The life of iconic Osmania University student leader, George Reddy, who was stabbed to death in broad daylight on the university campus in 1972, is going to be retold on silver screen. Sandy is on the board to essay George Reddy. Jeevan Reddy who made his debut with a naxal drama ‘Dalam’ in 2013, will helm this upcoming biopic,
which will cover all student movements in OU from 1962 to 1972 and will be made in both Telugu and Hindi. The pre production work has been already started. According to the makers, the film will showcase George Reddy not just as an individual but as a way of life. Despite coming from an upper caste George fought for the rights of the weaker sections and gender oppression and that is what made him an icon and an inspiration for many political leaders. The sources say that two star heroes have agreed to make guest appearances as well.

The Issue is Drugs Mafia which is now shaking Telugu Film Industry that some Industry people are involved in this.The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Prohibition and Excise Department on Saturday have taken two drug peddlers – Zeeshan Ali and Noah William into custody after taking permission from the court and thoroughly questioned them. After them, a couple of other drug peddlers from the Old City are also booked. Sources said Zeeshan has disclosed interesting information related to Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja. Zeeshan confessed that he had procured drugs from South Africa and supplied to Ravi Teja and others. Though the nature of those drugs is not revealed but the media report says that these drugs are distributed to others by Ravi Teja at parties.

elugu actor Tarun appeared before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Hyderabad drug racket on 22nd July Saturday at 10 am and came out of the premises at 11:40 pm. Tarun, famous for Nuvve Kavali (2000), had opened a pub in 2009 in Banjara Hills area of Hyderabad. As the role of pubs in drug peddling came under scanner in the past, he had sold his stakes. Tarun, was asked about beach house in Goa ,15 days stay in the holiday destination every month, his role in pub business, and contacts with Calvin. During the interrogation, SIT officials showed a video to Tarun in which he was seen dancing with Calvin and Zeesan. After watching the video, Tarun said, these Drug Peddlers had worked as Event Managers for few private parties he had organized. Tarun’s blood sample, along with samples of his nails and hair, have been collected for a forensic test, to find out if the actor had been consuming drugs. Meanwhile, Excise officials held a meeting with various representatives of pubs and bars in connection with drug abuse, and suspended the license of F-Club in Film Nagar, and issued a warning to 14 other bars and clubs in the city, as some of them had become hubs to consume and sell drugs.

xcise Special Investigation Team (SIT) is learning new truths as it is probing deeper in to the drug scandal, involving top film personalities. They revealed that Puri Jagannadh spoke directly to Celvin on international SIM, from Bangkok. Also, both chatted for long hours, it is learnt. Meanwhile, Shyam K.Naidu told the SIT officials about Puri and Charmme taking drugs. He revealed, that he received packets through courier in Puri's name, which he gave directly to Puri Jagannadh, without seeing what was inside. Also, actor Subbaraju gave more information
about this drug case and revealed few names. SIT thinks that Puri might have used these people for his own purpose, even without their knowledge. Meanwhile a news channel revealed evidences between Puri Jagannadh and Calvin’s contact and it has come out that Puri used International Sim to contact the drug dealers for buying drugs. Reports say, Puri used Bangkok sim for purchasing drugs. The call-record of these numbers and the collected SIMs matched with that of the selfies available on Calvin's phone. Those selfies have celebrities like Puri and Charmee, the report says.

ontroversial film maker Ram Gopal Varma raised his voice in support of the Tollywood industry, which under the police scrutiny in the sensational drug racket. He spoke against long interrogation that Puri Jagannadh and actor Subbaraju faced. He has accused the Prohibition and Excise Department of Telangana of targeting Tollywood celebrities in a drug racket case. He asked "Is there a deep rooted conspiracy to target only the film industry?" RGV further asked if the investigators would also summon students who are using drugs and subject them to such long interrogations. He said people doesn't know about excise department and thus the department is trying to establish it's existence through drug mafia case. He said drugs are not new in Hyderabad. The media is projecting Prohibition and Excise (P&E) Director Akun Sabarwal as Amarendra Bahubali and for which SS Rajamouli may has to make Bahubali 3. He added Akun Sabarwal is questioning Tollywood stars but are they going to question students in the same way for 12, 13 hours, while expressing doubt.

xcise Enforcement Director Akun Sabharwal, who is handling the investigation of Drug Racket Case, has been receiving threat calls from international drugs mafia for the last 10 days. The callers, who are speaking in African English, have been threatening the Excise Director no to go ahead with the probe in the drugs case. It is heard that Mr. Sabharwal has received three threatening calls on VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol). They warned the IPS officer of harming the

family members. They told Akun Sabharwal that they were aware of where his children had been studying. Akun brought to the notice of the Intelligence officials about threat calls. The Intelligence staff found that the calls were made using Voice over Internet Protocol and did not succeed in locating from which country the calls are made. The senior IPS official had been busy interrogating the film personalities who allegedly involved in the drug racket in Hyderabad.

With prominent names coming out in the open, society and fans are having a serious rethink as to who they have been worshipping as role models. Against this backdrop, senior actor Bhanuchander has shocked everyone by confessing that he was drug addict in the early 1970s and it was upon his brother’s insistence he gave up the addiction. Bhanuchander said, "I was then part of a rock band in Mumbai. I got introduced to

drugs through friends. It was also stress that led me to taking drugs.” Later he added, “I was saved by my elder brother who promptly weaned me away from the habit by introducing me to martial art. I loved practicing it and it also helped wean him away from his addiction. A few years later, I made my foray in the world of cinema." When he was asked about his views on the drug scandal rocking Tollywood, Bhanu Chander however said that it was not right time to judge the entire industry at this point.

DRUG CASE: SUBBARAJU REVEALS SECRET P
opular baddie in several hit films, Subba Raju, was on 14th July Friday questioned for over 11 hours by personnel of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the drug case. The official sources said that he answered only ‘yes’ or ‘no’ and avoided many questions. Subbaraju allegedly did not co-operate with the SIT until after the lunch break and he was try to avoid the questions and hiding the facts. He even refused to lunch initially but had later. When the SIT asked about drug consumption and parties organized by director Puri, Subbaraju replied he was not a drug addict and he did not know about them. When the officials showed him a photograph taken in Bangkok by prime accused in drug cases Calvin, Subbaraju replied that it was taken in Bangkok but he did not consume any drug at that time or at any other time. Later Subbaraju confessed that more than 10-15 members from Tollywood are consuming the drugs and even revealed that a hero from an influential family that’s in the Tollywood for several decades. The SIT officials declared that they won’t spare any one and said they would issue to notices to the suspect in the next few days. His blood, nail and hair samples were collected by the doctors for further investigation. Excise Enforcement Director Akun Sabharwal told media that Subbaraju co-operated with the SIT and he has given useful information.

n 20th July, Cinematographer Shyam K Naidu reached Excise Office in Nampally, Hyderabad along with his advocate. He was interrogated in the infamous Hyderabad drugs bust case. Naidu presented himself before the Special Investigation Team sharp at 10 am. He is one of the closest associates of the director Puri Jagannadh. Shyam K Naidu was grilled by Special Investigation Team for around five-and-a-half hours. Investigative Sleuths enquired with Naidu about his links with Drug Racket kingpin Calvin Mascarenhas. Do you take drugs? How did you come in touch with Calvin? How many times do you take drugs in a month? Life Style Habits and Relationship with Puri Jagannadh have been enquired. Shyam K Naidu replied, he is familiar with Calvin Mascarenhas but limited to films. They have shot several pubs scenes in the films and that when event managers and Calvin were introduced to him. It was a professional relationship and doesn’t know much about his personal activities. Excise Commissioner Chandravadan said, Shyam K Naidu has cooperated with investigation team during the interrogation.

fter wrapping up the shoot in Rajahmundry and West Godavari, ‘ Rangasthalam 1985’ team is now back in Hyderabad for another schedule. The team has set up a very costly set of rural Konaseema village in Hyderabad to shoot an elaborate schedule of the film which will mark the completion of most of the film’s talkie part. The sources say, “A lavish 80s-era settlement is being constructed by the team at Bhooth Bungalow, Jubilee Hills. The scenes
involving the lead pair Ram Charan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and other members of the principal cast, will be shot from 24th July onwards for 35 days". The film is being helmed by Sukumar, produced by Mythri Movie Makers and it has the music by Devi Sri Prasad. Apart from lead pair, the film has Aadhi Pinisetty and Poojitha Ponnada in crucial role. Rangasthalam is a revenge-drama with brother sentiment and will have Ram Charan playing a youth who cannot hear.

ew days ago, the Hyderabad Traffic Police Department announced that it’s going to launch a massive campaign to create awareness about traffic rules and driving vehicles among the people. Baahubali film maker SS Rajamouli and Stylish star Allu Arjun were invited as the chief guests for this traffic awareness program. On this occasion, Allu Arjun took the mile and said, “I wants to convey 3 things, one has to believe that "I am the change" which is self realisation. The second is "Don't Drink and Drive" and third is "to remember that you are the incharge of other person's life when you are driving a vehicle". He added, “Partying and drinking are very common now days and i would not say no to
that. All I would say if you drink, then don’t drive your vehicle after that and put others’ lives including yours in danger because when your hands are on the steering wheel or on bike. You are also responsible for other people’s lives. So just take a cab and leave your vehicle there. That is one of the few things we can do for our nation. Today’s young generation knows a lot of things and very well aware of everything.” Allu Arjun’s speech received superb response from the students and the traffic police department also applauded both Rajamouli and Bunny who attended this awareness program. Responding over the reports of Charmee’s alleged involvement in drug and receiving notices from the Excise Department, Charmee’s father Deep Singh Uppal decided to speak up and share his side of story. Deep Singh Uppal said, “ My daughter has no time focusing on these allegations. I know my daughter well. She is working since at the age of 13 and she is still working successfully in
the film Industry. Charmee will not have this longevity of success and amazing career if she is involved in such type of illegal activities. She is a hard worker and takes care of her entire family since she has started working and presently she is an strong pillar for us. My wife is also very disturbed after hearing the news about Charmee’s involvement in drug case.
