The LG 2 Series is capable of handling 1200HP. The direct oiling between the crank pin and the piston pin allow this rod to run cooler and handle more horsepower. There is an additional rib in the center of the beam for added strength and of course they are factory equipped with ARP 2000 bolts. Please review all of our rods to see which style and rating meets your requirements. We have more styles and ratings than nearly all of our competitors. Mild or Wild, we probably have what you need. To date, no connecting rod has been returned for failure!

RACE I-BEAM AND H-BEAM RODS

1. Clean rods completely, clean rod bolt area and threads with a suitable cleaner and dry with compressed air to remove any foreign materials PRIOR TO DISASSEMBLY! Disassemble rods by hand; never use an air ratchet or impact on rods. Clean rods completely after disassembly, clean rod bolt area and threads with a suitable cleaner and dry with compressed air to remove any foreign materials.

2. Lubricate threads and under head clamping face with a Moly bolt lube to reduce frictional torque. Never use any other alternative lube. Tighten fastener according to the Torque chart below. Never operate rods using less or more torque than specified. 3. Never interchange rods between sets. Every rod is carefully sorted in sets by weight. Always install with the 45deg angle/champher facing the crank radius where applicable.

4. To ensure proper installation, the following clearance is offered as a general guideline, it may vary by application. 5. All ARP 8740 Cap Screws are available for upgrade to ARP 2000.

6. Rod Bearing 0.002-0.003”, Piston Pin 0.0009-0.0015:, Side 0.015-0.025”.

Materials

RPM International offers three distinct types of crankshafts—Cast, 4130/5140 Forged with Nitriding, and the SAE 4340 Forged with Nitriding, which is our top of the line.

SAE Certified 4340 forged material is used for superior strength and its proven performance in the aircraft and aerospace industries. For increased strength these cranks are given a second heat treatment after rough finishing and then nitride hardened eliminating any deformation after leaving the factory.

RPM cranks are perfect for the racer who wants a forged unit without the price of a full race crank. These crankshafts are made from SAE Certified 4130, 4142, or 5140 materials and are nitride hardened for superior strength. These cranks use the part number prefix DG5 (for example: DG5-182D). Please consult your price list or the RPM catalog for the most popular street/strip applications.

RPM cast crankshafts are designed as a better than stock nodular iron OE replacement for domestic applications. Strong castings and a large selection of stroke and rod combinations make these cranks ideal for the street/strip racer. These crankshafts use part number prefix QT for example QT-039. Please consult your price list or the RPM catalog for your application.

MAXX MAIN CAPS Both street engines and race engines undergo extreme loads during use that are not designed to be handled with stock components. Whether these extra forces are from an abnormal lean condition, detonation from oil during combustion or an intended high horsepower application, they can damage the block and can cause catastrophic results. Return and Exchange Policy Missing Parts/Incorrect Shipping

1. Reporting of missing parts must be received by RPM within seven days of receipt of order. Please provide invoice number, item number and description. RPM will send this out via the original method of shipment.

2. Items shipped that do not match the invoiced part number need to be reported within seven days and will be returned to RPM after receiving instructions from our order desk. Return freight for these items will be credited to the customer.

Exchanges

All sales from RPM are final. All exchanges are subject to our approval and will be handled on an individual basis. Your customer service representative will provide details regarding your request.

Defective Items/Shipping Damage

Items to be returned for inspection of defects require proof of purchase and notice within 30 days of invoice date. Please include a brief description of what you feel is wrong. Shipping Damage must be reported to the carrier at time of delivery.

If product has not been installed/used, it must be returned in the original packaging. Above paperwork is required.

Our technical staff reserves the right to refuse a claim based on our findings as to merit of claim. All freight and labor costs are the responsibility of the customer. Any evidence of misuse will result in rejection of claim.

Limited Warranty

RPM warrants it products to be free of defects in workmanship and materials under normal and proper use for a period of one (1) year from date of receipt of product. RPM obligation is to replace the defective part, which shall be returned to us, freight prepaid by the purchaser. Purchaser acknowledges no liability for incidental or consequential damages, including the cost of diagnosis, loss of time, inconvenience, or any other expenses.
