KNDchallenge|| “ The Weekend Challenge is a great way to try small projects on weekends when you might not have filmed anything otherwise! It’s fantastic to see the same people coming back, and the progress of their videos is evident. We’ve got over 14,000 members in the Group, and it’s been steadily growing for over 4 years.”

the vimeo weekend challenge is a chance for anybody, anywhere to pick up a camera and shoot their own video. You don’t have to be a professional, simply pick up the camera and go by the challenge set by vimeo. there is a new challenge each weekend and it is a great outlet for your creativity.
|| 20/20 LOC Shoot // Edit // Create I chose an area local to myself called the Woolston Eyes. It is located along the Manchster Ship canal and is a combination of nature and industrialisation. I put down a few sketches of what i wanted to shoot, what images i wanted to capture, and just went out with an open mind of what i might come across that would fit with my 20 steps. i chose this location as i have been visiting the area since i was a child. going out there with a camera to shoot made me notice things i had never seen before, and you start to see the area in a different way. you notice the different details and characteristics the surroundings have and it turned out to be a great place to shoot my twenty steps.
CATION || the only issue i encountered with my shoot was the great british weather. the rain put shooting back a few days, but that made me appreciate the clear skies i had the day of filming, even more. if you have the right equipment, i encourage everyone to get out there and shoot in all conditions, you never know what you might capture on film. but you don’t have to be the next scorsese or speilberg and you don’t have to have the high tec equipment. just pick up a camera, point and shoot.

|| edit & p r e Shoot // Edit // Create to edit my footage i used adobe premier pro and after effects. I created a new composition for the amount of steps i had taken, so 20, 40, 80 and so on. i then laid the composition over the footage i shot on that amount of steps. I also added a magnified effect to one of the clips, liked how it looked and added it to every other clip to keep the continuity of my video. I then found the soundtrack i wanted to lay over my footage and added it into my sequence on premier pro.
e m i e r || i exported my video to H.264 ready to upload online. i then looked through my edited photos to find a thumbnail for my video when it appears on the vimeo page. The thumbnail instantly makes your video stand out amongst the others and is a great way to add to your final edit. i then uploaded my video on to my vimeo page, added my description and credits for the sound track, and added the tags to my video to make it easier to find in searches. Then that was it, my first video on vimeo.
