Welcome What an amazing season of performances and events we have in store for you. This is already our most successful season since the Tolbooth opened, with James selling out in 15 minutes, Jimeoin selling out months ago and, as we go to print, only a handful of tickets left for both Paul Brady and the master performance poet John Cooper Clarke. As if that wasn't enough our line up also includes an acoustic evening from Ricky Ross, and the return of The Twilight Sad, Rachel Sermanni, James Grant and Roddy Woomble.

And don't miss our voyage, Louisiana style, down the bayou with the Grammy nominated Cedric Watson and his Bijou Creole! This season marks the closure of The Changing Room, Stirling's only contemporary art gallery. From its original site in the Stirling Arcade to its more recent base in the Tolbooth, the gallery has been a champion of contemporary art for the last 15 years and has been the catalyst for much creativity.

JAMES

UT O D SOL

Fri 12 Apr, 8pm £27.50 / STANDING ONLY We are delighted that James will kick start their Gathering Sound arena tour, right here at the Tolbooth. The Manchester band, who just celebrated their 30th anniversary, have sold more than 20 million albums world wide and will be performing songs from their extensive back catalogue and possibly some new material too.

This exclusive gig for 200 people is the night before they play the SECC in Glasgow and then head on their stadium tour of the UK finishing with two gigs at the V Festival. It’s not often you get the chance to see such a massive band in an intimate venue; definitely a night not to be missed. wearejames.com

International superstars James have been on the music scene since 1982. Best known for their success in the 1990s with singles such as 'Sit Down', 'Laid' and ‘She’s a Star’. After splitting in 2001 they have since reformed, released a new album and embarked on a tour.

MAIREARAD GREEN & ANNA MASSIE Fri 19 Apr, 8pm / £12/£10

Another night of House, Techno and a little more House and Techno for good measure. Our pre club night Control returns with the best in local DJ's spinning their favourite tunes right in the heart of Stirling's old town and no doubt keeping you dancing all night.

Multi-instrumentalists and award winners, Mairearad Green (accordion and smallpipes) and Anna Massie (guitar, banjo, fiddle) are a captivating duo, providing a highly energetic performance with a warm and friendly stage presence.

The night runs from 8pm to 12am making it the perfect stop off for those with discerning music taste before heading off to the club of your choice.

Having both grown up in the Scottish Highlands with similar musical backgrounds (most notably, mandolin playing Dads!) Mairearad and Anna share an innate understanding of Scottish culture and music. Having played together for ten years, on stage they have an instinctive rapport and a seemingly telepathic communication.

JAMES GRANT

JIMEOIN: WHAT?!

James Grant always wanted to be Jimmy Page but as he grew up it was his velvet vocal chords that shaped his destiny and secured his standing as one the great singer/ songwriters of recent decades.

The Changing Room 1997 - 2013 The Changing Room closed its doors on Saturday 30 March 2013 for the very last time. Since its opening in 1997 it quickly established a reputation for bringing the best in contemporary art to the area, to the only contemporary art gallery in Forth Valley.

24

It not only brought emerging and established artistic talent of international standing to Stirling but also provided a crucial forum for vocational training and peer support for locally-based artists and young people to explore, develop and challenge their ideas and experience of art. A lot of the success of the gallery was the result of the

Officer, Kirsteen Macdonald. A huge thanks must go to her. Equally, none of the gallery's achievements would have been possible without the dedication and commitment of a host of talented volunteers. We would like to take this chance to thank them and you, our audience, for your support over the years.

Finally, it has been an honour for me to work with so many exceptional people and to be part of the wider UK network that nurtures the real talent we have in Scotland.
