With great performance and availability, the GM LS (LS1, -2, -6, -7) engines are an increasingly popular choice for retro-fit street rod and muscle car applications. In stock form, these engines are decent performers but they have much more to offer. And now with the Thumpr™ GM LS Cams you can have all the efficiencies delivered by this modern engine platform with a head turning “old school” hot rod sound and serious performance to back it up. The new Thumpr™ GM LS Cams are compatible with both carbureted and re-tuned electronic fuel injection (EFI) engines and do not sacrifice anything in durability or street manners. * In EFI applications, computer tuning is required.

COMP Cams® now offers single-bolt cams (as found in many GM LS3/L92 engines) for both street and all-out race applications. With hydraulic roller offerings from both our street-friendly XFI™ and new hardcore LSR™ families, each cam is tailored for a specific rpm range and usage – from torque to maximum high rpm horsepower. Regardless of the series, these cams feature modern lobe profiles that take full advantage of the high flowing GM rectangular port cylinder heads, as well as the #26926 Ultra Dual & #26918 Beehive™ Valve Springs. XFI™ SPR Cams & Phaser Limiter Kit For GM Gen IV VVT Engines The 2007 & newer GM L92 engines utilize Variable Valve Timing (VVT) controlled via cam phasers. Cam phasers are computer controlled cam gears that automatically optimize camshaft timing based on the current engine rpm. While this technology provides tremendous efficiency benefits, it presents a challenge when designing performance cams due to the wide range of valve timing movement and constantly changing piston to valve clearance. As a result the COMP Cams® engineers have developed a Cam Phaser Limiter Kit that restricts the range of cam timing movement from 50° to 20°. This modification provides the necessary valve clearance for serious performance camshafts with tighter lobe separations – while still utilizing the benefits of the VVT technology. The resulting upper-rpm gains are some of the largest we’ve ever seen from a camshaft swap without sacrificing any bottom-end or mid-range performance. Short Travel Race Hydraulic Roller Lifters for GM engines COMP Cams® Short Travel Race Hydraulic Roller Lifters are engineered from a patent pending design that specifically performs at higher engine speeds. When engines are equipped with a hydraulic lifter, high rpm is limited by the improper position of the lifter’s internal piston as the lifter inevitably “pumps up”. This improper location results in open valves and therefore leads to lost power or sometimes even engine failure. These short travel lifters limit that internal movement to a minimum to cut down on these issues and allow more engine rpm. The lifters are REM-finished and then black oxided to create not only a high performance component but an attractive one as well.

Pro elite™ SBC 23-Degree CNC-Ported Iron Cylinder Heads Engineers at RHS™ have recently designed the only Small Block Chevy 23-degree cast iron head that is CNC-ported from the factory. The precision accuracy and durability of the RHS™ Pro Elite™ SBC 23-Degree CNC-Ported Iron Cylinder Heads are derived not only from the precision CNC-porting of the intake and exhaust runners but the CNC-ported combustion chamber, as well. The CNC-ported 228cc intake and 82cc exhaust runners optimize volume, atomization and velocity while the 69cc combustion chambers are CNC-ported to relieve valve shrouding that occurs in “as cast” chambers when the edge of a valve is in close proximity to the combustion chamber wall. By CNC-machining the combustion chamber, RHS™ was able to improve the airflow efficiency of the cylinder heads.
