Here is one method they use: The seller is contacted by phone using A RELAY SERVICE designed for the hearing impaired. The scam artist offers to buy the item at the agreed upon price, and asks for the seller’s email address for further communication. A follow up email informs the seller that he/she will receive a money order by mail for an amount over the agreed selling price. The seller is instructed to deposit the payment in his/her bank and then have the bank wire transfer the excess payment to a third party in order to cover the buyer’s cost of transporting the sold item. When the seller follows these instructions, the money orders turn out to be forgeries and are worthless. In the end the bank will not honor them and the seller will lose any money they transferred to the buyer. REMEMBER: IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT PROBABLY ISN’T TRUE!
