Meet the Chef JIM ABBS Jim Abbs is a Red Seal Chef, who has enjoyed the restaurant business since he was 15 years old. First apprenticing under Swiss Chef Werner Buehler, Jim joined The Keg in 2008 and has had the distinct pleasure of being part of the busiest Keg Steakhouse & Bar in the history of the franchise. CELIMAR ALVES Born and raised in Brazil, Grill Master Celimar Alves brings true Brazilian flair to the art of grilling meat, having received his training at Montana Grill in San Paulo, Brazil. He has been with Brasa since its opening, and has worked as Grill Master since 2014. Celimar is proud to call Canada his home and is very happy to call himself a Canadian citizen. JONATHAN ASKLAND Jonathan is a local to Niagara Falls. He got an early start in the food industry working at his uncle’s butcher shop and meatpacking plant. He was fortunate, as a young dishwasher at John Michael’s, when Chef Carl Leidere, offered him a cooking apprenticeship. Jonathan is a graduate of Niagara College’s Hospitality Management program, and is the Sous Chef at Brasa.
