Secrets Of Pay-Per-Click

In the world of web advertising none has generated more consumer response than by payper-click (PPC) advertising. The advantage of PPC advertising is its inherent flexibility. Traffic arrives instantly from actual users and performance is measured in real time. Currently, Google and Yahoo! are two giants that dominate the field. Google Adwords is a pay-per-click advertising engine that makes use of its largely popular search engine to encourage browsers to access client websites for a minimal fee. It currently has the largest distribution network compared to Yahoo! and the prices are relatively competitive with results. For the advertiser considering this form of marketing, using pay-per-click strategies can be a daunting task. But the advertiser just needs to keep in mind a few pointers before plunging headlong into the fray.

1. Create ads with a high click-through rate. Click-through rate is the measure of relevancy in Google Adwords. The more people who enter your site means in theory that more people find your site's content relevant to their search. 2. Choose your keywords carefully. Keywords are the links to which browsers will be able to find your site. Bids are often placed for the most-used keywords and oftentimes the prices for these words escalate to unbelievable proportions. It would actually be better to take some time to step into the head of your target market and get a feel of what words they would put in the search engine to solve their problems. For example, for people trying to buy motor oil online they would usually enter 'motor oil" into the search. A more creative bidder can use other keywords that are also relevant to the subject, which the browser is most likely to enter as well like, "lube change", "overhaul", or 'tune up". The possibilities can be endless with a little imagination and role-playing. If you fine-tune the key phrases, your click-through rate will increase along with the relevancy of your site to the consumer. Being first in using a new keyword will also give the browser an impression that the bidder is the only solution to this problem.

3. List your site wisely. Google Adwords bidders have three ways of listing on its search engine. Broad match – eat cheese – will run a search string with all words that have Google 1 Google 2 in it in any order. This will also display the results that have relative connection to the search like ate cheddar, eating cheese, cheese eating, etc. Phrase Match - "eat cheese" – will run a search string that will display the results that match the exact phrase "eat cheese" in that one order only. It will return links that contain such phrases in sentences, lyrics, songs, etc. Exact Match – [eat cheese] – is a more precise search will return a search string with only eat cheese in it and nothing else. Furthermore, you can opt to exclude your site from searches made for keyword listing with a negative perception such as free, porn, cracks, hacks, etc. just add a "-" at the start of the word (-free).

4. Syndicate. Google Adwords is a syndication so advertisers can choose to appear only in Google, its affiliates, or even other contextual engines. Depending on the company's marketing strategy, you can also decide on which countries and languages to appear in.

5. Bid well. It is well advised that from the start it is wise to overbid slightly to get a more realistic exposure from the start. Because of good exposure, you can get a better feel on whether your click-through rate and keywords matches your market.

6. Geotargeting. Geotargeting is a Google service that lets you appear on search results for browsers of a desired geographical location. Places as big as regions to as small as cities can be targeted. Options are also available as to a specific radius of an area chosen.

7. Affiliates. In Google Adwords only one affiliate or seller ad can actually appear on a single landing page for every keyword. However, if affiliates can create a review for their site with significantly unique and relevant information, then the site can appear in the same page along with the seller ad.

8. Old fashioned hard work. Of course, nothing will ever get off the ground without creativity, hard work, luck, and spending a few more dollars on professional help.

Google Adwords must be taken as a tool in a box for a company. This way, the company can manage to maximize all the markets it can reach on and off the web.

Google PPC: Content Or Search? When advertising with pay per click Google gives the advertiser two broad options. Advertising in search results, advertising in websites content or indeed many choose to do both. Advertising in search means that results are displayed in Google under searches, and in its distributors search results. Google content advertising applies to those websites who choose to incorporate "Adsense" into their websites. As AdSense rapidly expands, it is now viewable on millions of web pages throughout the web. However, many advertisers are shunning this in favor of merely advertising in search results. There are several reasons for this, and the first is trust. This has been a result of smaller websites, through to AdSense empires choosing to embark on Click Fraud. Although this issue occurs in search it is far less dominant. Those who commit Click Fraud on search are those trying to weaken a competitor's ROI. With AdSense the same applies, along with the website owner trying to increase his revenues using similar tactics. Another reason why website owners are choosing to market out with content is the motivation of the buyer when he is on a website. Someone who is on a different website, other than the advertisers might be there for entirely different reasons. For example a website discussing the disadvantages of AdSense, would actually return adverts for those selling "AdSense Websites" for example. People may click on it, but they are unlikely to buy after reading a negative review. The other reason could be that the person on the AdSense website was actually looking for what is the best color palette to use. The person therefore would not find the advert relevant, but might click on the advert in a carefree manner. AdSense websites are also often rejected by the advertiser because they feel it involves more administration. Checking through websites to see how relevant they are, and editing their bids to ensure they still appear on a page. With some words having a network of over 500 websites, it is surely a tedious and expensive task. Although this is the case, many also find that their Adwords account returns websites, that don't even appear to be trying to support their keywords. The example which is ripe, are those advertising under legal phrases who appear on AdSense websites 'terms and conditions" and "privacy policy" pages.

Although many are rejecting content advertising, there are still those who feel it provides a similar ROI to search. A reason for this can be found through in the fact that more and more advertisers are only choosing search. As this occurs the advertiser has less competition so the price of the word reduces. Advertisers are also finding a good ROI from publisher's websites who decide to actively promote the advertiser's services within their content. An example of this can be realized from when someone is discussing printing services, and actually directly recommends the advertiser's services. This is a positive move for both the publisher and the advertiser, and a good way for publishers to move forward. Despite this, publishers still have to remember, to not be too obvious in doing this, or savvy buyers will definitely calculate the publisher's intention. Another reason why advertisers are opting for content is to increase their scale, however this can also be done across other search engines. The fact however still exists that those who choose content advertising should choose the Google AdSense network. It is regulated far and above Yahoo's and others equivalents whilst its superior network of publishers means the advertisers will benefit from being able to spread their message through a diverse range of websites. Despite AdSense being the best PPC content distributor, it certainly doesn't compare to search for the advertiser. On search the leads are more qualified, more regulated, and less fraudulent. This has seen advertisers consistently choose search over content. Despite this advertiser's should always test AdSense and see if it can provide the ROI they are looking for. Some advertisers say that content provides a better return for their business than search. This varies, however in general search remains King for PPC advertisers. How To Advertise With Google Adwords

Adwords is Google's 'text-based" approach for advertising. This is a service wherein it permits you to make your own advertisements, select your choice of keywords to correspond to your ads and manage or establish your advertising cost thru what is called the "cost per click " scheme, wherein you only pay on certain times that customers click on your advertisement. Anyone can promote their website on Google Adwords. The concept of Google Adwords is very simple; you make advertisements that Google then will display alongside standard search results. When an individual searches for certain keywords that you have submitted to Google Adwords you like to be linked with, then your ads come into view. For instance, when you are selling Mickey Mouse bags, you can request your ad to be displayed alongside Google search results when individuals searches for Mickey Mouse or bags or children's school supplies. Google Adwords is very similar to traditional advertising, wherein you can make your own ad for your website. The main difference is that each time Google displays or shows your add, you do not pay them; you only pay when an individual clicks your advertisement.
