The New Black Film Collective Showcasing, celebrating and supporting Black excellence in the screen industries since 2013

THE NEW BLACK FILM COLLECTIVE

About Us

The New Black Film Collective (TNBFC) exists to create and cultivate a vibrant Black ecosystem in the UK film and TV sector by championing Black-led film production, distribution, exhibition and preserving Black filmmaking and television. We do this with a range of activities and events annually, many of which have partnership opportunities attached. In all that we do we aim to expand our membership of filmmakers and exhibitors nationwide committed to Black-led stories, empower Black film professionals to reach their potential and create pathways into the sector for young Black talent.

WHAT DO WE DO?

Industry Events

TNB XPO was borne out of a need to counter systemic racism and exclusion. It is our flagship event, attracts hundreds of Black creatives to a multi-day convention in London whilst reaching a global community online.

Screenings

We host preview screenings and events in cinemas open to the public, all of which foregrounds Black-led narratives and create a place for discussion and engagement.

Skills Development

We develop and pioneer programmes for Black creatives in film and HETV to learn new skills or hone their practice as well as initiatives that unblock career pathways into the sector.

Opportunities

We partner with allies and progressive organisations to ensure opportunities for Black creatives are available, accessible and equitable.
