The Confederate monument is a historic statue located at the Southwest corner of the Daviess County Courthouse, in Owensboro, Ky. The monument was placed on, September 1900, by John C. Breckinridge. Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. After several years of fund raising. Over 5,000 came to witness the dedication. There were African Americans on both sides of the Civil War in 1862. The statue has been there for over 120 years. Some people want it to be removed, because of their hatred and racism. Let’s put the statue on the ballot, and let the people of Daviess County decided the fate of the statue. This is for the soldiers that died in the Civil War. It has been 160 years since the Civil War, April 12, 1861 and will always be a part of our History, no one can change that. Symbols of American Heritage, Culture and Sovereignty. Confederate Flags are Honorable and Legitimate. Most people don’t understand what the Confederate Flag stands for. The mindful of the feelings of pain and rejections from Slave’s and Slavery was abolished from the Civil War. Understand that the Flags of the Confederacy were legitimate banners of a Nation and the struggle to preserved individual liberty. The sanctity of the law, and the Sovereignty of States as intended by our Founders in 1776 and guaranteed by our Constitution in 1787 and Bill of Rights in 1789. “Civil War” is one in which two or more armed groups seek control of a single Government.
