Tom&Co was created in 1991. It is the Belgian market leader and an international player in the pet retail industry. Tom&Co spun-off in July 2016 from the Delhaize Group. This has created an extraordinary vibrant place with many opportunities to seize a yearly growth above standards on a turnover of â‚Ź200 million. The new group counts 159 shops (with 8 integrated) with a community of passionate franchisees. It is evolving from a traditional animal food supermarket chain to a place where customers can experience service and advice for their long-time animal friends. The Group operates in Belgium, France and Luxembourg and is currently reinforcing its structure. The following position is currently vacant:

As Head of Procurement you play a key role in the development of Tom&Co. Your goal is to improve sales, market shares, gross margins, price positioning, working capital and ensure relevancy of our product offering for our customers, in an omni-channel context. Your span of control includes category management, pricing, annual negotiation, private brands development, import and export; from strategy definition to execution with your teams. You lead and inspire a team of 4 category managers located in two locations (Brussels and Paris). You are part of the executive team and report to the CEO.

Drive sales and stay on top of market trends o Monitor market trends to stay leader in innovation o Together with Marketing you analyze the past actions in detail and report the results in a clear and structured top down manner.


o Fuel commercial plan with innovative and attractive events and promotions •

Improve store and HQ margins o You analyze the sales and profitability of the categories and make adaptations according to the results, objectives and market trends o Continuously analyses category, supplier and product performances

Manage Categories o Define category strategies o You identify and launch market and product opportunities based on competitive analyzes and market studies. o Allocate shelf space between categories o Continuously review and improve assortment

Lead Negotiations with Suppliers o Define negotiation strategies o Prepare fact-based negotiations o Support team in negotiations

Ensure Competitive Pricing o Manage Pricing strategies vs on-line and B&M competitors o Manage B2B and B2C pricing o Follow price competitiveness

Develop Private Brands o Develop new brands (Food and Non-Food) internally or in partnership with other players o Increase share of private brands in total sales mix

Import/Export and joined Buying o Investigate joined buying partnership with partners o Import vs local sourcing strategy o Export private brands to other markets

Manage Working Capital o You play a key role in improving working capital through stock rotation and accounts payables.

You have min. 10 years of experience in Sourcing/Category Management in a retail environment or Brand/Product/Sales Management in FMCG environment. You have a passion for pets, retail and customers. You listen and like being on the field. You are curious, and entrepreneur. Your drive is to develop with others. You are analytical and data-driven You have an analytical and commercial mind You love an ever-changing context and you adapt easily You are a good coach and people manager and know how to get the maximum out of your team in a motivating way. You have an excellent level of Dutch & French
