ClearSeal ™ is clear, shiny, and rubbery to the touch and does not need to be retorqued.
ClearSeal™ is our most commonly used coating for composite head gaskets. Other Manufacturers use gimmicky colored pigments in order to hide inferior materials and processes. ClearSeal™, a new INNOVATIVE “clear” silicone based coating, allows ROL Gaskets to show off our SUPERIOR Graphite and Kevlar™ facing materials.
ADDED BENEFITS • Utilizes a high tech UV (Ultra Violet) light curing process to ensure a smooth and CONSISTENT FINISH on every gasket. • Creates an IMMEDIATE SEAL when installed (even before start-up) and does not need to be retorqued...EVER!!! • ENHANCES LUBRICITY for head gasket bi-metal applications, allowing for uneven head and block expansion while maintaining the seal. • Will not bond to the head or block. • Also performs well for cast-iron heads and blocks.

MolySeal ™ has a “flat grey finish” and NEVER needs to be retorqued.
PROBLEM:
Head Gaskets used in bi-metal engine applications are subject to scuffing or shearing action caused by the vast differences in the thermal expansion rates of the aluminum head and cast iron block. In Extreme cases, this action can create leak paths and cause head gasket failure
SOLUTION: A coating incorporating Molybdenum Disulfide, PTFE (Teflon™) and specifically engineered binders. This coating, called MolySeal™ by ROL Gaskets, is utilized in heavy duty applications and on bi-metal engines with EXTREME uneven thermal expansion between the aluminum cylinder heads and the cast iron block. Specifically, MolySeal™ offers MAXIMUM LUBRICITY, allowing for the scuffing and shearing action, while maintaining the integrity of the gasket seal. PoziSeal™ Bead is
a high temperature silicone based beading utilized for MAXIMUM sealing around critical areas of the head and block.
BENEFITS • Increases sealing load in critical areas to insure a better seal. • Helps create a strong initial seal prior to start up. • Enhances the appearance of the gasket.
• Embeds into and densifies the facing material to stop the seepage of fluids. • Fills in small imperfections in the surface finish to aid in sealing.
Coating The technology incorporated in the manufacturing of the PERMA HOLD™ MLS (Multi Layered Steel) gaskets grows more important each day. The coating used on MLS gaskets is a Flouroelastometer Rubber based Material commonly known as Viton®. The benefits of Viton Coating: • Allows for the sealing of small imperfections in the cylinder head and block surface finishes. • Allows movement between the cylinder head or block and the gasket without compromise to the seal. • Able to withstand temperatures up to 480º F. • Allows for less than perfect surface finish in the aftermarket environment.
