribute. Thus we read

And he that betrayed him had given them a token, saying, whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he; take him, and lead him away safely. And as soon as he was come, he goeth straightway to him, and saith, Master, master; and kissed him. And they laid their hands on him and took him. -Mark 14:44-45 The above passages are irrefutable evidences to prove that he used to lead his life often in underground by escaping and disguising himself so as to be protected from the enemy. Jesus prayed God to save him from being betrayed Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called gathsemane,and saith unto the diciples, sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. And he took with him Peter

and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death:tarry ye here, and watch with me.And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my father, if it be possible, let this cup1 pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.And he cometh unto the disciples and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, what could ye not watch with me one hour? watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. He went away again the second time and prayed saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done. And came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy. And leaving them, he went away and prayed the third time, saying the same words. -Matthew 26:36-44 These verses illustrate the prayers of Jesus. He prayed God not once or twice but many times.Then what was his invocation for? And how he prayed? Observe the following points. a. began to be sorrowful and very heavy. The successive clauses will reveal how sorrowful he had been. b. My soul is very sorrowful even unto death. The above clause focuses on the fact that he had been so exceedingly sorrowful that he became almost dead even before his death. As regards to this we have a reference from Gospel Mark 14:34.

And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sarrowful unto death: tarry ye here and watch.

c. Did he pray God that his life might be accepted as ransom for the sins of Christians which he was going to sacrifice on the cross to redeem them from Hell? No, but he prayed that he might be saved from the accursed death on cross: While the Church is under delusion that Jesus had offered his life on cross to save it from hell punishment. Then how far it is reasonble for Church to beat the drums that Jesus had offered himself, willingly and whole heartedly, to be crucified for the redemption of their sins in spite of his prayers to God to save him and having been disguised and hid himself in underground1, in order to protect himself from the enemy and from his anticipatory death if he happened to be betrayed? If we try to make them realize the facts - they pay no heed to ponder over the facts but go on arguing that he came only to shed his blood on cross. In order to support the argument, forgetting their doctrine of Divinity, attributed to Jesus, they say in haste , “it is only due to human weakness he prayed God to save him from death and anticipatory crucifixion.” Again to safeguard his divinity, “Though God in human incarnation, where will go all human weaknesses?” That’s why he felt grief and prayed to protect him. In fact he never rejected crucifixion. Did not he say “The spirit indeed is willing but the flesh is weak?” They ask (Matthew 26:41). There is no any relation between the reason put forward by Christian Church and the context and whom the words “Spirit indeed is willing but the flesh is weak” were reasonably applicable to. We do not want to discuss it here. It is an another topic

and has been elaborately discussed in our book ‘Is Atonement Necessary for Salvation?’ which may be referred to. However we would like to pinpoint on one main thing in this regard. And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul; but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. -Matthew 10:28 The person who said that no one can do any harm to the soul, and no one can hurt it but can hurt body only, could ever have said that his spirit (soul) is willing for the crucifixion but the flesh is weak? And so the reason as is being explained by church “Spirit indeed is willing but the flesh is weak” might have been said in some other context, but not relating in the case of his own self. Further they stress that it was due to human weakness. Whether it was Jesus' human weakness or whatever,being unable to realize the real fact despite so many points, is human misfortune. Again to make their argument strong they say, though he prayed, at last he said “Nevertheless not as I will but as Thou wilt” They give their exposition on this point saying to God as“Proceed according to your will. I am too ready” Here we should analyze carefully. Nevertheless not as I will but as thou wilt : Not my will but as your will. It means, there are two wills. One is God’s and another is Jesus’. It is clear that these two wills are in contrast with each other. One 'will' was God’s - According to context to make Jesus

die by means of crucifixion (Basing on Chrurch interpretations). Second 'will' which was of Jesus - By observing on his trials to escape from death and his prayers to God to save him from crucifixion, it can be presumed that Jesus’ decisive will was - to be saved from crucifixion. Surprisingly- in these two wills if either of them is fulfilled there could be no place for crucifixion as ransom. If Jesus’ will was given effect to, there would be no crucifixion at all as unwilling sacrifice cannot be accepted. Now second one, if God’s, will was given effect to, it becomes most unjust act to crucify an innocent person as ransom for the redemption of others' sins. Whatever it may be, it is clearly established from the above facts that Jesus never wanted to be crucified. Though Jesus prayed God to save him from death on cross and made his self efforts so as not to be betrayed of, by hiding in undergrounds and disguising himself, Christianity strongly believes and propagates that he is the saviour who sacrificed his life for redemption of their sins. Self introspection is necessary. He was despised and we esteemed him not. This is the last point of the verse, Isaiah 53:3 which is important to discuss. Let us analyse. Despise means to neglect with disrespect. We esteemed him not means we did not give him proper regard and respect as he ought to have been given . Then does it mean that all people had really rejected him? No. Thousands of people used to follow ever inclining on him. Yet Isaiah had prophesied that he (Jesus) was despised and was not given due regard. So let us examine how the prophecy is proved true despite Jesus having a great number of following.

Multitude of people were ever inclined on him 1.Observe the following verses : a. And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these words, he withdrew from Galilee, and came into the coasts of judaea beyond Jordan: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them there. -Matthew 19:1-2 b. And Jesus, going away from thence, came towards the sea of Galilee, and he went up into a mountain and sat down there;and great crowds came to him, having with them lame, blind, dumb, maimed and many others, and cast them at Jesus' feet, and he healed them: -Matthew 15:29-30 c. But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet. -Matthew 21:46 d. And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them. - Mark 2:2 e. And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land. -Mark 4:1 The verses are strong proof that huge gathering used to fol-

low him to listen his words and to be healed. Not only followed but also they believed him as a prophet. f. And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee. -Matthew 21:11

Jews could not betray Jesus - they feared the people The enemy who tried to kill him was unable to do so for the reason that huge number of people believed him as a prophet. They feared the multitude of people. So they could not betray him openly. a. But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet. -Mattew 21:46 b. And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way. -Mark:-12:12 c. And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him. And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him. -Luke:-19:47-48 All above exemplary verses say- that a huge crowd of people believed him as a prophet, and were in close association with him to listen his sermons and also to get healed by him, they used to follow him. The Jews who were trying to kill him were afraid of the crowd as it might turn againist them in defiance if they were to betray him openly. So they planned a crafty strategy and were waiting for a favourable chance.

Then can we say that Isaiah 53:3 is not righty prophesied which says that he was despised? But our findings proved that there was a huge number of people who followed him which fact is appearing to be in direct conflict to Isaiah’s prophency -what is the mystery behind? a.It is true that thousands of people followed him. b.It is also true that Jews were afraid of large number of people thinking that they might get an unfavourable reaction from them. c.It is also true that all people despised him. d.It is also true that Jews succeeded in their aspirations in betraying and in getting the death penalty by crucifixion imposed on him by pilate, the Governor. Now, we have to discuss that how Isaiah’s words “He was despised of and we esteemed him not” were proved true in his life even though thousands of people were following him?

Strategy of Jews ... succeeded The above verses a) Matthew 21:46 b) Matthew 2:12 and c) Luke 19:47-48 tell that Jews were afraid of large crowd which used to follow Jesus. So they plotted a cunning strategy in order to betray Jesus. Observe the following verses.

Ist trial (Ist step) The first trail of the strategy was, they wanted to know that how many of the people (followers of Jesus) would protest against them. Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid

himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by. -John 8:59 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. -John 10:31 Points to think about: 1.These two incidents had happened openly in presence of the followers of Jesus (crowd). 2. They attempted to stone him but they did not. why? because it was only a trail to know that how many people would support him.It was their provisional assessment to calculate the vigour and courage of the protestors among his followers. 3. He hid himself and gave them (the enemy) the slip and escaped. In the above two events Jews wanted to calculate the number of people that would react and protest against them. But no one opposed them. In this way indirectly the craft was boosted.

II trial (II step) Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand, -John 10:39 Points to ponder over Again they tried to betray means they tried to betray him before the above event also. Every time of their attempts Jesus used to escape, by every possible means by giving them the slip. On knowing the fact that there was no revolutionary protest againist them, from the followers of Jesus, the Jews began to accumulate more courage to betray him. And Jesus began to be more sorrowful.

III trial (III step) They propagated that they would impose social boycott on those who would believe Jesus as Christ. a. These words spake his parents, because they feared the jews:for the jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue. -John:-9:22 b. Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the jews. -John:7:13 There was no protest, no difiance, no any kind of agitation in favour of Jesus againist Jews from the people. So Jews became more courageous and Jesus needed more self defence.

IV trial (IV step) They boycotted one person form the society directly in public. If this man were not of god, he could do nothing,They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out. -John 9:33-34 In this way they spread the terrific feeling of disappointment and discouragement in society that they would impose social boycott on every one, who believes Jesus as Christ. Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed him;but because of the pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue: -john 12:42-43

V trial (V step) Jews who came to conclusion from the above trials that the followers of Jesus had no courage enough to protest against them- decreed an ultimatum that the place of Jesus’ refuge might be disclosed, enabling them to betray him. This underlines on the fact that by that time Jesus had already hid himself. Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a commandment, that, if any man knew where he were, he should shew it, that they might take him. -John:-11:57 Many disciples turned back From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. -John:-6:66 Who were these (people) that had desisted to follow Jesus? They were no other than his own followers who witnessed his miracles and many of them had been healed and moved in his close association and ate breads. And more over they were ones that had believed him as one sent by God as a prophet for them. In spite of all these facts, they became so scared by mere scarecrow threats of the enemy that they ceased from following him. Had they remonstrated against Jews, they could have checked the fradulent activities of the enemy. At last on seeing no one following him, Jesus began to doubt that his twelve disciples might also leave him. Had they protested, the situation could not have come to this stage necessitating Jesus to take shelter in undergrounds. Then said Jesus unto the twelve,will ye also go away? -John:-6:67

After these things Jesus walked in Galilee:for he would not walk in Jewry, because the jews sought to kill him. -John7:1 So Jesus tried to awake the spirit of the necessity of following him again in his disciples by assembling them and stressing on the importance of their (disciples) company. This was just as a token trial for the betterment of his self defencive measures. Jesus assembled many of his disciples and explained them that they should follow him. This was just as revitalization to bring back their fervour. And when he had called the people unto him with his desciples also, he said unto them,whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; But whosoever lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s,the same shall save it.For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the son of man be ashamed,when he cometh in the glory of his father with the holy angels. -Mark 8:34-38

But these precepts did not turn in favour of Jesus. On seeing that no one was there to defy them and to protect Jesus, Jews reached to conclusion that it was easy for them to betray him. However as a result of their conspiracy, they succeeded

in getting the decree to punish him on cross by accusing him as a traitor.

And when he was being taken for crucifixionAnd there followed him a great company of people, and of women, which also bewailed and lamented him.But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem,weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children.For, behold, the days are comming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare,and the paps which never gave suck. -Luke 23:27-29 Points to know from above passage: a. A huge multitude of people and women followed him regretting and lamenting when he was being led by Jews for crucifixion. Can we say that they were the people who had no love and affection towards Jesus? Of course they believed and had affection yet they could not protest againist Jews. Had they protested, Jews might not have had courage enough even to look at him. Because they used to afraid of followers of Jesus. b.Then Jesus desperately said- “O women of Jerusalem! Do not weep for me, but weep for you and your children, as you gave birth to such a futile, timid and unfortunate fellows who even did not dare to protest against Jews. If they did so, I might not have been caught in this unfortunate situation. Everything has now gone out of hand. What use of weeping now?� If this be the fact the claim of the church that Jesus was the lamb sent by God [Behold the lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world/ John 1:29], who sacrificed his life voluntarily as

ransom for the sins of people, appears to be untenable reasoning. Relating to the situation which favoured Jews in taking hold on Jesus, the points which have been discussed so far, already was prophesied by Isaiah in a nutshell by saying as “he was despised and we esteemed him not”. Observe the verse how justly agrees with the points which have been brought into light relating to his betrayal.

MISTAKEN PROPHECY MATTHEW GIVES CORRECT INTERPRETATION Let us analyse the 53:4 verse. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. Let us observe the verse under two parts. The first part is : “Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows”. It does not mean that Jesus bore our sins and sacrificed his life as ransom for our sins as is interpreted by church. But it means that many diseased persons would be healed and many demoniacs would be exorcized by Jesus Christ. Thus he relieved many diseased persons from their infirmities and afflictions and sorrows. To reflect its meaning in the same sense Isaiah had prognasticated that he (Jesus) would bear our griefs and sorrows. This interpretation appears as untenable at the first instance. It is not the product of our own hypothesis, but this has been illustrated by Matthew in

his gospel too. And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever. And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them. When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses. -Matthew 8:14-17 The above passage is taken from the Gospel of St. Matthew. In it he writes, as has been prophesied by the prophet Isaias that Jesus would himself take our infirmities and bear our sickness- to mean that Jesus would heal our diseases, which prophecy had been fulfilled by Jesus by healing so many diseased people. But to our great surprise Church interprets the prophecy of Isaiah to mean that Jesus was appointed to sacrifice his life for the redemption of our sins. And to strengthen its concept of atonement they produce this verse under discurssion. But St. Matthew in his gospel conforming with our interpretation, acklnowledged that many people were healed and many a devil was cast out in proof of the prophecy of Isaiah which was fulfilled in Jesus. This clearly means that Jesus healed the diseased only but did not ransom his blood for our sins. Now let us observe the second part of the verse

Yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted. This phrase commences with the word “yet”. In this context the word ‘yet’ (conjunction) underlines on the preceding event or statement. For example: I wrote him many letters repeatedly: yet he did not respond. This sentence means as saying in spite of my writing repeated letters to him he did not respond. Thus ‘yet’ makes an underline on its preceding clause to mean as, in spite of the clear prophecy- 'surely, he hath borne our griefs and carried our sorrows’ to mean in the sense of healing the infirmities of the people - which would be attested and confirmed and illustrated by their gospel - as agreed in Matthew 8:14-17... He was regarded as1 ... (he was believed to have) "sacrificed his life on cross to redeem our sins" (we did esteem him stricken) (and that) God Himself appointed Jesus to offer his life on cross as ransom for our sins (smitten of God and afflicted) (and that) he suffered all tortures attendant to his punishment on cross (and afflicted) ... to mean Jesus suffered all these for our redemption (we did esteem). In a nutshell what we mean to write is that this is a clear prophecy of Isaiah regarding how Church misinterprets his prophecy. And accordingly the propagation is being carried on. If we have a glance on the trials of Jesus which he made to be saved himself from the crafty devices of Jews, and on his repeated

prayers to God to save him from the death on cross, and on his taking shelter in undergrounds so as not to be betrayed, disproves the claim of Church that he came to die on cross for our redemption. And also disproves their false belief that God had appointed Jesus for this purpose only.

CRUCIFIXION OF JESUS NOT APPOINTED BY GOD-BUT THE OUTCOME OF SATAN'S HELP A. Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the passover. And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people. Then entered satan into Judas surnamed Iscoriot, being of the number of the twelve. And he went his way and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them. And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money. And he promised and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude. -Luke 22:1-6 B. Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil? -John 6:70 Analysis of these verses reveals the fact that the cruel intention of betraying Jesus was inspired by Satan. Think a whilewasn’t it Satan who prompted and helped to punish Jesus on cross? Then how far is it acceptable to think that it was decreed by God? If were the crucifixion really appointed to absolve our sins as is being deluded, Satan would have tried his best to prevent the crucifixion, so as that no soul could avail it. But here, he promoted and helped for this task. However the blood of Jesus that was shed on cross with the help of Satan not only became futile to save the Church from its sins but also involved them into additional sin as they are rejoicing in the blood of innocent Jesus as ransom for their sins- and thus they are put far away from salvation. Because he was not punished or crucified to absolve the sins. But it was purely Satanic device only but not divine decree. We should introspect ourselves, and examine ourselves whether we are in right belief according to Bible or not. Isaiah’s prophecy means as saying that Church deludes this for their salvation. “ Yet we did esteem him stricken.” means: against all the facts which have been discussed - we delude (regard) that Jesus himself sacrificed his life on cross and saved us from sins. However Isaiah clearly reveals that it is not a fact.

THE PROPHECY OF ISAIAH EXPLAINS THE DEPTH OF DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE ATTITUDE OF EARLY AND LATTER CHRISTIANS Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed. 1. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; 2. The chastisement of our peace was upon him and, 3. With his stripes we are healed. Let us analyse the above verse in three parts as devided above. Note :Here let us bear in mind that Christians believe that Jesus himself sacrificed his life on cross to redeem the sins. After staying 3 days in tomb he rose from dead and came out of the grave and appeared to his disciples. Then afterwards he ascended to heaven and sat on right hand of God. This is known as doctrine of cross. Christians think that one who belives this doctrine will be redeemed from the sins and enters the kingdom of heaven. Their propagations are being carried on only basing on this doctrine. Prophets are the representatives from the God who came to

preach people the God’s words. However people did not heartily welcome their preachings and follow them. Except a few, every one tried to torture every prophet (Matthew 23:29-37). Jesus was also one among them who suffered and was rejected by the people. However, I ask, how far it is reasonable for us to beat our breasts only on Jesus’ sufferings leaving all other prophets' sufferings and to profess the doctrine of salvation on this base? And what curious fact is, this doctrine has acquired a predominant place for propagation for which there is no proper and reasonable evidence from the teachings of Jesus and his attitude. I would like to bring to the notice of readers, that Isaiah in his prophecy under above verse clearly stated that what events would take place relating to Jesus. Yet not taking its real meaning church tries and interprets the prophecy in their favour to strengthen its doctrine of cross. Let us discuss the points one after another. Now let us analyse the three facts of the verse one by one. Jesus did not die but was wounded and bruised 1. But he was wounded for our trangressions, he was bruised for our iniquiteis. Who were they that had trangressed and how they had committed iniquities, can be noticed from our former discussions. Then what were the consequensences of our transgressions and iniquities? He was bruised only. He did not die, as is being propagated but was only wounded and bruised -is the essence of Isaiah’s verse. 2. The chastisement of our peace was upon him. “The chastisement of our peace was upon him” - means peace that his followers showed by not giving the repulsive attack to the attempts of Jews against Jesus was the cause for his chastisement.

On seeing that a massive multitude believed on Jesus and was following him, Jews could not dare to betray him. Then to assess that how many were there among multitude, who could protest against them, they put a trail by a pretence as if they would hit him with stones and yet there was no insurrection. Jesus escaped by giving them the slip. Later they attempted to betray him in public. Yet there was no reaction in the followers, no one remonstrated against Jews. Poor Jesus seeing that there was no reaction in his people he hid and escaped. Then they decreed an ultimatum that whosoever would follow Jesus would be boycotted but people did not respond and there was no difiance from the public. When they practically boycotted one person among the believers of Jesus even then there was no protestation. Having no other way Jesus remained in disguise and spent his days in undergrounds. After a few days people stopped even following him. Jews were unable to betray him as they were afraid of multitude that was following him ever inclined. When multitude ceased to follow him for fear of Jews they asked publicly to show them the place where he kept himself hidden so as they could betray him. Yet there was no defiance. Then one of the disciples helped them in betraying him. In this way what Isaiah had prophesied “The chastisement of our peace was upon him” means due to our (Jews) transgression and our (followers') peace (having no tendency of revolution) he was chastized, came true. Fact being thus, “ He is the lamb to sacrifice his life” as ransom for our sins is the interpretation of the church (with his stripes we are healed). However one thing we should remember that he did not die on cross as the Church thinks. Isaiah says that he was wounded

means only wounded and bruised but was not dead. From the above two clauses of Isaiah 53:5 we came to know that Jesus was punished due to the transgression of Jews and followers’ cowardice (peace). On realizing the fact that Jesus was betrayed and was being led to be put on cross only due to their cowardice and inability in protesting against the Jews who were planning their malicious devices, it is true that the followers of Jesus (early Christians) regretted very deeply (Luke 23:27-29). This was the attitude of the then followers of Jesus. Thus it is prophesied by Isaiah... but he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him. 3. And with his stripes we are healed But the attitude of the latter (present) Christians has been quite different. They are extremely happy as they are believing that Jesus had sacrificed his life on cross as ransom for their sins... thus they rejoice (with his stripes we are healed). This is the prophecy by Isaiah about the attitude of early Christians and latter Christians which constitute heavens of difference.

Then the pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him. -Matthew 12:14 After two days was the feast of the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death. -Mark 14:1

I know that ye are Abraham’s seed; but ye seek to kill me, be-cause my word hath no place in you. -John 8:37 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham. -John 8:40 2. Jews who believed Jesus as a prophet: - they were large in number and used to follow him every time. According to Matthew 19:1-2, 15:29-31, 14:13, 21:11 Mark 2:2 and 4:1, we can notice the following of multitude of Jews who believed on Jesus. And also we can notice that Jews who tried to kill Jesus were really afraid on seeing this large number of followers (Matthew 21:46, Mark 12:12, Luke 19:47-48). Though they dreaded the multitude that had been following him, they did not refrain from their attempts but decided to betray him by crafty designs. Then, they made some cunning devices to know the moral support and mannual strength of the multidude that had been ever inclined on Jesus which (the trails) were already discussed in former chapters. At last they accused him as a traitor alleging him to have declared himself as a king of Jews and persuaded people not to pay tax to ceaser (Luke 23:1-2). There was no voice in favour of Jesus to counter the false accusations against him by the Jews. In this way the multitude who were believers in Jesus, also had gone astray... (all we like sheep have gone astray)

3. The government who supported Jews by believing their accusations also had enrolled itself among those who had gone astray like sheep. 4. One of his disciples who was tempted by Satan, helped the Jews in betraying the disguised Jesus at underground was also one among them, who had gone astray like sheep (John 18:1-3 + 12). 5.Governor Pilate also had gone astray like sheep, as he surrendered to people's choice setting aside the norms of judgment. Though he knew the innocence of Jesus, which fact he expressed by telling that he couldn’t find any fault in him (John 18:38), yet he sentenced him death penalty by crucifixion, by way of which he also joined among the sheep that had gone astry. 6. Even Pilate's wife also strayed, though she recommended Pilate saying- “Have thou nothing to do with that just man” as she suffered a lot in her dream about him, she forgot to take notice of the fact how far her recomendation had been implemented (Matthew 27:19-20). 7. Just as the then Jews, the present Christians too well rejoice in the death of Jesus. They began to speculate that the death of Jesus on cross is the only means for their salvation. Thus the entire Christondom has strayed... (all we like sheep have gone astray). And this is what is being discussed all about. The Christian pastors proclaim that the entire chapter 53 of Isaiah is the prophetic exposition of Jesus' death on cross for the remission of their sins. But according to us the same chapter of Isaiah contradicts their speculations. Our further points prove this fact. So he was punished only due to the iniquity of those who had

gone astray, but not for the redemption of sins, which was clearly expounded by Isaiah. Isaiah had clearly prophesied saying “ But he was wounded for our transgression (53:5)" meaning he did not offer himself as sacrifice for the remission of our sins as is the misinterpretation of the church, but he was put on cross as a result of our transgression where upon he was wounded but not died. And the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all 53:6 According to Isaiah the cause for the punishment of Jesus on cross was the iniquity of the followers. The church poses iniquity to mean as the sin of the people. But according to context, in fact, iniquity means the behaviour which is morally unfair, which actually refers to the acts how his followers dealt with him, which all we have discussed earlier. Isaiah prophesies that God hath laid on him the iniquity goes to mean, all our unfair dealings with Jesus became the source and reason for his punishment on cross but Jesus did not offer himself as sacrifice taking our sin, as is interpreted by the church.

ISAIAH - 53:7 He was oppressed - and afflicted yet opened not his mouth He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, Yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. He was oppressed- (when he was all alone) Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands, Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee? -Matthew 26:67-68 Thus the Jews who did not believe, oppressed Jesus. Jews who did not believe in Jesus accused him as a traitor and also got the help of soldiers. At last they succeeded in betraying him. Instead of keeping him in the custody of Pilate, soldiers brought him to the Kaipa (head of Jews). This was the oppression committed by soldiers on Jesus Christ (John 18:12-14).

Oppression committed by Pilate - on Jesus: Though Pilate knew that he was accused by prejudiced Jews (Matthew 27:18), he committed a mistake by releasing Barabbas as a substitute of Jesus according to people’s choice (Matthew 27:26). He obeyed people's demand and sentenced Jesus to be scourged and then to be crucified. Thus he was oppressed. 1. As regards to this last clause 'nor you let me go' we have discussed in our other books 'Is Atonement Necessary for Salvation?' and 'The Profile of Paul'.

Oppression committed by soldiers on Jesus. And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. And when they had plaited a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him and mocked him, saying, Hail king of the Jews! And they spit upon him and took the reed and smote him on the head. And after that they had mocked him they took the robe off from him and put his own raiment on him and led him away to crucify him. -Matthew 27:28-31 They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof he would not drink. -Matthew 27:34 And they crucified him and parted his garments casting lots: that it might be fulfilled wich was spoken by the prophet... -Matthew 27:35 And set up over his head his accusation written. THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS. -Matthew 27:37

Even thieves mocked at him and also passers by Then there were two thieves crucified with him... (38) And they that passed by reviled him... (39) Likewise also the chief priests mocking him... (41) -Matthew 27:38-41 As quoted above all behaved excessively with him. Thus the prophecy of Isaiah, that he would be oppressed came true.

Yet he opened not his mouth. Here it means that he did not beg Jews or Roman Government for his release nor filed a mercy pitition to save his life after he was sentenced death penalty. It is mistake to think that he did not open his mouth even, from the time he was betrayed to the time he was put on cross. Analyse the following passages. A. And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him. But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss? -Luke 22:47-48 B. Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves? When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness -Luke 22:52-53 C. And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying, Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe; And if I also ask you, ye will not answer me, nor let me go1. -Luke 22:66-68 These three situations prove that he opened his mouth in presence of religious leaders, at the time of his betrayal. When he was asked about his disciples and doctrine he opened his mouth and spoke in the following manner.

D. The high priest then asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his doctrine. Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing. Why askest thou me? ask them which heard me, what I have said unto them: behold, they know what I said. And when he had thus spoken, one of the officers which stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Answerest thou the high priest so? Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: but if well, why smitest thou me? -John 18:19-23 It is clear from the above verses that Jesus gave one answer to the chief priest and another to the person who hit him in presence of the chief priest. Here we can see that Jesus opened his mouth and spoke. E. Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the king of the Jews? Jesus answered him, sayest thou this thing of thyself or did others tell it thee of me? -John 18:33-34 F. Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done? Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. - John 18:35-36

G. Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king, To this end was I born and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all. -John 18:37-38 The above verses tell that how courageously Jesus answered to the questions posed by the Governer Pilate in his palace. So the words “yet he opened not his mouth” do not mean that he remained completely silent. He opened his mouth and told every thing what he had to tell. Then what do these words “Yet he opened not his mouth” mean? They mean that he did not appeal for mercy as do the criminals generelly who are sentenced death punishment. Why he did not? It is againist to his honour and prestige. And also he thought that it is useless to ask Pilate to release him as Pilate was completely subdued by Jews who tried their best to make an end of him by hook or by crook. They accused him as a traitor and produced false witnesses to get the decree of death penalty by the Governor successfully. In the situation such as this, it makes no difference if he repeatedly beg for mercy or keep himself dumb not opening his mouth. Then it does not mean that he whole heartedly submitted himself before Pilate so as to enable him to carry on the act of crucifixion to redeem the sins of Christians as they believe. His unwillingness for crucifixion can be noticed from his appeal to God on cross- saying “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" (Mark 15:34). In the following verses Isaiah clearly says that Jesus was reluctant for crucifixion. This tells in

clear terms that his crucifixion was not appointed as an act of ransom for the sins of Church but he was put on cross as a punishment for the false accusations made against him by Jews as an antinational activist. Isaiah also told that God would save him and he expounded these two things with the similitudes of two lambs.

Isaiah contradicted wilful sacrifice of Jesus and also his death on cross by similitude of two lambs A. He was led as a lamb to the slaughter. B. As a sheep dumb before her shearers. A. Any lamb that is dragged to the butcher house does not come towards butcher whole heartedly to be killed and consumed.The similitude of this lamb shows Jesus' complete reluctance for the crucifixion. B. The sheep brought before her shearers does not feel that it would be released after she was shorn but deludes and lose heart fearing that she is going to be slaughtered. The similitude of this sheep also shows Jesus' unwillingness for crucifixion. And on the other hand it emphasises on the fact that how Jesus was saved even though he dreaded just as the sheep trembles before her shearers and at last is set free after she was shorn. These two similitudes very aptly attract to the attitudes of Jesus’ experience in his life. Isaiah had prophesied that Jesus would not die on cross- he was only a lamb brought forth before her shearers. (This rules out the false doctrine of cross.) And he had also prophesied that Jesus came not for his wilful sacrifice- he was led as a lamb to the slaughter - which point very clearly admits that Jesus was not at all willing for his sacrifice.

Let us keep in mind the trials that JEWS did to betray JESUS and to put him on cross and the efforts how he gave them the slip and escaped from being caught - and how he disguised himself so as not to be made known that it was he himself and that how he remained in underground so as not to be betrayed of and above all, his repeated prayers to God to save him from death on the cross, unequivocally establish the fact that Jesus came not to sacrifice his life on cross as ransom for the sins of church, as is believed and propagated. Following words of Jesus elucidate authentically that he was not willing at all for crucifixion. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? -Matthew 27:46 This verse states that he did not submit himself for crucifixion. His unwillingness for crucifixion has been compared by Isaiah stating Jesus as a lamb led to the slaughter. Here another important point to ponder over is, “did he die on cross or we delude that he did die?” Isaiah had prophesied that just as the sheep before her shearers fears of her death, though Jesus feared terribly that he might not escape death, God saved him from death on cross, just as the sheep is set at liberty after she was shorn. In both of the cases of lamb and Jesus- fear of death was common, dragging the sheep to the place of shearers and putting Jesus on cross was common- and setting to liberty in both of their cases was common. some difference between the sheep and Jesus. The sheep was released willingly after she was shorn. But Jesus was released from cross as he was believed to have been already dead. This is the similitude of Isaiah of "the sheep brought before the shearers” corresponds to. But the church takes its interpretation as just as the lamb before the shearers keeps quiet so also Jesus “yet he openend not his mouth” meaning he volunterily offered his life on cross as ransom for its sins. In the beginning of the verse also we have the clause “yet he opened not his mouth” about which we have already discussed in our former pages. And again we have the same clause “so he openend not his mouth” at the end of the verse. So let us discuss about this also. We have already discussed the prophecy of Isaiah corresponding to the similitude of two different lambs “one was led to slaughter” and the other as "a sheep before her shearers". Just as the sheep before her shearers is terribly frightened that it might not escape death: but later is set at liberty after she was shorn where there was no point of death in her case; even so, exactly in the same manner, Jesus was also saved by God when he was put on cross. This became a mystery. He went into coma saying “ My God, my God why hast thou forsaken me?” The state of Jesus’ unconsciousness was mistaken for his death. Every one thought that Jesus died on the cross. But Isaiah prophesied that Jesus would not die on the cross: to say in clear terms that Jesus would not die but become unconscious which has been described by him allogarically saying as “He opened not his mouth”. This state of Jesus was mistaken for his death. These points are discussed in our forth coming pages.

PUNISHMENT OF JESUS ON CROSS WAS THE OUTCOME OF TRANSGRESSION OF PEOPLE AND UNJUST DECREE OF GOVERNOR He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. A. He was taken from prison and from judgement. B. For the transgression of my people was he stricken. C. For he was cut off out of the land of the living. D. Who shall declare his genaration?

Let us discuss each clause separately A. He was taken from prison and from judgment. From the words "he was taken from prison and from judgement" one should not mistake that the case of Jesus was acquitted and that he was released with due respect. But taking into consideration of Telugu version1, one can conclude that he was taken for the implementation of the death sentence given by the Governor an unjust ruling. Isaiah had prophesied that Jesus would mete out with unjust rulings of the Governor's court under the pressure of prejudiced people (for the transgression of my people was he stricken). 1. proceedings on Jesus Now let us see how the proceedings were carried out in Jesus’ case. He was betrayed at night and thenWhen the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death. And when they had bound him they led him away and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the Governor. -Matthew 27:1-2 And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the king of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest. -Matthew 27:11 Note : The important thing to note here is the prime accusation on Jesus was that he was declaring himself as a king of Jews. Pilate asked the same thing in his interrogation. Jesus directly did not deny but he answered “Thou sayest”. Though the inner meaning of the clause ‘Thou sayest’ bears denial, apparently it sounds as his acceptance as according to Telugu version ''h=#ß>èÁÑÑ (as thou sayest) basing on which the Governor could have responded adversely the point however is not concerned here. In the following passage, we see that many accusations were alleged against Jesus Christ apart from the above main accusation. And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders he answered nothing. Then said Pilate unto him,

Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee? And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the Governor marvelled greatly -Matthew 27:12-14 Note : Though a number of accusations were made against Jesus Christ he remained silent. Pilate was astonished on seeing him not protesting even to a single accusation. The behaviour of crowd and irrelevant accusations on Jesus yet his non-reactive silence made Pilate to predict that Jesus was innocent. Apart from these, his wife sent a message, saying, not to harm him as she suffered a lot in dream about him (Matthew 27:19). The important point to note here is that Jesus did not condemn the accusations made on him, so as to enable Pilate to dismiss the case and to release him. Moreover there was no defencive witness in favour of Jesus from any quarter. Hence as there was no other way than to give his verdict against Jesus, and to avoid this and to change this trend he tried his best to appease the people to make them withdraw their allegations against Jesus.

Pressure of people and unjust decree of Pilate For he knew that for envy they had delivered him. -Matthew 27:18 So he determined to release him by any possible means-

First trial to release him. Now at that feast the governor was wont to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they would. And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas. Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ? For he knew that for envy they had delivered him. -Matthew 27:15-18 Points to ponder over : He asked people whether he should release Barabbas? or Jesus Christ? It implies to mean that he wanted to release Jesus. No one among people witnessed againist Jews in favour of Jesus about his innocence. Jesus also did not tell about his innocence. He knew that except his twelve disciples all people ceased to follow him and were not courageous even to speak about him for fear of Jews1. So he did not expect any favourable witness from the public, and hence he did not open his mouth. And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar’s friend: whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Caesar. -John 19:12 The whole multitude of people with one voice, repeatedly shouted that Jesus should be crucified (John 19:15). Amidst such frenzy situation the suggestion of Pilate and his seeking people’s verdict whether he might release Barabbas or Jesus, may appear like childish or insane words of Pilate. But he was intelligent and

discreet judge. He knew that Jesus was innocent but he should not release him directly without any proof of his innocence. Jesus was accused in a major case of treason. So Pilate did not get any chance to release him and he dismayed that Jews might complain againist him for his illegal support to a traitor and about his improper judgement- to Caeser. Then not only Jesus but also Pilate would be punished by him for his improper judgement. Pilate understood complete situation, then he planned to release Jesus as he had only one chance to utilize it. There used to be a tradition in society to release one prisoner of the people’s choice on the festival day. He wanted to avail that opportunity of that day and asked people whether to release Barabbas or Jesus that he might thus get even one right in favour of Jesus. Another point to think here is, two theives along with Barabbas were also there in prison. Pilate could ask wether to release Jesus or any one among two thieves. But he did not do so, but he kept only Barabbas as a substitute, because Barabbas was more dangerous than remaining two. He was a killer and tortured many others (Luke 23:19). So Pilate asked to whom should he release whether Barabbas or Jesus. Thus he wanted to intimidate the people that if were Barabbas released that he would create terror in the city whereby they loose their peace and sleep Matthew 27:16. This is the best token for the wisdom of Pilate. But all his threats fell on deaf ears and people preferred Barabbas to be released and demanded the execution of Jesus. But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus. -Matthew 27:20 What it was that Jesus had preached was known to every one. He came to reform the Jewish community. Reformation implies to mean within itself, that the people of that time had been involved

in irreligious traditions other than the real commandments of God. ... To this end was I born and for this cause came I into the world that I should bear witness unto the truth... -John 18:37 When he was asked that why his disciples ate without purified hands leaving the tradition of ancestors, Jesus expounded the verse of Isaiah which can be well implied from the statement of Jesus. In consideration of the verse of Isaiah we can understand that what were the transgressions of Jews that led them to oppose Jesus from the following verses. Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands? He answered and said unto them, well hath Esaias Prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. -Mark 7:5-9 Woe unto you scribes and pharisees hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte and when he is made ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves. -Mathew 23:15 The more he tried his best to reform the community, the more

This goes to prove that man does not try to know the facts, but ever follows the traditions of his fathers which he has learnt right from his childhood.

people desired Barabbas to be released instead of a holy person Jesus: The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said Barabbas. Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified. And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified. -Matthew 27:21-23 The following is the last trial of Pilate- which he did to create fear of God in people by saying that he was not personally responsible for the sin of innocent man. When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it. -Matthew 27:24 But Pilate's precepts did not work at that moment but fell on deaf ears. Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children. -Matthew 27:25

This is the rampant sign for religious frenzy. Then released he Barabbnas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified. -Matthew 27:26 We have seen from the above points that how the words of Isaiah, "He was taken from prison and from judgement" to mean that he would be punished with improper judgement, is proved true. B. For the transagression of my people was he stricken. Isaiah prophesied that he would be stricken. But did not say that he would be killed: The same thing was told in 53:5 that he was wounded and bruised. Isaiah told that he was wounded and bruised and stricken for the trangression of Jews (my people). When Isaiah stresses that he was only to be tortured, how can one say that he died as ransom for our sins? If this be the fact how far it is proper to beat one's breast that Jesus died to redeem us from our sins? People mistook Jesus as dead C. for he was cut off out of the land of living According to church the clause “ For he was cut off out of the land of living”- is being interpreted that Jesus died on the cross and so his name was no longer found in the names of living (Thus he was dead). To be frank the clause ‘For he was cut off out of the land of living’- means as saying “Though he was living he was

regarded as one really dead”. In other words what the prophecy imply to mean is- “People would mistake him to be dead” (Thus he was really living). And we can notice that how people mistook him to be dead. The following points reveal this fact. The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him. But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs. -John 19:31-33 For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled. A bone of him shall not be broken. -John 19:36 From the above passage we can understand that the prophecy about Jesus speaks that none of his bones be broken. According to prophecy if bones were not broken, how could one kill him? Had he really been dead, according to prophecy if his bone was not to be broken what advantage was he going to enjoy mere saving his bone intact when life had been extincted? In Telugu we have a proverb ‘None can pluck your hair’ mening no one can least harm you. If none can be able to harm, how can one cause one to die? The same similitude Jesus had expressed in the following passage. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. -Matthew 10:30

The above statement of Jesus in other words, 窶郎ou need no fear of anybody, none can pluck your hair. They are all numbered'. What we want to stress on here is if that no bone of Jesus was to be broken, how could one cause him to die? It was very short period that he and other two malefactors were kept on cross. No one dies in such a short period of time, unless death is hastened by other means. That is why the legs of remaining two thieves were broken. When soIdiers examined Jesus, they found him died alredy and left him without breaking his legs. But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. -John 19:34 When they pierced his side, blood came out which is a strong proof that he did not die until that moment because blood does not gush forth from dead body. On seeing Jesus who became faint, they thought that he died on the cross. Pilate could not believe when he heard that Jesus had been dead. And Pilate marvelled if he were already dead: and calling unto him the centurion, he asked him whether he had been any while dead. -Mark 15:44 As we told earlier, no one dies in such a short period on the cross, unless one is killed by other means. Pilate astonished on hearing that he died in such a short period of time and asked surprisingly whether he had been really dead.

Isaiah repeatedly stressed on saying that he would not die. A. But he was wounded for our transgression. (53:5) B. He was bruised for our iniqueties. (53:5) C. And with his stripes we are healed. (53:5) D. He was opressed and he was afflicted. (53:7) E. (As allegory) - as a sheep before her shearers. (53:7) F. For the transgression of my people was he stricken. (53:8) In all above verses nowhere did he say that Jesus would die. But the arguement is on delusion that how Jesus' unconsciousness was mistaken for his death. What one should note here is that Isaiah had prophesied and said that Jesus would be wounded, bruised, oppressed, afflicted and stricken but did not say that he had been dead on cross. Yet he elucidated on the point of the delusion of the people saying to mean “people regard him as the one really dead, in the following figurative clause which is being discussed. for he was cut off out of the land of living: (means) every one deluded him as dead. And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? -Luke 24:5 Things to ponder over : 1. From the above passage we notice that the angels did not tell as “ressurected one” but said as ‘living one’.

2. Why seek ye the living among the dead? means, why do you think a living man to be a dead one?

NO RESURRETION FORM DEATH - BUT RESUSCITATION FROM COMA When Mary of Magdalene told that Jesus was alive and she saw him - his disciples did not believe. Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not. -Mark 16:9-11 After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country. And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them. -Mark 16:12-13 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. -Mark 16:14 We can see the fact in above three verses that the disciples did not believe when they were told that they saw Jesus being alive. If the resurrection of Jesus were to be a truth and had Jesus ever told that he would resurrect, there remains no meaning in not believing the words of those that had seen. This goes to prove that Jesus never told before people or even to his disciples that he would be resurrected. Another thing is, when Jesus became unconscious

on the cross, Roman soldiers, Jews and disciples- all deluded that he died on cross. That’s why, when Mary Magdalene told that she saw Jesus, they did not believe. Read the following event: And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, peace be unto you. But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet. And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. And he took it, and did eat before them. -Luke 24:36-43 Things to ponder over 1. When he appeared to all disciples they grew into nervous thinking him to be a spirit. It discloses the fact that he never told his disciples that he would be resurrected. Had he told them, they might have remembered it. 2. “ Behold my hands and my feet that it is I myself� handle me and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones. Yet they did not believe so he took a piece of fish and ate. 1. In this connection there is difference of opinion among gospel writers. Matthew 27:38-44 and Mark 15:27-32 agree with each other. Whereas Luke has given his opinion in an another way. While John is silent on this matter (John 19:18).

These are natural faculties of mankind which he exhibited, so as to disclose that it was he himself the original Jesus, but not a spirit as they supposed him to be, the act of which is a strong witness to prove that all people including his disciples thought that Jesus died on the cross. And this was why they could not believe when they heard that he was alive. But when he personally appeared to them they thought him to be a spirit (devil). Isaiah prophesied that this type of situation as discussed above would be prevalent by saying as “for he was cut off out of the land of the living� proved true and was fulfilled. But the Church which has invented the doctrine of cross - to strengthen it, they argue that Jesus died for mankind on the cross and in support of their argument they further show the same verse which is under discussion. It is as good as, a familiar Telugu proverb which goes as - while consuming milk cat closes its eyes - so also the self deception which they are rejoicing in, let them think, that how far it is useful to them. D. And who shall declare his generation? The meaning of this clause is, despite his clear prophecy that he (Jesus) would be stricken, wounded and bruised - the same words have been perverted by the "later (present)" generation to mean for his death and propagate that he had been killed on cross "for our iniquities" - who can make such people ponder over the facts? And his disciples themselves could not believe the words of those that told that Jesus was alive and had been seen of them - if that be the case with his own disciples what would be the position of common people? Thus every one thought that Jesus was killed on cross. Isaiah prophesied these facts yet he grieves saying that who would believe his prophecy?

ISAIAH - 53:9 METAPHORIC WORDS MUST NOT BE TAKEN TO MEAN IN LITERAL SENSE And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. It cannot be exaggaration if we say that the Christians have failed to understand this verse of the prophecy too in its correct perspective. In some cases the real meaning of any ambiguous verse can be rightly perceived only when it is compared with the incidents taken place former and later. So let us examine the verse in comparision with the former arguments. The verse begins with the words... “And he made his grave with the wicked and with the rich in his death...� which are symbolically used for his punishment on cross. Here his death is figuratively used for his unconscious state. Let us recall to our mind the things which have been previously discussed. Death of Jesus was a mere delusion of the church. His unconscious state was deluded to be his death. Basing on this only the church invented the doctrine of cross. It has been made clear that he did not die on the cross. Therefore the word death which is used here may be taken to mean figuratively for his unconsciousness. We can find a number of such similitudes, symbolical uses, figurative words in the gospels just as in other scriptures too.

for example : A. Let the dead bury their dead (Matthew 8:22) B. Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross, and follow me (Mark 8:34). If we take the above verses in literal sense it reflects humourous meanings. Because as a matter of fact “dead cannot bury their dead,” and the thing is impossible. Here disbelieving people are termed as dead figuratively. The second verse is also of the same type. If we apply the literel meaning to it all christianity should have been moving about laden with the burden of cross. But its meaning figuratively stands for the “troubles” that one has to face, that come in the way of following Jesus. He made his grave with the wicked... To be frank to bury him with wicked is a thing unacceptable. The grave selected for him was not at all a grave but a very spacious hall (room) wherein many people at a time can enter and move about. Moreover it was not in the burial ground. Depending on the arguments coming in the following pages, it was not at all a grave. But it was a secret place where he was kept for giving medical treatment. This is because he did not die on the cross but sustained some injuries and went into swoon. ... his grave with the wicked. Who were these wicked? When his state of unconsciousness is taken for his death in figurative sense, those two who were crucified along with Jesus,

one on the right and the other on the left side were wicked ones to mean in figurative sense as “unbelievers”. Thus there were two theives crucified with him one on the right hand and another on the left. -Matthew 27:38 These two were thieves. What type of belief they had on Jesus? 1

The thieves also which were crucified with him cast the same in his teeth. -Matthew 27:44 When Jesus was put on cross, a great number of people who had no faith on Jesus rediculed and blamed him. In the same manner these two thieves also behaved with him. So these two thieves were also faithless ones the point of which is proved. Grave is the word used as similitude for the “punishment on cross”. There was no tomb for Jesus which point we came to know from the preceding arguments. Therefore it can be taken for granted that he was not buried along with the thieves but was put on cross - is the undisputed matter. For this we have the third part of the verse as a strong witness. ...with the rich in his death. If it is believed that Jesus had been buried along with the wicked, then does it mean that after his burial once again he was exhumed and put with rich? Let us examine in detail.

The role of Arimathaea Joseph When did Arimathaea Joseph come to Pilate? After when Jesus was put on cross or after his burial? He came when Jesus was put on cross. Why did he go to Pilate? To take permission from him

and to put Jesus in grave, (his secret farm/ guest house). Now examine the whole verse keeping in view of the events took place before and later, his taking into graveAnd he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich, in his death. If we take the above metaphoric decription to mean in its proper way as we explained earlier, we can arrive at its correct meaning as here under. He was put on cross along with the two malefactors. He was put with (at) a rich man Joseph of Arimathaea. Now we can arrive at its correct meaning from the following. This man went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid. -Luke 23:52-53 As we say “that he made his grave with the wicked” to mean in figurative sense as “ he was put on cross along with wicked”, but not really buried with wicked in literal sense which point is supported in the above verses saying as that grave wherein Jesus was put in - 'never a man before was laid'. What we finally conclude is that just as grave with the wicked is meant for punishment on cross with the wicked”, so also the death of Jesus figuratively stands for his unconscious state on cross- but not his real death in literal sense.

Let us analyse the clause ‘with the rich in his death’. As regards to the remaining two clauses, 1. ‘He had done no violence’. 2. ‘Neither was any deceit in his mouth' are acceptable, to all where there is no contravorcy. From our earlier discussion it is made clear that Jesus’ unconsciousness was figuratively used for his death. So it can be taken for granted that when he went into swoon he was kept with the rich. He was kept at rich : Had he really been dead,does it make any sense to believe that he was kept with the rich? can any one keep the dead body with him? If this be the fact, the rich person kept Jesus with him... do these words not imply to mean that Jesus did not die? Who is that rich person ? When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus’ disciple: -Matthew 27:57 And behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor, and he was a good man, and a just: (The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them;) he was of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews: who also himself waited for the kingdom of God. -Luke 23:50-51 What was his role? He asked Pilate to give him Jesus’ body, 1. Matthew 27:59

and separated it from cross and wrapped it in linen cloth and kept it in a tomb. As soon as one hears of grave, the general impression that one forms about its dimensions as 4’ depth 2’ width 6’ length ditch wherein people commonly bury their dead. As a matter of fact this much of ditch is enough to serve as a grave to bury the people. But the grave where Jesus was put in was not so small but a huge hewn stone. It was not hewn immediately after when Jesus was removed from the cross but it had been existing ready, hewn long before. Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid. There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews’ preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand. -John 19:41-42 Note : The garden - and the hewn huge stone that appeared like a cave was not really a grave, as no one was ever buried in it. These belong to Joseph of Arimathaea which might be his farm/ guest house. Then why has it been said as grave? This is only to create misconception in the minds of readers to think of it as a small grave of common people. And moreover he was not buried but was laid in it (Matthew 27:60). Spaciousness of that tomb wherein Jesus was laid. Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. -Luke 24:1-2

Who were those women? how many were they? 1. Mary Magdalene 2. Johanna 3. Mary (Mother of James) 4. and other women along with them (number of the women was not mentioned but plural form was used. So definitely they were not less than at least two). It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles. -Luke 24:10 Hence they were atleast five. There were two other members already in the room (grave) before their entry. And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold two men stood by them in shining garments. -Luke 24:4 In this way atleast seven members entered the tomb. We can assume how spacious was the room as seven members were in the room and five of them were searching Jesus. Kept at rich : How? Jesus was buried after the manner of Jews just as lazerusa comparision. That rich person brought Jesus’ body from Pilate and Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury. -John 19:40


Isaiah 53------------------------------------------------------------- 82

Let us recall to our minds as how the dead Lazerus was buried according to the tradition of the Jews. On fourth day of his death Jesus raised him from the dead1. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was boud about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. -John 11:44 Important points to note from the above. A. Hands and legs were tied, with grave clothes. B. The clothes by which his dead body was covered were called as grave- clothes. C. By the miracle of Jesus he was raised but he was by himself unable to strip off the grave clothes unless any other strip off them.(Jesus saith unto them, loose him and let him go. -John 11:44) D. There was no evidence of using spices and ointments when Lazarus was buried. Let us compare A. Clothes used for Jesus were not grave clothes. He was wrapped in linen cloth. B. We know that the linen cloth and napkin were found at different places (John 20:7). They mignt have been stripped off by those two angels (John 20:12). C. He wrapped it [body of Jesus] in a clean linen cloth (Matthew 27:59).

D. The linen cloth was not one that was brought from home but bought from shop. And he bought fine linen.

-Mark 15:46

Note: The linen instantly bought from the shop is generally clean. But here Matthew specially mentioned the word “clean linen cloth.” Reason is not known yet can be predictable as it was sterilized means scientifically purified to use it for him. Sterilize = make sterile sterile = make free from micro-organisms. E. And wrapped in linen and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone. And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid. -Luke 23:53 The act, he kept him in the tomb suggests, all the traditional formalities that were to be observed necessarily before keeping the dead in grave were accomplished, in the case of Jesus too. F.

And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid. And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment. -Luke 23:55-56

A doubt : What note worthy point here is, after accomplishment of traditional formalities that were necessary to be attendant to, having been given affect to the body of Jesus, “They returned and prepared spices and ointments” - why? If they were required to be applied to the body of Jesus even before keeping him in the sepul-

chre, they ought to have been bought even at the time of purchasing the linen cloth from shop. The act of preparing the spices and ointments after keeping Jesus in sepulchre, proves that they were not meant for the purpose of traditional formalities to be accomplished before keeping the body in tomb. Then what for they prepared the spices and ointments after every formality had been given affect to the body of Jesus? Hence it is made clear that those were meant for some other purpose only. As the day following was Sabbath, the shops remain closed and hence it was not possible to acquire them. So they prepared them in the evening of Friday even before nightfall, to use them on sunday.

In the manner of Jews to bury Jesus was put in grave after the accomplishment of all traditional formalities- as the manner of Jews to bury. we read : Then took the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury. -John 19:40 G. A person arrived at night and on his head there was a heavy bundle. And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight. -John 19:39 Nicodemus came to Jesus at first by night. What was the purpose of coming to the tomb especially in the night? He came first means there were others also who were to come after him, doesn’t it mean? He did not come with empty hands but he brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes about 100 pounds weight.

Jesus was put in grave even before nightfall. Nicodemus came in the night. So the myrrh and aloes what he brought were not to be used in the traditional formalities observed at the burial of dead in the manner of Jews to bury. So they were brought to meet some other purpose. Jesus was buried in the manner of Jews Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury -John 19:40 Note: Jesus was put in grave even before nightfall. But necodemus came by night. What for?

Medical treatment - in secret Right from the taking down Jesus from cross to the third day they used five different things. a. clean linen cloth. And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth. -Matthew 27:59 Note : This was done immediately after taking down Jesus’ body from cross. b. Mixture of myrrh and aloes. (John 19:39) (May be to use in that night) And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight. -John 19:39

c. Prepared spices and ointments. And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments;

and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment. -Luke 23:56 (May be to use on sunday) In this way they used the following five types of things. 1. Clean linen cloth. 2. Myrrh. 3. Aloe. 4. Spices. 5. Ointments. To ascertain the medicinal values of these things, I referred the Oxford English dictionary. If we observe their meanings we will find them as the herbs and things possessed of medicinal values which were used for the treatment of Jesus. Linen Generally we see these words on the cupboards of hospitals in which the cloths are kept which are used to dress the wounds. Linen (noun)- cloth woven from flax. What does the flax mean? Flax - blue flowered plant grown for its stem and oily seeds. 1. Though the Gospel of Luke was written after a long period of this event,we have quoted this only to point out that the linen clothes were used as richman's apparel.

Linseed - seed of flax (linseed oil) Lineseed oil = an oil made from flax seeds. So now linen cloth means the cloth which is woven with flax and linseed oil (observe the Telugu version Esther 8:15) 2. Myrrh Myrrh : Gum resin used in preparation of perfumes, medicines and incense etc. 3. Aloe (N) Plant with toothed fleshy leaves; strong laxative from Aloe Juice (Aloe vera= a substance used in cosmetics) 4. Spices (N) Spices - aromatic or pungent vegetable substance used as flavouring. aromatherapy = use of plant extracts and oils in massage. 5. Ointments (N) Ointments - Smooth greesy healing or cosmetic prepatation for skin. Cosmetic (adj) - Beautifying, Superficially improving (of surgery etc.); restoring or enhancing normal appearence. Bravo - Joseph Joseph was not only an eminent member but also rich in his society. He might have had some knowledge of medical treatment. On seeing that Jesus was not dead but was in unconsciousness only, he bought clean fine linen cloth instead of graveclothes which are generally used at the time of burial.

His presence of mind and scriptural knowledge are also admirable. If he were asked by any one that what was he doing and Why he brought linen cloth instead of graveclothes he might have determined to place before them the scriptural significance of the linen cloths and to hide the point of medical treatment that he was going to provide to Jesus and to hide the fact of the real features of linen in healing wounds, and to say that he did so to give special identity as a mark of respect and honour to Jesus' body by using linen cloth instead of graveclothes. Luckily no one did object him. Then he brought him to the house (tomb). All this process was accomplished before the sunset. When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus’ disciple; He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered. And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed. And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre. -Matthew 27:57-61 Let us obsere how this linen cloth has been used in different contexts in the Bible. a. As precious apparels for priests : And they shall make the ephod of gold, of blue, and of purple, of scarlet, and fine twined linen, with cunning work. -Exodus 28:6

in royal apparel of blue and white, and with a great crown of gold, and with a garment of fine linen and purple: and the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad. -Esther 8:15 d. Singers of the line of Levites : Also the Levites which were the singers, all of them of Asaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, being arrayed in white linen, having cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them an hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets. -2 Chronicles 5:12 e. In the figurative description of Jerusalem : I clothed thee also with broidered work, and shod thee with badgers’ skin, and I girded thee about with fine linen, and I covered thee with silk. -Ezekiel 16:10 Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil; and thou wast exceeding beautiful, and thou didst prosper into a kingdom. -Ezekiel 16:13 f. As a richman’s apparel : There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day. -Luke 16:191 If you analyse the above verses, in all of them linen was used. But they were used as temple curtains and as precious apparals for living people only but they were not used as graveclothes. These

linen cloths are used as antibiotics at all times. Antibiotics are only for living beings but not for dead bodies. At Midnight : Joseph might have appointed efficient doctors for treatment. These doctors might have been mistaken for angels by those ladies. According to those doctors’ suggestion Nicodemus brought 100pounds of Myrrh and Aloe. We already mentioned that, If anyone analyse them one would arrive at the conclusion that they having medicinal values, were brought for treatment purpose only but not for application on dead body of Jesus as according to traditional practice of the Jews at the burial of dead. And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight. -John 19:39 When(by what time) was Jesus supposed to have been dead? on friday at 3o clock (Matthew 27:46-50). And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid. -Luke 23:53 And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on. And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid. -Luke 23:54-55 Note :- Sabbath starts with the sunset so Jesus was kept in tomb before sunset. The garden and the tomb in the garden belong to Joseph.

As that garden and tomb belonged to Joseph, he kept Jesus in it and closed it with a large stone in the presence of the people. People who saw this thought that Jesus really died and was buried, and left the place. It might be Joseph’s guest house which looked like a tomb and might have had secret entrances through which Nicodemus entered in with 100 pounds of aloe and myrrh. He might have used it as midmight dose; and saturday’s. And ladies were asked to bring the sunday’s dose in the moring of sunday - which they have got prepared in the Friday evening (Luke 23:55-56). And they returned and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment -Luke 23:56 According to the commandment means according to the instructions of Joseph of Arimathaea but not the commandment of God, regarding the observance of Sabbath. Because : Sabbath (rest day) starts from Friday’s dusk. During night Necodems brought myrrh and aloe and rubbed to Jesus’ body. The prohibition of Sabbath which was not observed at that night how then on morning it could have been imposed on women? Jesus said many times that one needs not to follow sabbath restrictions, when the necessity comes, for the cause of human welfare. In that case, how far it is acceptable to say that the women were ordained to observe the rule of sabbath, when Jesus’ life was in danger ? (Luke 13:14-17). So they prepared all the things at friday evening and stayed upto sunday morning in compliance with the orders of Joseph of Arimathaea, (Luke 23:56 + 24:1).

May argue as a religious tradition : Here one may defend by saying- "on the third day after the burial of our dead it is our religious custom to visit the sepulchres of dead so as to sprinkle flowers and ointments over it" and accordingly the women who prepared the spices and ointments visited the tomb of Jesus, but not for the treatment as we say. As a matter of fact if anybody goes to the grave to sprinkle the ointments and flowers on the graves of the dead- it can not be a point of objection. But the ladies went to the tomb of Jesus to anoint the ointments to his body (Mark 16:1-3). In general, three days after the burial of the dead, the body decays and stinks. In the situation such as this one cannot approach it leave alone the point of anointing it with ointments and scents etc. These people know these points very well (John 11:38-39). So it can be well presumed that those women went there only on the instructions given to them. The spices and ointments which were brought by the women were herbs useful in healing of the wounds and diseased. But the women were innocent who did not know what it was being carried on. They were in dilemma of ignorance not knowing anything except as following the instructions given to them by Joseph of Arimathaea. Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: And as they were

afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee. -Luke 24:1-6

Not to sprinkle on grave but to anoint his body Sabbath begins with the sunset (dusk) of friday and lasts upto the sunrise (dawn) of sunday. Spices etc. were brought to anoint the body of Jesus but not to sprinkle on his grave. The following passage discloses this fact. And when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome had bought sweet spices that they might come and anoint him. And very early in the morning the first day of the week they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun. And they said among themselves, who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre? And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away, for it was very great. And entering into the sepulchre they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment, and they were affraighted. Mark 16:1-5

Isaiah 53:10

ACCORDING TO PROPHECY OF ISAIAH, JESUS WAS GRANTED LONG LIFE - BUT NOT ETERNAL LIFE Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him: he hath put him to grief; when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. A. Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise bim B. He hath put him to grief C. When thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed. D. He shall prolong his days and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. (A&B) The analysis of above two clauses A&B tells that Jesus was bruised and thus he was put to grief. To bruise means to cause change in colour of the skin by blows at the place where he was hit and thus to make suffer the torture only but does not mean to put to death. Yet it pleased God means Jehova pleased to put Jesus to suffer mental and physical agony only but did not make him die on cross. That is why in the last clause (D) it is said that- he shall prolong his days means he would not die on cross but would remain alive for a long period. Had he really died on cross and resurrected after three days and bodily ascended to God and sat at His right side and were to come on the day of Resurrection to raise the

dead- in such a one's case, it would not have been said "He shall prolong his days" but should have been said, "He attains eternity". But Isaiah prophesied that he would prolong his days. The difference between a "prolonged life" and an "eternal life" should be known clearly. However long term of life one may prolong, he must die one day or the other. But in case of one who attains eternal life, he will never taste of death. Therefore according to the prophecy of Isaiah he would "prolong his days" means he would not die on cross but long term of life would be given. According to prophecy, Jesus' days were prolonged but he was not made immortal (eternal). So here what Isaiah means to convey is that Jesus would remain alive though Jews tried extremely to kill him. He was to be saved and stay alive for many more days but was not to die on cross and to resurrect. Even if we agree that Jesus died on cross and resurrected after three days, it should have been said of him as he shall be victorious over his death, but not as he shall prolong his days. But it has been clearly prophesied by Isaiah that he would prolong his days to mean that Jesus would not die on cross but would be blessed with long term of life. D. In the second part of that clause (D) Isaiah said ‘the pleasure of Lord shall prosper in his hand’. This means "he had to reform the people present out side the Jerusalem too". This is the pleasure (will) of Lord. That is why Jesus said : And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. -John 10:16 The above verse means that he had to reform the jews present outside Jerusalem who scattered in other places. He had to give

his message and gospel to all of the other 10 tribes of Jews. Thus Jesus was to become a guide to convey his gospel to all of the Israelites. He stayed there for 40 days and then had gone to other places. In this way Jehova’s will was to fulfill - as said by Isaiah. Any interpretation other than this does not suit as Jesus' punishment on cross was neither appointed by God nor was it his wilful sacrifice, but purely satanic device which points have been discussed in our former pages. We observed 3 clauses of Isaiah 53:10 A, B, & D. Now let us examine C clause of the verse. Readers are requested to note that this book Isaiah 53 has been originally written in Telugu. The English translation of it is now in your hands. As a translator, it became necessary on my part to maintain the author’s original theme of tendency intact. And hence I have adopted the same method as he did in his original work: (i.e.) he took both verses from Telugu and English versions. In previous arguments also I confronted with the same problem. As they were meagre and mere words different in meaning with each other, I did not make specific mention of the point. But here, this is a problem of a complete principle clause. Telugu version gives one meaning while the English completely contradicts it. So I have taken both Telugu and English versions. The inconvenience caused to the non Telugu readers is highly regretted. But the readers who are well-versed in both the langueges can realize the skill of the Bible Society in presenting the same verse in two meanings in two languages in capricious way according to its choice; while the readers can enjoy the fun that it presents. And at the same time serious readers of the Bible of that community become rather angry on the author who has exhumed the buried facts and on the Bible society as well who is responsible to present their Holy scriptures in such defamatory attitude liable of serious critism.

When thou shalt make : Here according to context pronoun “Thou” refers to you (meaning people). So when people will make 2. his soul = (his person) Jesus 3. An offering for sin = As ransom for sin (when you peole) put Jesus on cross. 1. A body possessed of spiritual or supernatural characteristic of appearing and disappearing.

He shall see his seed = he shall see the people (do not die on cross) Now what became evident is : As according to Telugu when Jesus by himself offered his life on cross as ransom for sins of people- his seed shall see him. In brief :- When Jesus was killed on cross, his seed shall see him. According to English version : When thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed. To mean as saying : When the people put him on cross as ransom for the sin-he shall see his seed. Thus a grave contradiction between Telugu and English versions on this verse is obvious. The figurative meaning of the clause “he shall see his seed” is - ‘he shall not die on cross but will be alive’, hence he shall see his seed. Had he really died on cross how was it possible for him to see his seed? Whatever be the case- it looks very rediculous if it is agreed that he sacrified his life on cross. If one makes a deep study of our arguments one cannot miss to find Isaiah having confirmed our arguments, that he (Jesus) did not offer himself on cross throughout his prophecyhow could he have said in the last that Jesus himself offered his life on cross? In the verse under discussion under D. clause Isaiah himself disclosed that Jesus would be conferred with long life (prolonged his days) how could he have said that Jesus died on cross? 1. A body possessed of spiritual or supernatural characteristic of appearing and disappearing.

ISAIAH'S SIMILITUDE COMPARING JESUS FOR A SHEEP BEFORE HER SHEARERS - MOST APTY ATTRACTED A. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied. B. By his knowledge shall my righteous servant Justify many. C. For he shall bear their iniquities. A. For he shall see the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied. By keeping all the facts in view which have been discussed till now, we understand that Jesus thought that he could not escape death under any circumstances. In the preceding verse Isaiah has compared Jesus as a sheep before her shearers- to mean as saying just as the sheep before her shearers, thinks within herself that she is going to be slaughtered. So also Jesus would terribly afraid and thought that he would not be saved but surely be killed. Yet after she is shorn, and set at liberty she will be well satisfied. Just as in the same manner Jesus would be very happy and wellsatisfied when he is saved from his death and is survived from his injuries. This is what the prophecy of Isaiah 'He shall see the travail of his soul and shall be satisfied'. As regards to this- Isaiah has prophesied in his former chapter 51 under verse 14, as follows in clearer terms.

In other words Jesus who thought that he would die felt happy as he was saved from death by Lord.And this is the meaning of the verse “He shall see the travail of his soul and shall be satisfied". (B&C) By his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many - For he shall bear their iniquities. As Jesus was aware of the fact that many of the prophets were killed and many were tortured who were sent before him - he forgave many people who took part in punishing him, and also prayed God to forgive them. (This is the meaning of the clause ‘For he shall bear their iniquities- let us analyse.) in these clauses no figure of speach is applied. Hence only literal meaning is applicable. "For he shall bear their iniquities 1. Bear = tolerate 2. Iniquity = injustice, unfair This is to mean as saying that he [Jesus] shall tolerate (bear) their unjust acts (Iniquities) caused to him. But it does not mean that Jesus shall take (bear) all our sins (iniquities) and gets transferred to his account and sacrifice his life as ransom as is pro-

fessed by the Church. In clear terms, it means that knowing the fact that many of the prophets had passed through such excesses committed to them by the wicked people, Jesus had forgiven them and prayed God in the following words. (by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many.) Father forgive them: for they know not what they do. -Luke 23:34 Had it been really the sacrifice appointed by God, for the redemption of mankind and were it true that Jesus himself sacrificed his life as ransom- the accomplishment of this act comes under the category of pious and holy act, where the participants in carrying through this act deserve appreciation and reward of heaven. But here the prayer of Jesus about them seems as- the indignation of God to have been hovering over their heads and hence he prayed God to pardon them. The clause "for they know not what they do" underlines on Jesus' admission that his putting on cross was a sinful deed while the Church deems it fit for their redemption - a holy act.

HAD HE REALLY BEEN RESURRECTED? Isaiah 53:12 Therefore will I devide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbeved with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great : and he shall divide the spoil with the strong. The above clause does not mean that he got a portion in divinity of God as has been propagated by Church. It means that he will be among great people. This further discloses that great people such as Jesus are existing among whom Jesus is one. The remaining part of the verse 'because he hath poured out his soul unto death' we need not discuss, because had he really been dead and resurrected no one would do any harm to his supernatural resurrected body1. But he was saved on cross and resuscitated the state of which is being propagated by Church as resurrection. Variance between the attitude of Jesus, and the supposed resurrection can be noticed if one ponder over the following points.

His body was not transformed as spiritual body hence no resurrection Resurrected body does not have the weakness of the natural body. The resurrected body does not have the wounds and bruises and marks of wounds as had been present on the body (though

healed to some extent) as intact as they were before its burial. The really resurrected body must be free from the weakness of the body as it had before its burial. The following passage makes this point clear. So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption: it is raised in incorruption; It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness: it is raised in power; It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a naturel body, and there is a spiritual body. -I Corinthians 15:42-44 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut1 where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. -John 20:19-20 Things to observe : The above verse seems to suggest that he entered the room while its doors were closed with supernatural body1. But the following passage says that he showed his hands and his side so as to make them believe that it was Jesus himself. He himself tried to prove that he was Jesus who was not dead but alive. He showed wounds on his body to prove that he was Jesus himself. And resurrected body should not have any weakness or wounds.He showed his hands and wounds to make them believe that he was Jesus himself as every one thought of him as really dead. Had he really been resurrected after his death, his resurrected supernatural body must be free from the weakness of the natural body.

Observe the following passage But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord, But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, peace be unto you. Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side; and be not faithless, but believing. -John 20:24-27 One of his disciples said that he would not believe untill he saw the prints of nails on his hands. As what he would not believe? As he was alive, means he was thinking of him as really dead on the cross. But Jesus said him to live as believer and not as unbeliever after seeing the prints on hands. According to this he said to believe him as alive means not as really died on cross and showed the wounds as a proof. It goes to prove that Jesus remained in his natural body as same as it had been at the time of his burial. That is to say that Jesus was not resurrected from his death but resuscitated from his swoon.

He kept himself under disguise Had he really been resurrected no one could harm him but Jesus used to disguise himself in order to save himself from Jews. He would not come before all people. He used to make his identity

She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away. Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master. -John 20:14-16 Things to observe : A. Mary saw Jesus - But could not recognize him as Jesus. B. She thought him to be the gardener. C. when he asked “Mary why are you weeping and to whom are you searching?” She supposed him to be the gardener. Why? Because he disguised himself as a gardener.Not only he disguised his person (outer appearance) but also his voice. D. In the second time of the same event, when he called her ‘Mary’ then she could recognize him. This proves that Jesus called her in his real voice when he became sure that they were alone. This means that he used to change his real voice along with his real appearance in order to protect himself from further attack of the enemy. But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus. -John 21:4

Note : He disguised in such a way as even the disciples were unable to recognize (know) him. After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country. -Mark 16:12 Note : Another form means - he disguised in another form. Why he disguised himself means, every one thought that he died on cross. Joseph of Arimathaea brought him to his guest house and gave medical treatment. He gradually regained his health and gave the disciples the necessary instructions from time to time basing on the situations. Jesus feared that if Jews were come to know the fact that he was still alive they might again try to kill him. If he were really resurrected conquering his death then no one could kill him nor could harm. It was not necessary for him to disguise himself.Just as he disguised himself to be protected from the enemy not being betrayed and put on cross, so also even after he was saved from the death, his fear of further attack necessitated him to keep himself in disguise. He disguised and met his disciples 4 or 5 times only. He kept alone not keeping the company of his disciples, so as the matter might not be smelt by the enemy- for fear, that the situation might take an adverse course. And he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors of the 53:12 and "for he shall bear their iniquities" of 53:11 are same in meaning which has been discussed in former pages. "Because he hath poured out his soul unto the death" of 53:12.

This point also has been discused in 53:11. (from pages 54-55 may be read).
