About a million ringgit is needed by the Catholic Church to run charitable projects in the Archdiocese of Kuching every year. Aside from helping with food aid, the Catholic Church in Kuching also has a home for elderly folks who do not have anyone to care for them. The home, named Home of Peace, is located at Jalan Landeh, Kota Padawan. The St Vincent De Paul
Society Kuching also gives funds to help poor students with school items and school bus fare and tuition. The Catholic Services Centre is run by Catholic Welfare Services Kuching (CWS). It is in line with Archbishop Emeritus John Ha’s vision. When he was the Archbishop of Kuching he had given CWS three years to develop the venue into a onestop centre for welfare and charity outreach. CWS welcomes donation in cash and kind. For information, please contact CWS office at 082-241407 or Felix at 0168544090. — Stephen Then
