Music and Me

YOUTH MUSIC TAKEOVER

We are very excited to have musician and composer David Trouton piloting his music resource 'Music and Me' in 6 Stirling nurseries. Music and Me was developed in East Lothian with support of the Youth Music Initiative, which is funding the pilot in Stirling. The resource enables early years educators to support children to experience a range of activities that includes: singing; exploring different sounds; playing instruments in groups; creating sound stories and listening to short music excerpts that express contrasting emotions. It also supports the development of many useful life skills such as listening, following instructions, turn-taking, active learning, collaboration and co-operation. www.engagewithmusic.com

Takeover, Stirling's music event for young people aged 12 - 18 takes place in The Albert Halls on 1 November. Local bands and singer-songwriters will be performing. Details on facebook.com/stirlingtakeoverfestival

LATEST RECORDINGS With Youth Music Initiative funding young local bands and artists continue to record in the Tolbooth studio. Owen Sutcliffe, The Old Pretender, The Streams and Annie Booth all recorded this summer. Our studio is available for hire throughout the year, give Carolyn a call to find out more.
