TODD HOLST INDUSTRIAL DESIGNE R 2018
October 27, 2016
To whom it may concern; Great Big Events (GBE) was appointed as the delivery partner for a creative concept for a major event based on the Gold Coast during 2018. After a rigorous selection process, Todd was one of five students selected to work with our industry experts. He engaged from the initial ideas, research and drawings to the execution of technical specifications and prototypes in preparation for the production and delivery of the final product. From an initial open design brief, through to the final renders, Todd was an enthusiastic and dedicated member of the design collaboration team. He proved adaptable, capable of learning new tasks, and adept at communicating with fellow designers and industry professionals. In summary, Todd was an excellent ambassador for the project and an asset to our team. We wish him every success in their design journey in the coming years.
Yours sincerely,
Greg Bowman Managing and Creative Director Great Big Events

Prsona MAJOR STUDIO PROJECT - 2017 PERSONALISED SPACE MINIMISATION FURNITURE
The objective of this project was to design space minimisable concept furniture that could incorporate personalisation. The aim was to provide a multipurpose piece that would be functional as well as decorative and inject a new standard of design into the furniture market
The design allows the user to choose their own personal image that will be printed on the artwork.
The wall art simply unclips and folds out to either a dining table or a shelf. Thus being discreet and effective in storage
Example of the APP Layout that would be used for clients to choose and design their furniture.

The design adapts to all housing styles by incorporating clear Poly carbonate Plastic as this matches majority owners style preferences. The table or shelf uses the support legs as the artwork, therefore the artwork is not the focus when seated at the table or using the shelving. The table and shelf is mounted on the wall by a fixed bracket that is included in the purchase. The table hinges are laser cut laminated timber to reduce costing and to allow a W shaped leg support.

Body Analysis HUMAN MACHINE INTERFACE - 2016 MOVEMENT ANALYSIS CLOTHING TO PREVENT SPORTS INJURY
The objective of this design was to create a sports clothing line that incorporated electronics to allow the user to analyse there movement. The specified movements this clothing line was targeted at were, the three main Olympic lifts: • Bench Press • Squat • Dead Lift
The clothing ensures that the movements: posture, forces and direction are analysed and can be improved upon.
A range of temperature, pressure, distance, motion and movement sensors are incorporated into the clothing to compare the results.

The multiple clothing accessories can be purchased separately to allow for variable budgets. The black circles on the clothing represent the locations of the sensors. The sensors will be air tight to allow for simple washing. The feedback on the application will vary from general to specific requirements to improve on the movements.

PI - CUBE DESIGN PROJECT - 2017 PHYSICALLY INTUITIVE CHAIR
The objective of this project was to incorporate materials that reflect human interaction, into modern furniture styles. The purpose of this was to change the current standards of what furniture can be constructed with and visually appear as.
The final design moulds to the user as they interact with it through a PinPression exterior. Heat sensitive material reflects the users body heat as this material is wrapped around the pin art. A interior spring system resets the pins after interaction has ceased. The heat sensitive material then resets to the surrounding room temperature. The final design is shaped as a symetrical square as this fits majority of current interior design styles.

Modelling and Manufacturing Details
The final design attracts the attention of users with the Pin pression exterior while matching majority of current furniture, as black is incorporated into majority of current interior design styles. This design allows the owner to stand out in the continuously evolving furniture design trends by incorporating unusual construction materials.
LAZY PANDA ENTREPRENEUR PROJECT - 2017 LAZY PANDA CAMPING CHAIR INNOVATIVE ECO DESIGN
The objective of this design was to create a KickStarter Project was accurately priced , ready to be manufacture at large scale and marketed for successful launch to industry. My chosen design was targeted at introducing an environmentally friendly group camping chair that can be adjusted to the users needs.
The design replaces standard camping chair materials such as Nylon, Aluminium and foam, with Bamboo, Hemp and PLA thus greatly reducing the environmental affects.
The chairs can be attached together for a closer seating area with an additional seat or table that can be added in between for unexpected guests The sentimental intention of the design was to evoke the bonding that camping aims at while solving standard issues within the camping chair market.

The chair simply folds up in a hemp bag for transport with a simple disassembly. The bamboo satisfies strengths requirements and can be thickened for larger occupants The options for the amount of users seated is unlimited and added creates an extra desire for other to purchase the design.
