INFERENCE FROM SITE ANALYSIS THE NORTH AND SOUTH SIDES OF THE SIDE PROVIDE DIFFUSED LIGHT HENCE MOST WINDOWS CAN FACE THOSE SIDES INORDER TO ALLOW ADEQUATE AMOUNT OF VENTILATION. LECTURE ROOM (MEZZANINE)
WINDOWS ON THE WEST AND EAST SIDE HAVE VERTICAL SHADING SYSTEMS TO RESTRICT ENTRY OF HARSH SUNLIGHT. THE NATURE OF THE CONTOURS CAN BE USED TO MAKE AND AMPHITHEATRE. DOUBLE HEIGHT CLASSROOM
OPENINGS CAN BE LEFT IN THE BEUILDINGS ON THE NORTH EAST AND SOUTHWEST SIDES OF THE SITE IN ORDER TO ALLOW NATURAL VENTILATIONV
METHOD OF CONSTRUCTION THE USE OF MODULAR AND OTHER LIGHTWEGHT FORMS OF BUILDING CONSTRUCTION IS INCREASING.THE BENEFITS OF OFF SITE PREFABRICATION AND IMPROVED QUALITY IN MANUFACTURE ARE BEING REALISED IN VARIOUS KINDS OF BUILDINGS ESPECIALLY EDUCAIONAL SECTORS AND STUDENT RESIDENCES. MODULAR CONSTRUCTION PROVIDES A HIGH LEVEL OF ACOUSTIC SEPARATION BECAUSE EACH MODULE HAS SEPARATE FLOOR, CEILING AND WALL ELEMENTS, WHICH PREVENTS DIRECT TRANSFER OF SOUND ALONG THE MEMBERS. CLADDINGS FOR MODULAR BUILDINGS CAN BE SELF SUPPORTING VERTICALLY AND ONLY SUPPORTED LATERALLY BY THE UNITS. ALTERNATIVELY, THEY CAN BE SUPPORTED ENTIRELY BY THE MODULAR STRUCTURE
- THE MODULES ARE FIRST FIXED TO EACH OTHER WITH STEEL SECTIONS THAT ARE BOLTED TO-
FRAMEWORK OF ONE MODULE ATTACHED TO ANOTHER
GETHER.
- EACH CORNER OF EACHDN MODULE IS BOLTED DOWN TO THE STRIP FOUNDATION WITH A THROUGH A BASE PLATE.
UP
- THE CORNERS OF THIS FOUNDATION WILL HAVE COLUMNS BELOW THAT GOES DOWN THROUGH THE BASEMENT AND THEN TO THE GROUND. ( PILE FOUNDATION)

“ALL THE WORLD’S A STAGE” THIS IS A FAMOUS PHRASE BY SHAKESPEARE WHICH MEANS EVERY SPACE OR ELEMENT IN THIS WORLD IS A PLATFORM TO PERFORMED “BE WATCHED” BY SPECTATORS. THE DESIGN AND ARRANGEMENT OF THE SITE IS INSPIRED BY THIS PHRASE. EVERY POINT OF THE SITE IS A “VIEWING POINT” WHICH MEANS THERE WILL BE SOMETHING TO “WATCH” OR WITNESS AT EACH SPACE. THIS IS ACHIEVED BY PLACING DIFFERENT SPACES IN SUCH A WAY THAT THERE IS ALWAYS A VIEW TO WATCH. (EG. THE PLAZA STEPS TO THE AUDITORIUM PROVIDE A VIEW OF THE ENTIRE FILM VILLAGE)
THE AIM OF THIS PROJECT WAS TO CREATE A FILM INSTITUE INCORPORATING META AND PERFORMATIVE DESIGN STRATEGIES INTO THE PLANNING OF THE INSTITUTE THE JOURNEY FROM THE START OF THE SITE (LOWEST CONTOUR) UP UNTIL THE PLAZA WITH THE AUDITORIUMS, CREATES A VISUAL VISTA TO THE USERS . AN END POINT FROM THE MEANDERING PATHWAYS THAT CONSIST THE FILM VILLAGE
FROM THE PLAZA THE ARRANGEMENT OF SPACES A MORE LINEAR . A SINGLE PATH WITH SPACES BIFURCATING FROM IT TO A LOWER POINT. THE USERS WALKING ALONG THIS PATH WILL HAVE A FULL VIEW OF WHATS HAPPENING IN THE SPACES BELOW

THE SOLAR SHADING SYSTEM CONSISTS OF TRIANGULAR SHUTTERS OF PERFORATED STEEL. THEY ARE MOUNTED ON THE FAÇADE IN A WAY WHICH ALLOWS THEM TO ADJUST TO THE CHANGING DAYLIGHT AND DESIRED INFLOW OF LIGHT. WHEN THE SHUTTERS ARE CLOSED, THEY LIE FLAT ALONG THE FAÇADE, WHILE THEY PROTRUDE FROM THE FAÇADE WHEN HALF-OPEN OR ENTIRELY OPEN AND PROVIDE THE BUILDING WITH A VERY EXPRESSIVE APPEARANCE. THE SOLAR SHADING SYSTEM IS FITTED WITH SENSORS WHICH CONTINUOUSLY MEASURE LIGHT AND HEAT LEVELS AND REGULATE THE SHUTTERS MECHANICALLY BY MEANS OF A SMALL MOTOR.

THE PROPOSED PROJECT IS LOCATED IN MG ROAD BOULEVARD AIMS TO CONVERT A
EXISTING
30M STRETCH IN TO A SPACE THAT ATTRACTS THE TOURISTS OF BANGALORE
THE INDOOR SPACE WAS CONVERTED INTO A LIBRARY & CAFE FOR THE PEOPLE USING THE METRO STATION OR AS A REST STOP FOR THE ONES WALKING ALONG MG ROAD
THE CONCEPT WS DERIVED FROM THE FAMOUS OTHER NAME FOR BANGALORE ‘GARDEN CITY’ . THE SHAPE OF THE ROOF AND LAYOUT OF THE PLAN IS DERIVED FROM THE CHARACTERISTICS OF A LEAF. THE VEGETATION ALONG THE STRETCH INCLUDE SOME OF THE WELL KNOWN TYPE OF PLANTS AND TREES FOUND AROUND BANGALORE. SEATING ALONG THE RAILING THAT PROVIDES A FULL VIEW OF MG ROAD KIOSK FOR THE CAFE Y BRANCH COLUMNS
KOI FISH POND SEMI PERMEABLE PAVING THAT ACTS AS STORMWATER RUN OFF EXTRA BUFFER ADDED BETWEEN THE ROAD AND THE BOULEVARD
