DECOR:

Decor is a huge factor when it comes to creating your dream wedding. From centerpieces to linens, dance floor marquees to ice sculptures, you put a lot of thought into what your guests will look at. But with all of these elements right under our nose, what’s going over your head? Enhance the beauty of your wedding and wow your guests by adding some ceiling fixtures to your reception space. Detailed chandeliers, dreamy green garland, bohemian or antique lanterns, and gorgeous flower arrangements are the perfect addition to create that bold impression you’re looking for. There are a few aspects of your wedding that you should consider before deciding what to hang at your reception venue.

Style and venue’s style is extremely important. If you’re

embracing the new industrial trend, consider suspending bare Edison light bulbs from the ceiling or creating a custom light sculpture made from steel or iron. For a more bohemian outdoor wedding, hang dream catchers off of tree limbs. Is dreamy and whimsical your wedding theme? Drape fabric to create a more intimate and ethereal space. Looking to glam up a tent wedding? Add some color with a flower garland or emphasize the height of the peak with a chic chandelier. Pinterest, bridal magazines, and real weddings can be great assets while brainstorming ideas, but be sure to keep your style in mind while you’re looking. You may love a certain design you find in a magazine or online, but if it doesn’t coordinate with the rest of your decor or fit in with the reception venue, then it’s not beneficial to you. Consult with a decor stylist, your wedding planner, and a rental company to see which designs will complement your style – and the style of your venue – best.

Budget 1

Your budget is another huge factor in choosing your hanging decor. Installing support systems – like beams or a pulley – can drive up the cost of your rental. We highly recommend adding flowers or greenery to your design piece for added color and texture, but keep in mind that it will increase your overall flower budget. Some venues may already have features in place that you can decoLOVEBOOK BY TODAY’S BRIDE

rate to complement your wedding style, so take advantage of that! If you’re celebrating in a barn that has gorgeous rustic beams, draw attention up by stringing twinkly lights across them. This is a budget-friendly way to enhance your venue’s beauty and add a fun hanging feature.

most important aspect in choosing your aerial decor. Is your venue indoors or outside? If you’re having a tent wedding, how many tents and how big will the tents be? With indoor receptions, some venues may have restrictions against hanging your own chandeliers or lighting. Tent weddings are most common for couples who want to hang

decor. If you’re planning on hanging several chandeliers or heavier items from the ceiling of the tent, be sure to ask about weight restrictions, available support systems, and insurance. If you’re relying on the decor to provide light, you’ll need to make sure that the venue has outdoor electricity. Ask your rental company if they’ve dealt with hanging features like this before and if they’ll be responsible for installing them. Hanging decor is a huge trend right now, ranging from flowers and greenery to steel sculptures and whimsical dream catchers. Find a design that reflects the style of your wedding and customize it to fit your space and budget to create a jaw-dropping decor element your guests won’t soon forget. ❤

The best view for your "I Do"

While traditional, religious weddings are a beautiful way to celebrate your love and bind your souls for eternity, not all weddings today are held in a place of worship. If you’re having your ceremony in a non-traditional setting – like a museum, rooftop, or garden – get creative with your seating with some of these ideas! Seating Layouts Having a religious wedding is very meaningful to some couples, and there are a lot of ways to decorate the aisle, pews, and altar to make your ceremony special. However, if you are having your wedding outside of a place of worship, altering the seating layout can be one way to make a lasting impression on your guests. Consider making a circle surrounding the ceremony spot so the guests can see the bride and groom from all sides. The downfall of this set up is that the bride can only enter from one direction, and some guests on the opposite side may be disappointed at not having a clear view of the bride’s entrance.

Another alternative layout is the spiral. This arrangement can be a bit concerning to the bride, as she has to focus on where she’s walking rather than gazing at her beloved at the end of the aisle, but it has a lot of benefits for the guests. Not only will everyone have a great view of the bride as she makes her way around the circle and into the middle where the groom and officiant are standing, but they will also have a 360 degree view of the ceremony.

Seating Options Whether you decide to go with the traditional layout or mix things up, we definitely suggest exploring different seating options than the typical folding chair. You can keep things elegant by renting vintage

upholstered chairs or go fun and funky with bean bags or floor pillows! Shopping for fun seating options can be a great way to relieve some of the stress of wedding planning while still tackling that to-do list. You can stop by auctions to find cool mismatched chairs or old church pews, or you could make your own benches with barrels and planks of wood! Whatever you do to spice things up, make sure it reflects you and the style you want for your ceremony.

Though the wedding day is all about you, think of your guests when you’re choosing your ceremony seats. It may not seem like an important part of your wedding planning, but if you want your guests to enjoy your ceremony, their comfort is a huge factor. Choosing a different layout or a fun conglomeration of seating can make your wedding unique and memorable. ❤ Photo Credits: 1. Kate Whelan Events & Theilan Photography 2. Steve Steinhardt 3. ith the right inspiration and the help of talented wedding professionals, any wedding can become a destination wedding! This French-inspired styled shoot incorporates the romance and character of southern France by pairing old-world charm with modern day glam. The simplicity of the reception tables is accentuated by the ornate chandeliers, and the vintage-feel of the lounge area is mirrored by the rustic charm of the dessert display. And can we just admire these florals for a minute? From the table runner to the suspended centerpiece to the bundles of tulips and lavender, you can almost smell the fresh aroma of these glorious arrangements! Their vibrant colors enhance the on-trend ivory gowns of both the bride and bridesmaid while perfectly complementing the groom’s ever-popular navy suit. Whether you adore the simple decor, the extravagant chandeliers, the vintage furniture, or the plentiful florals, we hope this styled shoot transports you to the French coast and inspires you with its romance and charm.

All eyes are on the bride as she makes her entrance, but what about the newlyweds’ exit? Whether it’s leaving the ceremony site or departing from your reception, you’ll want a send-off to remember. Here are some of our favorite ways to make your grand getaway. Spring Bubble exits were made for spring weddings. Watching them float around you in the warm spring breeze is a playful and fun way to appreciate your new beginning. Plus, they make for a great photo!

1

Summer To celebrate the long days and gorgeous sunsets of summer, your grand exit should light up the night. What better way to do it than with sparklers? Another fun summer option is to give each guest a glow stick. Hand them out during the reception so guests can adorn their outfits as they dance the night away! 2

As it turns out, there is some good in Good-Bye!

Fall Who doesn’t think of bonfires and s’mores when they think of fall? Though we hate the idea of wasting such a delicious treat, tossing marshmallows will make for a unique send-off. You might even catch one to eat!

3

Winter If you’re planning a winter wedding, odds are you’re hoping for a snowy backdrop, but we suggest having a back-up plan. Buying artificial snow or fleece snowballs will be just as fun, and you could even have a mess-free snowball fight! Whether you’re departing from the ceremony site or leaving your reception, you’ll want to make this send-off a moment to remember. Use these ideas as inspiration to add a personal and modern touch to this fun wedding tradition. ❤ Photo Credits: 1. Glasser Images 2. Giuli E Giordi 3. Lauren Wright Photography 4. Oana Foto
